Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this business to other brides-to-be in the DMV area and I…read moredisagree with other reviews. Monica was my makeup artist for my wedding, which happened on September 3, 2017. She was picked 10 months in advance and was paid in full before the wedding date (BIG MISTAKE...Brides, don't ever do this). I had a rather large wedding party with seven bridesmaids who needed make-up along with my mother, mother in law, and myself. The artist and I communicated a schedule and I even paid extra for her assistant. However, my biggest fear happened when Monica and her assistant showed up OVER 2 HOURS LATE! When Monica did show up, she told us she had another event that morning (who schedules another event on a Sunday morning before 8am when she is due for another wedding?) that ran late but she would call 2 other assistants to get us back on schedule. Needless to say, they never showed up. As a result, the entire wedding day was off schedule and we ended up having to rush through the photography and reception; vendors who were on time and paid to do a job within a scheduled amount of time. That meant less memories would be recorded, less dances and fellowship with my husband, family and friends, some of whom flew thousands of miles for this moment, and an overall feeling of rushing throughout the day (which ultimately brings out the bridezilla that no one, including you, wants to see). Afterwards, there was no follow up and there was NEVER AN APOLOGY. Lastly, I'll comment re: the makeup itself. The trial makeup was great. I loved it. I thought my bridesmaids looked great, too. However, the day of my makeup had a very yellow-ey tint to it, which I expressed to her and she said the makeup needed to set in...I have no idea what that means or how it would make it appear less yellow. In photos, my face looked a different color from my neck and under my eyes looked cakey, which I also hate. Also, her "makeup kit" that I was supposed to take with me for touch-ups throughout the day was some powder dumped in a plastic baggie with a couple small brushes. Tacky. I never followed up with her and I am only writing this now because I was asked by one of my vendors to provide information about my other vendors for an online feature. Even now, it makes me pretty angry and disappointed to recount how I was treated on one of the most important days of my life. I just don't understand how one woman could do that to another on their wedding day. Do yourself a favor, do not book this business for your wedding, especially if you have a larger wedding party. It's clear that she couldn't handle the task or adhere to a schedule.
