If you're not Swedish this is your opportunity to try traditional Swedish sausage. I think it was called Falukorv /flukrv/, Swedish pronunciation: [flkrv] It's made of a grated mixture of smoked pork and beef or veal with potato starch flour, onion, salt and mild spices. Falukorv is a cooked sausage, so it can be eaten without any further preparation. Some Swedes use it as a sandwich ingredient, much like ham or turkey. It tastes like cheap, bland American bologna which is served like a hamburger. It's served what in the US is called "sweet relish" but known here as Bostongurka .It's a Swedish concoction of pickled gherkins, red bell pepper and onion with spices such as mustard seeds. It is so popular in Sweden that it is considered by some to be a generic term. Despite its name, Bostongurka has nothing to do with the city of Boston. I am happy that I tried Falukorv with Bostongurka but once was enough. However, if I'm in the mood for a mega free refill portion of Diet Coke this will be the destination because of the cleanliness and wonderful customer service.

Günter's has a wide variety of sausages, which are served on baguettes with chimichurri, sauerkraut, hojhoj sauce (a slightly spicy sauce), and mustard. Rather than cut the baguette in half, they drill a hole in the middle, and then fill it with the sausage and toppings, which makes for a neat eating experience without condiments dripping out of the side of the bun. All of the ingredients seem to be high quality, and the chimichurri is an amazing compliment to the sausage. (I always get the sausage with everything, but the chimichurri stands out.) I've been to Günter's at least four times over multiple trips to Stockholm. I've liked everything I've eaten there, but I don't have a standard sausage I order.
