Check in was quick and easy, had no problem getting in. We got here around 7:30am, thus the place was empty. However, by the time we left around 9am, the place was full. As for the food, nothing to write home about - the food options were limited (not sure if food options are different in the afternoon), but my favorite was the pretzel and the beer :) However, it was a nice that you got to get away form the airport foot traffic, had a place to sit and relax before your flight.

The food was not great. I had a coffee and water. Screaming kids running around. Not enough cleaning staff. And overcrowded

Therefore, if you use this lounge before catching a flight, give yourself plenty of time, as you will have to go through security again[1]. The layout of the lounge is also odd, as it develops length-wise, with the food/drinks area connecting two long rooms where tables and armchairs are located. Not all armchairs have access to a power outlet, and in fact there are extension cords in between armchairs, which I've never seen at an airport lounge. No TV's. The bathroom has only 2 stalls and 1 sink. Bottom line: if you have a long layover, then it's worth spending those few hours at this lounge; if not, then it's not worth it. ------------------------ [1] On top of Frankfurt airport being very big.

However, if you have a long layover it's worth it to relax, grab a snack and or a drink from the open / self-serve bar. The gentleman at check in was very nice. Besides the stains and outdated furniture it was clean / picked up. There is wifi. Of note, this is OUTSIDE of security. Immediately after dropping bags, go upstairs between hall B & C to find this lounge.

It was enjoyably quiet and mellow. The lounge has a self-serve bar which is very nice and features a variety of liquor, mixers, draft and bottled beer, and more. There are a few cappuccino, espresso and cafe stations scattered throughout the lounge. Additionally, a self-serve food buffet serves everything from a warm hearty meal to a delightful salad bar. For the holidays, the Senator lounge also featured a delicious port wine and fresh slices of stollen. Complimentary magazines and newspapers were available to read at two stations throughout the lounge. Several varieties of formal and casual seating could be found, as well as quiet spaces, cafe-style seating, charging stations with USB charging ports and EU outlets (no USB-C, so bear that in mind). Lastly, the Senator Lounge featured a shower suite area with all the amenities to freshen up between your flights.

We hung out in Terminal 2 until opening time. The furnishings and decor are dated, but comfortable. The breakfast was adequate. The scrambled eggs & bacon was what we needed to get us through to boarding. The apples in the fruit salad were very fresh. The mochaccino was very good. We didn't try any of the alcoholic beverages. Hey, it was 6:00 in the morning. I really would have loved to try the Japanese curry that they're famous for serving, but didn't get that opportunity. My biggest surprise was actually in the restroom. They have Toto Japanese toilets. I didn't know how to use the remote control. Fortunately, the toilet seat was already set on warm. What a cool experience! Lol! My husband was happy with his shower. He said it wasn't as nice as the Flagship Lounge in Chicago, but it was perfect for his needs. What's also great is that it was near our gate. Our AA flight departed at D1. This lounge was somewhere around D6. We didn't need to walk far. Definitely check it out if you happen to be in Frankfurt.

This review covers my overall experience with the LH lounge at Frankfurt Airport…read more Will not return: it's difficult to get in. The lounge itself is okay: spacious, clean, with various seating options. The drinks are much better than the food. It has four showers and a large business section. Getting in, however, is a challenge. Before this incident, I didn't pay attention to their two lounge types: Senator and Business, and my credit cards and ticket gave me access to both. I wasn't planning to use their lounge because: - The layover was short, but the first leg of the trip on LH from Krakow was delayed. - I have other easy options. But flying Lufthansa, I see their mustard-yellow lounges right off the plane. The first one, a Senator lounge, greeted me first. A woman by the door said, "Oh, you can't go," after I showed her my access code on their LH App. "Really? Why?" "You just can't," she replied. "So, the code doesn't work?" "You just can't," she insisted. "May I see your supervisor?" I asked, snapping a photo before she left to find someone. "Did you just take a photo of me?" she asked. "No, I just took a photo; you may be part of it." She went inside and soon reappeared with a tall white man. "Are you the supervisor?" I asked. "Did you take a photo of her?" he asked. "Yes, because she happens to be there." "Delete it," he instructed. "It's a public space," I said. "It's not allowed in Germany," he responded. I think that's not true, but why argue with a self-important buffoon? I deleted the photo. He looked satisfied and tersely said, "You can't use the code," then walked away. Did he get high on bullying a little old Asian woman? Okay, you won't key in with the code. Neither of them asked me what kind of access credentials I have. If you don't want to deal with your co-brand North American credit card, do NOT publicly offer it as a benefit. I didn't sign up for free LH lounge access. I found his manner repellent and somewhat amusing: I'd think by 2025, everyone would know that a deleted photo can be recovered from the 'Recently Deleted' folder with two clicks. Is he dumb, or is he just another of their army of counter-agents, taking pleasure in harassing customers? If you still think German precision is great, consider that their trains are often running late and that airport escalators have been broken for years... I don't know... Germany used to be the engine of Europe, but their top airline can't even scan a code properly. (The same goes for the Old Opera House in Frankfurt; they couldn't scan the ticket they emailed me. I had to print it out. For Pete's sake, save a tree or two, will you?) On my way to Centurion, I passed by another LH lounge (I think there are 14 of them in FRA) near my gate. I checked my email, and bingo, it worked, allowing me to write this. I won't be flying Lufthansa again anytime soon.
