I was in town visiting my husband who is stationed here at Sheppard AFB. We had professional photos done at Wichita Mountains about an hour north of Wichita Falls. With Wichita Falls being such a small town, Primp and Blow offered what I needed to bring the photos all together. I came in with my hair already washed and dry and had them do a dry style on me. I showed them a photo I was wanting but unfortunately the lady said I didn't have enough hair for it. So we played around with a few different styles until I decided on just a single braid across my head. She sprayed it with a ton of hairspray and the hair lasted until my photos later in the afternoon. I also had my make up done by another lady. She was very young and sweet and did a really great job. They used Smashbox cosmetics with a mix of some others they've collected along the way. I added on some fake eyelashes for $10 as well. They were very light on my eyes and helped bring everything together. Overall I was satisfied with the service I received and am glad there was a business in the area that offered what I needed. The prices were a little steep in my opinion but it was a one time thing so I was willing to pay a little extra. read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. As I was getting my hair done for my sisters wedding the stylist asked me, "This is a trial run, right?" I replied "no, this is the real deal". At that point I was praying that the bride's stylist remembered her from over a month ago (when the trial run actually was). What's sad is that I had this appointment booked with the bride, the mother of the bride, and one other bridesmaid way in advance. What's even more difficult to grasp is that I asked for literally the simplest of hairstyles (half up, half down) and ended up with my hair in the shape of a bow! I asked the stylist if she could change it, and she said she had to style it that way to hide the bobby pins! Are you serious... It would've taken two bobby pins to pin my the sides of my hair back. The only reason I left this review is to help the people who plan to splurge at this salon make a smarter decision and go to more experienced hairstylists with reasonable pricing. These ladies have skills with blow dryers like you've never seen and can give you full, gorgeously styled hair. You can pick what hairstyle you want from a catalog. My only complaint was price. With tip I paid $50. I think that's a lot considering I can get hair cut and blow dry for $40 from my reg stylist. read more

This was my first Primp and Blow experience. Kenzie (sp?) did an amazing job, so professional and friendly! She made my hair silky smooth while keeping plenty of volume (this is important to me!). After using Primp and Blow only once several months ago, I booked them for my daughter's bridal party. I knew that they are overpriced from the beginning, but I figured a little pampering now and again is worth it, especially for a bride. P&B requires a trial run first (a good idea by my measure). We scheduled the bride's a few weeks before the big day. The trial was $60-ish, plus a $250 deposit was required to book the bridal party. The day before the big day, I called to confirm our appts. P&B mistakenly advised that two more of our party had joined the schedule and asked me to confirm their appointments as well. After calling every possibility, I reported back to P&B that we didn't have two additions. Turns out, the employee had an entire other party in mind. This = time wasted for me on the day of the rehearsal dinner. On the day of the wedding, two of our party had "up," dos. By up, I mean they were half up. One was litterally a little ball of hair the stylist said was intended to hide bobby pins. It looked silly and luckily the young victim was a stylist capable of fixing the mockery of an up do. Upon checking out, I was advised that the day's total was $165. According to the employee, with my deposit of $250 that brought my total to well over $300. After a lengthy conversation to convince not one, but two employees, that a $250 deposit + a total of $165 = a Refund, they decided to call for help. After attempting two phone-a-friends with no luck, I advised the two employees that provided we all agreed that I was due a refund, I would let them figure out how to make their computer work in my favor and they could credit our card later. I requested that each of the 4 stylist's involved receive a $10 tip and that the $45 remaining of the refund be processed when they figured out how to work their system. I received a voice mail today (two days later) that rather than a refund, the card was charged an additional $35. According to the owner, Laci, with whom I spoke later, the stylists had charged me incorrectly for those two not-really-up up dos. And while she felt that she was gracious in allowing the charge quoted for me (that she stated was $10 too little), and waiving the $9 I was short in the required $49 gratuity, she didn't feel obligated to honor the pricing TWO of her employees quoted while I was in the store. Keep in mind, had I forced the transaction to be completed before my departure, I would likely have gotten the refund. Instead, a questional course was elected to charge me even more, with the owner citing "service industry," practices for her rationale. I hope she realizes soon that it is the customer they're servicing and transactions like this leave the customer no doubt that they're not the priority. Now, I will say that the scalp massage was worth its weight in gold. But whatever it did to lighten the stress of the day was nullified by the questionable buisiness practices of the company. read more
