The ladies at this clinic were great with my doberman. And was so easy to get into unlike my regular vet.

When I first started coming here on referral from my regular vet, the owners were not allowed to go inside due to the pandemic. Upon arrival, I had to park in a numbered parking spot out front, call the number on the sign, and someone would come out and take my dog inside to see the vet. The vet would then call me to discuss the appointment findings and the recommended course of action. Once the visit was complete, the tech would bring my dog back out to me. More recently when I've visited, I was able to go inside with my dog and wait in an exam room. However, when the vet examined my dog, the tech would take my dog to another location where I was not present to see what was happening. I prefer to be with my dog during the visit. My latest visit was because my dog had a serious issue, and we ended up having to make the hard decision to put her down. Mountain West performed the procedure in a special bereavement room with a couch. It was nice that they separated me from the busy exam rooms and waiting room of the facility for this painful process. During all of my visits, the staff were friendly and accommodating. A few things I wished were different are that I have always asked but never received a printed copy of the visit summary for my dogs. They are very automated and seem to prefer to not print anything. And it is hit and miss with getting the summary via email also. Also because they are an emergency facility, they post on the walls and doors that there may be a long wait due to possible emergencies coming in. I usually have waited no less and 1 hour and as much as 5 hours during my appointment. There does not seem to be a option for a quicker turn around.

The minute we arrived they immediately took care of my dog; from the medical assistants, front office personnel and major kudos to Dr. Jess! This group of professionals showed such care, kindness, and compassion, keeping me informed about everything. I am pleased to say my puppy is back to being happy and healthy thanks to this great healthcare group as well as my family veterinarian, Dr. Grover. What a blessing to have this great team in our area! I definitely give them five stars!

I would give this emergency vet zero stars if it was possible. I have taken my French Bull dog here…read moreon three separate emergency occasions to be turned away every time. They girl at the front desk will not even allow me to tell her what is going on before she says the vet is to busy and handing me a list of other places to go. I could understand the busy excuse if it happened once but three different times is ridiculous. Don't label your company as an emergency service if you're not going to help all animals in need Or provide emergency service. So unprofessional. My recommendation is advance veterinary clinic on 3300 south and about 1000 east. The vet techs and doctors there are absolutely amazing and I've never been turned away no matter how busy. If you care about your pets steer clear of this place.

She started to have extreme trouble breathing tonight and was in a miserable state, so I drove her over there after midnight. She was at the end stages and I had to make the hard choice to end her suffering as humanely as possible. I am so grateful for the professionalism and compassion at the Pet Emergency Room. My heart is broken but at least the suffering is over for my dear kitty who I have loved and cared for since the day she was born.

I chose UrgentVet based on a friend in vetmed recommending the chain itself and reading the reviews. Overall, good experience and fair pricing. They are a "fear free" practice I believe, which is positive, especially when you have a dog who has vet-related ear trauma. It does potentially limit what can be done without the need for sedation. I went in hoping to avoid sedation for an ear exam but knew it was a possibility. They did sedate and we went home once she was walking on her own. Pricing ended up being less than expected - mainly because I was quoted an astronomical price. The staff was up front about cost and gave an estimate for the exam fee and ear cytology - this was right after they told me they would likely sedate. I asked for an estimate on sedation and while I was soaking in that number in they mentioned a few other things that could come up but did not say how much they would cost. This caught up to me once the staff left the room. I love up front pricing but would appreciate estimates including the big ticket items - even if they don't end up happening. Not knowing is half the battle. In the end, they were very generous and removed extra charges associated with sedation that my dog didn't use to the full extent because she was sedated for such a short period. They do exams and care in the back without owner present (maybe you can ask, I didn't) which probably helps the pet. I would have appreciated meeting the vet prior to the vet examining/interacting with my dog, especially since my dog has had a traumatic event with a vet in the past. They were very responsive via email - sent invoice and SOAP notes for insurance along with forwarding to my primary vet. I would go back in a urgent situation. I had never been to an urgent vet before and wasn't sure of their setup. Part of any misunderstanding of care choices/pricing would also be improved by me asking for clarification from the jump.
