It was a way to feel like I'm getting away with also not getting price gouged by every course in NOVA taking advantage of the MD golfers coming in to play. Okay rant over. My buddies and I, after a round on this beautiful mountain top course; decided to ask about booking their cottage for a weekend with our female companions (who do not play golf). I knew this would take some convincing, but honestly, the staff is really the reason it was all possible. They went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of every step of the way. So much so the girls actually left enjoying being out on the course so much I believe some of them are thinking about taking lessons. The value of this place is not in their great pricing (and yes the pricing is great). It's in the personality of every person that you get to meet and talk to through the time you're there. We left feeling like we had just visited long lost relatives. There's something in the water up there that just has everyone so much more connected with each other. It probably doesn't hurt that you can find the owner working most days checking in to make sure everyone's enjoying themselves. I don't think if he even knows what the word "no" is, honestly. We will definitely be back and plan to make it a regular trip we take. Thank you so much for all your help SVGC staff! I'd…read morelike to start by shouting out the cart girl we saw her multiple times on the front and back 9 and had our orders ready fast so we could keep pace of play. 1. The course was in good shape for it still being the winter season however it doesn't seem like they adjust there rates for the slower season. 2. If you come here with a group of less than 4 be prepared to be placed with another group even if the tee sheet isn't full. We tried haggling with the starter but he wasn't budging

The tees and greens were in pretty good shape although the greens needed mowing. The fairways were in horrible shape very dry, tough to even take a divot, the rough and other areas were full of a funky crab grass, the sand traps needed sand and professional raking and there are a lot of traps. Needs tree trimming throughout the course the tree branches are taking over many of the fairways and make it unfair play. The electric cart trails need to be removed and re-paved.

There was a choice of hamburger or chicken. The chicken was in a light broth of old bay, bbq sauce, and something else which is escaping me. The chef behind the table cut the little knobby bone ( the bone that connects the breast with the wing) off of the breast after I picked it from the chafing dish... begging the question... why did they leave that on? But I think it oddly made some sort of weird difference. Well, whatever they did, the chicken was super tender and flavorful and the buns they had were crucially delicious. It was a spectacularly simple and delicious meal. I loved it. Everyone at the country club was extremely pleasant and attentive. Servers made sure that I had enough to drink and cleared my plate away quickly. The worst part of my experience was leaving the country club, as I know that I am very unlikely to back anytime soon.
