After much research we went with Barn Busters because of all these wonderful reviews. Even though…read morethey are much further away than the other companies. But wait! After several calls for information, quotes, and questions, some calls answered some never returned. No worries, maybe just really busy? Finally all set and made our mind to go with their quote, although a tad bit more than other companies that were closer. Was ready to pay deposit but was told I could pay when permit comes out. Neither of us knew it would take almost 3 months to get the go ahead from our building department. Went ahead and sent not just the deposit but the whole amount! I know dumb but I was a serious customer and wanted to get this project delivered and ready to build! I had no reason to worry Wayne and Rebecca sounded great with such great reviews. Next day got emailed a new invoice with a different price of $800 more for an 18x36! What! Made my calls, no answer no return from them. Wanting an answer to this increase I left a message that I was gonna cancel the check and back out of the job. Immediately got a call back. Was explained the price of material had gone up. I get it OK, but that much more in those 10 weeks. Plus I was ready to pay deposit way before, that should of secured the price of materials but was told to pay at a later date. After working out a price to meet each others expectations I went ahead with the project AGAINST MY BETTER JUDGEMENT! After all, the wheels are already in motion and was eager to move along. After only a few days they delivered the barn kit, my husband had a bobcat so he ended up taking materials off the truck so Wayne and Rebecca wouldn't have to by hand. All said and done but the remaining balance on the price increase we compromised on. Wrote a check and Rebecca then asked about the delivery fee of $500. Umm my invoice shows that delivery fee as a description as part of the total price. I print it out and showed her the new increased invoice she emailed me. Sick to my stomach she insists that's how all of her invoices are wrote none of her customers had a hard time understanding the delivery fee was separate. I pointed out how anyone that knows how to write and read an invoice sees a total amount, IS A TOTAL AMOUNT! Rebecca said from now on she will write up invoices differently so other customers know. I have been a business owner myself for over 10 years and never in my days have ever been misunderstood by a simple invoice such as. Whatever I paid it! Besides all these issues it just gets better. The selection of posts and purlin boards were of ones you'd find at the bottom of piles that were picked out that no one wanted, either really crooked, cracked, ect. Ended up having to go to our own lumber store to purchase a few that could not be manipulated or were of no use. The metal trusses were made wrong to size leaving us to work with our building inspector on ways to make it work (more money on materials) since Wayne and his Truss company refused to send the correct sized ones that were on the plans admitting their mistake. Well the Truss company said if we picked them up 300 miles away they would. I didn't hire the truss company, I hired barn Busters for my kit. This comes down to Wayne and Rebecca's problem to make it right and to deliver it, they should of checked to make sure the correct sizes and quality of materials. Still haven't heard a word from either one how they intend to fix their problem after over a month. We didn't wait on them and we finally have our beautiful 18x36 pole barn up. Be careful whom ever decides to purchase a kit from them.

This business is an absolute joke. Please save yourself time,5$money and go with someone else…read more Rebecca quoted me a price and after accepting it said she couldn't meet my timeline. I said that's fine and they can just get it next week. She then said she couldn't get the 6x6s and I could just use another company to get my kit. I said if they can just get me the rest of the kit then that's fine. She said she'd take 60 off per pole (6 6x6s) and gave me a price only 60 under the original quote. I corrected her that it should me 360 under the original quote and she apologized for her math error. Then I never heard from them again. I suspect she misquoted me the first time and just didn't want to be honest so she ended all communication and wouldn't return my calls. She tied up three weeks of my time during this process when I should have just went with someone else from the start. These people aren't fit to run a lemonade stand, much less a business that involves logistics.

Our project involved some engineering and creative problem solving, as we were removing a load-bearing wall. Steve and Trey listened to all of our concerns and answered all of our questions, and we had a ton of questions! Once the remodel got started I was pleasantly surprised with how clean they ran the construction site. At the end of each day, they cleaned up, vacuumed and even ran a magnet across our backyard to pick up any construction debris. We really appreciated this, as we work from home and have small children, so we had to truly live in the construction area. Plus, I didn't have to worry about the kids stepping on something and getting hurt. One of my favorite parts of the build was the communication. We were on a group text and were kept up to date on when they'd be arriving, what would be getting done, etc. They always showed up when they said they would, and if they were delayed by another job, they were quick to let us know. I highly recommend Kay Construction for any project. We are excited to have found such a great, reliable and honest contractor who we can trust. And we are IN LOVE with our new space. It turned out beautiful!
