Ok, here is the gist the guise of this pub. It wasnt brilliant, it was average before it got taken over. Now it has grown into something very special due to the hard work of the 3 partners who invested time and effort over its transition. The decor is I would say modern, clean but traditional at the same time, the menu has a good selection and the food is excellent.
If you think the price is expensive then Im sorry but your wrong, its consistently good and priced in accordence to similar establishments, the staff are experienced and friendly. They have no airs or graces just good honest people who know good service. Its not michelin star but its far from weatherspoons. If you expect weatherspoons prices then go to weatherspoons. Its owned by independent people who make very good food at a competative price.
The steak and ale pie is a must have, the soup specials especially the spicey tomatoe and beef is great, the desert selection is fantastic too. If you ring up in the evening your unlikely to get a table or sometimes even in the day at the weekends.
Id say ring up the day for a night time reservation or put your name down on the night if your at a loose end because they will ring you back to fill the table if any cancellations occur. The atmosphere is bubbly and nice.
Go to this pub without any expectations and I am confident you will come out more than impressed with it. read more
