I think about that a lot. Because we did have to make the extremely difficult decision to put him down, and his last moments were spent with people whose jobs can be so very draining and thankless, but nonetheless whose job it is to guide us through the facts. Yes, I thought it was too expensive. Yes, I thought I was offering the staff more empathy than they deserved. But, yes, my opinion is heavily colored by having left with just an empty blanket in my arms. Just looking at the situation objectively, we did get what we needed.

Our dog Lucy recently had a medical emergency, and our experience here was extremely upsetting. During the visit, Dr. Emily Garrett supported putting Lucy down without running any diagnostic tests to determine what was actually wrong. As pet owners, hearing a recommendation like that without even attempting testing was shocking and devastating. Thankfully, Lucy is still with us. After leaving, we were able to find a rehabilitation facility in Leland that is now helping her recover and giving us hope that she may be able to walk again. This experience left us deeply concerned about the lack of emergency veterinary options available in this area. When pets are in crisis, families should have access to more than one place for urgent care and the ability to seek a second opinion before making life-altering decisions. I truly hope our community begins to recognize the need for additional emergency veterinary services so that other families and pets do not face the same situation.. Update on lucy she is not walking Dr. Aleva is was not and is not qualified to do these surgeries. She is right out of college! She has no clue what she is doing!! STAY AWAY FROM This deplorable so called er vet clinic!! Its funny how all the bad reviews are gone but mine and a couple.. they had horrible reviews well they have since disappeared!! And they are a learning hospital they would have never touched my dog if i knew this!! What a dump and the people that run it are deplorable!

While I was in a room I had to wait a few minutes for the vet to come back, but I was glad to be the person waiting with my pet instead of the person whose pet was having a true emergency that needed immediate care. It costs more than the regular vet, but that's why it's an emergency vet. No one wants to work the night shift so you get paid a little bit more when you do. I am thankful for the vet and felt that she was very kind and caring.

The tech took my dog at the 6hr mark and left the room with no word as to what they were doing or if they were going to be doing anything. Turns out they took my dog and put her in a kennel for two hours!! Why take her, if you're not even close to ready to look at her, she would be happier with her parents!! They said the wait "Is because they had one Vet on a Sunday that we had the wait!" Why wouldn't they have an emergency on-call additional vet available? I asked for them to quickly trim her nails and they said yes and later refused. The hospital was so cold we were freezing the entire time so I told the vet and she said sarcastically "I'm cold too!" Well I'm thinking they need to turn off the A/C!!!! I have been a pet owner for over 50 years and this was by far THE WORST TREATMENT I'VE EVER RECEIVED! We had less than five minutes with the vet after 8hrs of waiting!!!!!!! My dog could've died and they simply didn't care. If they are the ONLY AVAILABLE VET, you don't have much choice, but no customer should EVER have to wait 7hrs to see someone, no vet should ever disappear with your dog with ZERO explanation for two hours, and no hospital should be so cold as to make everyone miserable. My dog survived...no thanks to this animal hospital. But to their credit, and $350 later, my dog was given Benadryl and a steroid. But if we a choice, we would never return.
