Inside and out, this place feels like a fake bank; a Hollywood set design built to perfectly match the vibe, color scheme, and technologically frozen decade of 1990. We were going to open new accounts. We signed in, waited....waited.... There was one teller taking paper slips for transactions. Another lady was in a window lined office pretending we didn't exist. Finally, when asked, the teller said the lady we need to see is out to lunch. This place has the worst customer service. Old system i had an issue with my account it gets blocked everytime I make purchases. I contacted them to see if they can help me fix my issue and the employee i believe his name was Joseph completely useless. This guy just said it's a website issue. Did not offer any kind of assistance at all. I am also having an issue making transfers and he did not even look into it. He told me to delete it and start over. Did not offer to walk me through the process at all. I decided to just put all my direct deposits into my other accounts since I received no assistance at all. read more

This was my first time visiting this location. Soon as I walked through the door, let me start by saying, the air conditioning was perfect because it was HOT out. The customer service was EXCELLENT. The representative Elijah, was wonderful, very genuine, his appearance was great, very knowledgeable. After visiting this branch as a shared-branch customer from a different participating credit union, I honestly don't understand all the negative reviews! My experience here was quick, pleasant, and efficient. Just make sure to ring the doorbell outside! The inside of the branch is small, but that's not an issue. If you're a shared-branch customer, just make sure to fill out the transaction request slip next to the entrance once you're inside. Service was pretty quick today, however. The teller who assisted me was interactive & friendly! I came to deposit a check and my transaction was done quickly. The fact that this location is also right next to a post office is very convenient. Overall, a solid credit union! I'll definitely be back! read more

I never write one of these, but I received such excellent service delivered with patient professionalism, that I felt compelled to do so for the first time. A young gentleman I believe his name was Elyja assisted me with getting a Cashiers check not once but twice when I got both the name and amount incorrect. He guided me working with my primary credit union to resolve limit issues, and then limit issues from having to put the money back in and take out a larger amount. He never lost his patience and made what was a frustrating time for me less painful. I would recommend Priority Once Credit Union to anyone in need of a new financial institution or even as a Co-op branch for the one you already have. If half the team members are as well trained, and mannered as this young man I'm sure you will be happy with your experience. The manager onsite that day was also very pleasant and personable. Ok everyone that visits this branch. This spot is like a bank in a small county or town. Everyone knows each other and the business is tight. I do understand why some complain about the wait time and minimum teller help. Knock on wood, I've had more issues with bigger name banks to say the least. I've been with priority one credit union Sherman way for 12 years or more. It's the only business In LA where I walk in and feel important. They give me all my transactions without all the fluff. Sign me up for that anytime. I walk in and tell them what I want and how I want it, they oblige without any hassle. If you're not a regular, you wouldn't understand. But if you want 5 tellers with minimum wait times, good luck with that at other big branches. Pick your poison. If you want to establish yourself with a reliable credit union, I recommend priority one credit union Sherman way, all the way. I'm not one to do reviews because i feel certain places should be experience and not gossiped about. And I complained before due to the wait time after COVID. I used the CoOp atm then stood in line unnoticed and asked to change the withdrawal to smaller bills and she cant do that. I will never come here again and no should bank here. read more

Called customer service and transferred to Alex. I explained my situation to him and he informed me he was with a customer and would call me back. If he was with a customer why take my call and time to listen? Nevertheless he never returned my call. Now that I know as a customer I don't matter enough to return my call I'll find a credit union that appreciates me as a customer and not lie to me. Avoid this place!!!! I went for an auto loan since I thought they had good rates and it's the credit union for my job. They had set me up with a saving account so my auto payment would me withdrawn from that account. Today, I received a late payment notification for that loan. I called and they said I was supposed to mail it in. Really!! I new my instinct was right. Something inside me was telling me not to get the loan there but, I wanted to give them a try. Also, I told the lender about the odometer statement and she said that they would take care of all that. Well, guess what I also recieved a letter from Honda saying that their missing the odometer statement. I'm just wasting time that I shouldn't because of their mistakes. I learn my lesson, and will learn from it. LOGIX credit union have the same rates or even better, and customer service is a plus, plus! read more

Customer service is HORRIBLE! waiting for almost 40 and no one even cares or offered any help!

I understand that COVID-19 has impacted everyone and businesses are trying their best. However, I'm frustrated that I have gone a couple of times to make my car payment and it is closed. They don't update their hours on yelp or other places so there is no way of knowing unless you drive there and find out for yourself. I tried to be understanding, but I also don't have the time to be driving over every time hoping it is open. I heard a man yelling at a lady there too frustrated at the same thing so clearly I'm not the only one. It's also unfortunate it costs 10 dollars to make a phone payment. I was seeking auto-loan, they said one thing, even confirmed with me after I double checked to make sure, and REVERSED their position after ran my credit! Don't bother depositing your hard earned money at this credit union. Their bill counter doesn't detect counterfeit bills. That's reason enough, but if you need the cautionary tale, here we go: My mom was a member of this credit union for 40 years. She withdrew money from her own account and was given a counterfeit $100 (she found this out when trying to deposit the money she withdrew at another bank). She traveled back to POCU and they wouldn't exchange the bill because they can't be sure they issued the counterfeit. She WAS (straight closed her account that second) a member for 40 and is trying to pull this shit for $100? Fuck that. POCU can't absorb that $100 for fraud. Fuck that. Don't bother. Go to Homestreet Bank. They have bill counters that detect fraud. read more

I don't normally do reviews or even go into detail when I do. But I have to highlight a delightful interaction I had today.1st let me start by saying I only use this location for thier ATM. I had previously really negative experiences with the employees here. Today was different when I pulled up I saw a young man cleaning the stairs an atm area. Like literally he had a bucket and a broom cleaning the stairs. I asked him was he trying to kiss up to his boss and he laughed saying his boss wasn't in the office today. So I asked him why do it ?.... his response was he has pride where he works. This blew my mind! I spoke a bit about my bad experiences at this branch and he told me that's why he was hired to change the perspective. He gave me his business card and told me to fill free to reach out whenever I have questions. There was no pressure at all, it felt like i was talking to a old friend. Just tried to go in and rang the doorbell twice and I wasn't buzzed in. I waited a little bit longer thinking maybe because their sign at the door stated that only two people at a time were allowed inside. Some lady with glasses walks up to the door from inside and tells me "we're closed don't you see the hours?!, look at the sign" In a very rude way... Clearly the sign on the door said they closed at 5pm and it was 10-15 minutes before 5pm! I don't understand why some people work customer service jobs when they can't even work with customers let alone be nice to them. read more

I received a piece of physical mail from Priority One, my old Credit Union, that said they were going to start charging $4.95 a month for account protection. I assumed it was a courtesy mailer since I hadn't had that account for years (or so I thought) - it was a mass mailer and they send me things regularly about car loans and other offers and announcements, presumably to bring me back. Then this month I finally open one of these mailers and it turns out to be an account statement showing that I am overdrawn about $15 from these charges! I went in and assumed it would be easy to speak to a manager, get the fees waived and close an account that clearly hasn't had money in it (because I thought it was closed!) Instead, suddenly all managers were out to lunch. The teller says maybe he can find one of them in the back room. He comes back and says they have a policy that these charges can't be reversed after 3 months, and the manager won't see me. Could they reverse the last two months at least? He replied that they couldn't. They informed me that when I thought I closed my account, they put $5 in my savings to keep the account active. Bottom line: they invented a charge and proceeded to ding an empty account to get their money. Then they hid behind poor customer service and policies in order to keep the cash. They will tell you it's all my fault - they sent me a letter! Credit Unions are supposed to be about the community they support, and helping the little guy. But this one hides behind that concept to operate exactly like the big banks. You know what? I paid them the money and made sure my account was closed. Congratulations on getting $15 from someone who had $0 in their account. Brilliant! Stay away from this credit union if you want to be treated fairly. read more
