Several greens run away from you which deals with some tricky situations, especially out of the rough. But the routing does a good job of providing variety off the tee and into each green. Greens are always in great shape, but they are just on the slow side. Overall conditions are also really good for the area. Solid track I would love to play several times a year if I ever met any members. Also a place I would consider joining if I lived in the area. Putting green is extremely sloped, but that's what you will encounter on the course at times. They have two small chipping greens too. One major downside are the floating golf balls on the driving range. Balls fly much higher than normal and don't give you good feedback while practicing. The staff have always been extremely nice and helpful whenever I have been here, whether it's for a tournament or when I have played as a guest. I am looking forward to coming back.

Most shots are open and even though the yardage is not as long as most in the area, the course plays as a challenge from the back tees! I would definitely come play again!

If you're an advanced player, drop your driver and only carry a few clubs to improve your approach game and your putting. The small and sloping greens will test even the best players. And when they are rolling fast, they are a real challenge. The course is short and walkable, but not without challenges. And the price is right. Try it. You'll like it. We picked up some hot dogs and drinks at the turn after the 9th hole. 4 stars mostly because they charged the same for walking or riding. And that day they had cart path only which was not told to us at the club house. I wish they were clear about the cart path only rule when we checked in. It was kinda annoying to ride the cart. So after a couple of holes, we switched to walking. Otherwise, the course looked in a great shape. It's not a difficult course from the white tees.

The staff welcomes us with a bucket of balls to warm up before each lesson. Clients range from aspiring young golfers to seasoned older players like me, relearning the fundamentals and adopting new techniques to overcome bad habits. Barry tailors each weekly lesson based on his assessment of your swing, stance, grip, and feedback as you hit a 7- or 8-iron into the simulator. He quickly explains the statistics displayed at the bottom of the screen and shows you how to move the numbers toward the desired results, much like a doctor reviewing blood test result. After an hour of keeping your head steady, driving an imaginary nail through the ball, preventing your chicken wing from flaring, and absorbing Barry's calming blend of Irish wisdom, experience, guidance, and humor, you leave with a notebook page of practice drills and the date and time of your next lesson. Whether you want to lower your handicap, improve your game, take quality lessons, or simply hit a few balls, I recommend Golf Spot 29.

The app is easy and friendly to use and tracks your data across multiple clubs, rounds and visits. The app has different modes of free play and some more competitive game modes and is realtime. Tracking is spot on. They have 3 different size buckets of balls, small, medium and large. They have open bays and they have covered bays. The covered bays are more money but totally worth it on those hot Virginia days. Pro shop is decent. I've only purchased golf balls from them so I can't really elaborate on the pricing of their apparel/equipment. I took my daughter there when she visited from NY and she was impressed as well. A+

Just updating my original review. The more I play this course the more I like it to be honest…read more There are some quirky holes and some blind tee shots, but it's a really fun track. Holes 1 and 10 are two fun but trouble filled par 5s that start each nine. Number 9 is a great, short par 3 that has an island-ish green. Hole number 18 is a tough, tough finishing hole that I still haven't figured out. Condition was fantastic in mid-July, but some of the greens were really fast and some were chewed up and slow. But the fairways, tees, and rough were perfect. The practice area is really solid. Driving range is a bit narrow. But the chipping green and putting green both have a lot of space and offer pretty much every shot. Staff was friendly, golf shop was small but fine, and the grill in the basement was solid. All in all a place I would love to visit more often. Random note for someone in the pool area near the 9th tee: my friend who sets up speaker systems each week says if you turn down the music a touch in the pool area, it'll sound a lot better.

Years ago, the food was consistently good and we dined at the club frequently. Now, the food is the worst it has ever been. We took a guest to dine a week ago. All three meals were below the quality one expects from a diner but with upscale restaurant prices. The steak arrived purple instead of medium rare. The rigatoni in vodka sauce was soup, not sauce because the pasta released so much water onto the plate....the pasta was floating in it. The glazed salmon was fishy, had no glaze and absolutely no flavor or seasoning. The crispy Brussels sprouts with maple and bacon arrived as a mushy overcooked (boiled?) mess with zero maple flavor and about three bacon bits tossed on top. The only edible item on the table were the French fries. To make matters worse, they have turned what was once a dining area with a glass wall into a storage area that is visible to diners. We have to see stacks of beer ehike we fine? Really? To say we were embarrassed by the entire experience is an understatement. Sadly we cannot support the club in our own community. DVCC management should be ashamed.

This is like nothing else. Going there is like visiting an old friend--the experience is extremely…read morecausal, laid back, and organic. It's almost like Steven has created a start-up farm immersion experience. At Steven's request, we started considerably later than expected on the horses so they wouldn't be exposed to extreme heat--which would be a potential disaster for me as a super-busy, over-scheduled DC person, but Steven was very polite about it and neither my party or the couple we met there were in any hurry. We also had the opportunity to Kayak in the lake near the main house, which was fun and relaxing, and Steven entertained us with engaging conversation. The actual horse-back riding vastly exceeded my expectations for excitement and interest. The animals were glorious and had distinct and entertaining personalities and idiosyncrasies, all well known to Steven. If you like speed, Spirit is a great horse for you; others prefer to take it much slower. You will get involved in every aspect of the horse's care--if you'd like--from swatting horse flies, feeding them, taking down saddles, and giving them a bath with a bucket, and you will get the best pictures you've ever seen for free, thanks to Steven. If you have a free day or evening, and you want a taste of what it would be like to live on a farm and raise horses, just go. Unless you own your own horses, it will probably be the best horse experience of your life. It will inevitably be fun, unscripted, and pleasantly unexpected.

Not simply because he was running late, but because the house (castle/waiting room/party room) was absolutely filthy. I was really taken aback by a business looking like this, even if it's a business that works w/ animals. When we got there, the owner and assistant were on a ride w/ another group. Then the group we were supposed to be riding with were an hour late, so we had to wait for them. It was just annoying, although Steven (owner) was friendly. When we walked into the empty house it looked like a construction space, a hen was walking around the inside and I even saw it poop IN THE KITCHEN! Things finally turned around when I hopped on Sherman (my white horse w/ black spots). He was a greedy little thing and ate up all the grass but he was a great horse. Steven immediately put ppl on the horses and taught us while we were riding. He was a straight to it teacher and I liked that. He definitely knows what he's doing when it comes to animals. He took a bunch of pictures and videos and sent them to everyone in the group. I'm thankful to have such awesome pictures that didn't cost us extra. I'm giving 4 stars despite the filth because Steven was friendly, welcoming, and I enjoyed the experience. Tip: -don't eat there if germs bug u -don't arrive early, there's no point -yes, you're in the right spot, even though it looks a little funky on the outside
