Primitive Images offers so much in this little town near the lake. Rustic furniture, clothes, jewelry, arts and crafts-it's what the retail franchise Anthropologie tries to be. And it certainly doesn't end there!
Right outside, a little crepes stand(Northern Crepes-perfect addition to Good Hart!) operates in conjunction with Primitive Images. They have a suprisingly extensive menu including a full page of savory crepes and a full page of sweet crepes to choose from.
Also inside the Primitive Images cabin is the Good Hart and Soul tea room which has an extensive tea, coffee, cold drink(Lavender lemonade-mmmm!) and baked goods menu. Seating inside or outside.
Don't forget to pick up a schedule of the Good Hart and Soul events and classes they offer. While in northern Michigan I was staying active doing mostly solitary activities(running, kayaking, swimming, biking), so it was a welcome change to take a group yoga class($15) with an amazing instructor right outside in the backyard of Primitive Images. You are close enough to the lake where you can faintly hear the sound of the waves-very peaceful. Stick around after the class to chat with the friendly locals and get a free drink from the tea room.
Coming from Chicago, Primitive Images(including Good Hart and Soul and Northern Crepes) is the PERFECT antidote to the big city. read more
