As far as airport lounges, LuxxLounge is just meh. First of all, finding it was not so straight-forward, as you have to go near the airport entrance and upstairs. Therefore, if you use this lounge before catching a flight, give yourself plenty of time, as you will have to go through security again[1]. The layout of the lounge is also odd, as it develops length-wise, with the food/drinks area connecting two long rooms where tables and armchairs are located. Not all armchairs have access to a power outlet, and in fact there are extension cords in between armchairs, which I've never seen at an airport lounge. No TV's. The bathroom has only 2 stalls and 1 sink. Bottom line: if you have a long layover, then it's worth spending those few hours at this lounge; if not, then it's not worth it. ------------------------ [1] On top of Frankfurt airport being very big. read more

It's not the nicest lounge and there are limited snacks and food. No tv's. The place is being renovated right now, which is good because there are stains all over the old carpet and the decor is old and in general it's just run down. However, if you have a long layover it's worth it to relax, grab a snack and or a drink from the open / self-serve bar. The gentleman at check in was very nice. Besides the stains and outdated furniture it was clean / picked up. There is wifi. Of note, this is OUTSIDE of security. Immediately after dropping bags, go upstairs between hall B & C to find this lounge. read more

This is a sad lounge, it is located outside the gates far from anything. They have no screen showing flight times and will not display your flight information anywhere. The food is not food unless you crave eating just bread, butter, nuts and some sad sausages that have been there for probably 7 hours just sitting. Thank goodness alcohol is included but the selection is sparse . I would only come here if I truly had to and had a incredibly long layover . The people working here were pleasant. read more

Disgusting. THERE ARE MICE (apparently the airport is infested?), stains on the carpet, the tables and chairs clearly do not get wiped down or cleaned. The chairs in the front lounge are extremely worn and have crumbs, dandruff, and smell like greasy hair. Bathrooms are ok, but not well maintained. The food is mediocre. The people working there are very nice, but unfortunately did not make up for how gross the location was. On my return to airport I chose to not go based on prior experience. The location of the lounge is also challenging. It's located outside of the airport near arrivals. You have to go upstairs. Fairly hidden and annoying that it is outside the airport requiring going through security again. read more

For me, compared to waiting in an uncomfortable seat in the airport, almost any lounge with food and drinks gets a 4-5 star rating. Granted, I have Priority Pass through credit cards so the lounge is free. I don't think I would ever pay out of pocket to stay at any lounge no matter how nice it was. There was a decent selection of self-serve drinks, a coffee machine, and some food. The food options were not the best, but still good. I talked to a fellow traveler about our favorite artists - we both agreed on Charles P. Thompson. Just note that the lounge is before security, so plan accordingly to make sure you have enough time to get to the gate. I would have preferred to go to a lounge after security but I didn't know how easy it would be to transfer to a different terminal. read more

It was all Luxx Lounge's fault! I had no intention to start my vacation drinking at 7 am in the morning. But the espresso machine was not working and there was not even hot water to make a tea?! That opened bottle of Presecco looked really inviting but at least I mixed in a touch of OJ to make it a mimosa? A perfect early morning drink to start my "drinking" vacation! Luxx Lounge located outside Security at the Departure Level of Terminal 1. Just give yourself plenty of time to get to your gate if you do decide to chill out here before your flight. Just remember you still need to go through Security and the line can be quite busy. A full open bar and even hot food. After being in UA lounges that only have peanuts, packaged cheese and crackers, the wieners serves here as least is "real" food! One of the not so great lounges we encountered so far. Not only you have to leave the transit area to get to it (meaning you have to shlep through security all over again), and hike for 15 min to get there, it is also old and rather dirty. It is set up as train carts, with sitting areas stringing along, and food/ bathrooms in between. Despite the large size, it is noisy, grimey, worn out, with uncomfortable chairs and just one bathroom stall for all - so there is a line even in ungodly hours if the morning. Good is rather boring as well, few breads & hot dogs, wine & beer. I would not venture there again unless it is very long layover. read more

The reason for 3*, not only the lounge is small, there were only 2 toilets and 2 showers. Honestly, the toilets were not as clean as I would have had expected. The LuxxLounge is pretty difficult to get to when transferring within the Frankfurt airport. Firstly, the Frankfurt airport is huge and takes a long time to get between terminals. Secondly, the lounge is actually outside of security, above the check-in counters. Therefore, if you are transiting, you'd have to go back through security if you go to this lounge. The LuxxLounge accepts Priority Pass, which is great, but that's about where the good benefits ends. The lounge itself is pretty small and it was difficult to find seating for 2. The food selection is pretty limited to a handful of snacks and some wieners (it is German in the end). There is a self-serve bar. I had a 6 hour layover in Frankfurt (en route to India) and I couldn't quite leave the airport to visit friends without missing my flight so instead, really needed a place to relax and catch up on sleep without looking like a bum. Found that at Frankfurt Airport you have two choices, Luxx Lounge and Sky Lounge. I think all of the other lounges are exclusive to card members/ reward accounts. One downside is that Luxx (unlike Sky) requires you to leave the restricted area so you'll have to go through clearance all over again. I had no problem with getting directions on how to find Luxx, people seem to be knowledgable. Once I got there, I went straight to the bar/food area. They had fruit, muffins, OJ, wieners, Sprite, beer etc. The food selection could have been better but I took full advantage of the sleeping arrangement - they have an area for sleepers and in the back, an area for chatty folks. You have to prepay in advance online for a better rate (~$30) so make sure you plan ahead! Also the site says there is a 3 hour maximum but that didn't seem to be enforced at all. I'd recommend only if you're looking for a place to sleep and basic nourishment. This place has no frills. Update: The year is 2018 and I've returned since my last trip to Frankfurt Airport in Dec 2016. This time, I didn't pay and am using my Chase Reserves Priority Pass to gain complimentary access. Its a bit tricky to find - but once you do, its a small quiet oasis. You have to go to the third floor via escalator. Its right in front of the bridge to the Sheraton Hotel. To pay 30 euros, a bit pricey - but with a Priority Pass its fine. If you only have an hour or two for a layover - I would skip this lounge because a)security in Frankfurt can be a beast and b)Frankfurt airport is massive - you need time to get to your gate. For Priority Pass, its a three hour stay - but the woman running the front desk said I could run my pass again if I needed to without issue. The lounge was never crazy crowded like the Lufthansa one, so I think its why they were lenient on time. Front room is for quiet(no cell phones, talking, skype) and the back room has comfy couches and a small meeting area. Food is limited but there's a coffee machine, breakfast pastries, fresh fruit, cheese, lots of sausage links at any hour, alcohol and champagne(for a fee). Lunch time had soup and vegetables.Showers with the priority pass are 5 euros, and they give towels and amenities, well worth it if you have another long haul. Gets the job done. Hard to find when you are coming from inside the terminal. Directions on the Priority pass app are not great & no one inside the airport seems to know how to find it. We finally located it near the front entrance (unfortunately on the wrong side of the security) when you see the ANA check in, take the escalator up. For the price, which was free for us (platinum Amex /priority pass) it was worth the hassle. The breakfast was appreciated, frankfurters! And coffee, sodas, beer and wine. If I were paying the advertised 27-50€ I'm not sure I would be as excited about it. This would usually be a 1 star review but this lounge offers something I have never come across. That is the ability to enter without being on the secure side of the airport. This lounge which I used my Priority Pass access to enter is on the side of security that any and everyone can be on which I found unique and beneficial. I had a 24 hour layover so I left security and chose a near by hotel but was still able to utilize the lounge which is a fantastic plus worth and extra star. On the negative side this lounge has not been taken care of to the state it should, many of the seats are worn and the amenities are below average. The food that was available was not taken care of and I may even say below edible BUT there was alcohol (beer and hard liquor) which I was free to pour to my heart's content. WiFi was also available as well as showers. While this lounge only will receive 2 stars from me the benefit of being able to use this lounge on the unsecure side of the airport is a massive benefit to travelers staying on or near an airport property. read more

The food selection is sad though so I wouldn't recommend coughing up any $ for this place but if u have free access y not stop by for a drink if it's convenient. The state of the buffet and lack of seating at 10:30 AM is #deplorable for paying 30€/person. The spot is hard to locate and requires that you re-enter the airport through the security checkpoint. Very quiet and relaxing lounge. They have a good selection of drinks and snacks including Frankfurt sausages. I used my priority pass, but they charge €30 per person for casual use. The use of shower is an additional charge of €5. The public shower room in the Frankfurt airport is €6. I personally enjoy taking a shower before the long flight, so extra charge was a bit disappointed. There should be cons and pros but this lounge is located landside, before the security, so the recommended time to leave the lounge is one hour prior to flight departure time. DONT GO!!! My husband and I had a long (7 hours) wait at Frankfurt's air port and since I am a handicap we decided to wait in a lounge. We were addressed to LuxxLounge as the ONLY one you can pay to get in. We paid 30 Euro for each person and walked in. At first it looked nice but our experience was NOT: 1) the woman at the reception was not nice at all. 2) the lounge was crowded and there was no place to sit. 3) only I was able to connect to wifi and it was pretty slow. My husband wasn't able to connect at all! 4) the selection of food was poor and what was offered wasn't tasty. 5) the ladies bathrooms were DIRTY AND SMELLY. In conclusion- That was the most expensive not tasty hotdog I have ever bought and worst 60 euros I have ever spent!!! read more
