You can easily look around without feeling like you are in everyone's way. They have a great magazine selection (if you read Dutch), but I love the variety of greeting cards. You'll find some English ones too. And I bought stamps. Very friendly staff. If you are in Alkmaar and need some cards and stamps, it's a good spot.

It's a larger post office-type store (compared to others I have been to), it's bright with move to walk around. There are multiple registers and sometimes people form one line and sometime two...just depends on the day. The staff has always been friendly and now that I have encountered the same woman a few times, she recognizes me. She's happy to speak English to me, or Dutch if I prefer. Yes, some things are pricey, but it's not a discount store. It's just one of those neighborhood stores where people know people and they know how to be helpful. My advice for here is to always bring an ID (Dutch ID or a Passport) to pick up packages.

I am a totally a new fan of this book shop. How could I have missed out on such a lovely book shop…read morein the center of Haarlem. I was completely surprised by​ how big this bookstore is... I initially assumed that the book store was complelety small, until I finally walked in the shop. I came in here to purchase the Game of Thrones​ book set in Dutch for my man and was stunned​ over the amount of space in here.
