Here's welcoming the Pride Factory to its new location on the Drive in the Shoppes of Wilton Manor. With the closing of GayMart, Pride Factory now reestablishes the area for gay shopping. When Pride Factory was located on 13th St. it was also known as America's Gay Emporium and indeed it may be the East Coast answer to that. It's big, almost warehouse looking, with gobs of clothing, swim suits, jock straps (mostly kink lite in appearance), a huge selection of lubes, a big and varied assortment of porn videos for rental and purchase, novelty items, dildos, leather lite items, some "video head cleaners," and just about everything else. However, the prices aren't warehousing. I'd say a little steep, but reasonable enough for their brand quality. The leather items are rather amateurish, and more meant for novelty than for the real players; certainly not up to the demands of my perverse proclivities. The other general items of clothing are of good name brand quality but definitely geared to the younger or twink patrons. Considering the better quality, prices I found to be reasonable. For the tourist, it's well worth the stop since it is bigger and has a wider selection than most any other such places in the state or, for that matter, in the south or along Coast. Sometimes bigger is better. Pride Factory just relocated from Fort Lauderdale's E 13th Street to right smack in the center of the Wilton Manors Drive gayborhood. It is definitely the largest boutique clothing store catering to gay men that I've been in. It's larger, brighter and more spacious than the old site. During the day there is ample parking in the Shoppes of Wilton Manors lot; if planning to just shop in the evening or night, you'll be hard-pressed to find any parking space available as the restaurants and nightclubs get busy. Most of the staff are helpful and someone always says hello. While I find clothing targeting gay males to be overpriced, sometimes the clothing fits so well it's worth shelling out extra. Not everyone wants to wear Middle America department stores shirts with wide short sleeves down to their elbows, or long knee-length baggy shorts that hide your assets. Pride Factory carries the big name casual boutique brands in the gay universe, such as Andrew Christian, Addicted, ES, Nasty Pig, Cell Block 13, LASC and Ruff Riders, most selling for full MSRP (or more). It also has many unknown brands at lesser price points. Watch out for their clearance sales. There are now 5 fitting rooms instead of 3 in the old place. Less or no waiting, but hopefully they add chairs or benches...someplace to put our stuff down when trying things on. Also older guys need to sit down to tie shoes. Whether you are a local ready to cruise the town, or a tourist about to jump on a boat and need "cruise" gear, shirts, shorts, socks, underwear, jockstraps, bikinis, thongs or even less, you'll find it here. They have a roomy section in the back for fitting rooms and there are about 4-5 of them....making trying out clothes...easy. After having spent two decades in Fort Lauderdale, Pride Factory relocated to Wilton Manors to be closer to its customer base a few months ago. Pride Factory specializes in men's swimwear, underwear, and apparel that appeals to the LGBT community. It opened in the '90s and quickly became a staple shopping experience for the LGBT community. The storefront had been in business in Fort Lauderdale for 15 years, but the owners made the call to sign a long-term lease in Wilton Manors to increase business and be closer to its clientele. Moving to Wilton Manors felt like the best move for Pride Factory staff so when their lease ran out in Fort Lauderdale, they took the opportunity to relocate. The U.S. Census named Wilton Manors the second gayest city in America in 2010 and the city takes pride in the title every day with its diverse population and attractions. The new location has more foot traffic as people walk through the area. Pride Factory is located in the Shoppes of Wilton Manors on Wilton Drive, which is home to Georgie's Alibi Monkey Bar and Hunters Nightclub. The Pride Factory is probably one of the nicest stores in Wilton Manors. As you walk in you're always greeted by an associate and they are very willing to help you out. The setup is easy to manage and the space is pretty large so you're not pushing through racks of clothing to find what you need. The store is full of underwear, shirts, shorts, pants, shoes- you need it, it's probably here. Oh yeah, don't forget about the naughty greeting cards and personal lubricants as well. If you need a singlet, they've got you as well as sling bags (not a sexual item) for your travel adventures. The one thing I like are the prices. While in my opinion gay clothing (clothing geared towards gay men) is always, always more expensive, I think the price points here aren't bad, plus they tend to have pretty decent sales which helps. Found this place online and it was easy to get to. The sore is neatly organized with a good variety of lubes and leather gear But, the speedo and underwear section was lacking....they had a few varieties from all the popular brands but, where is the good stuff? Yes, they carry the standard favorites such as Andrew Christian, N2N, and GoSoftwear but, only a few styles in each brand. I browsed through the swim wear section for about 5 minutes and decided I will rather buy board shorts from Wal-mart than waste my time here. This place is a must see on any visitor's tour of the "gayborhood" in Wilton Manors. It's the place to buy your beachwear, your underwear, and the items for under the underwear too (if you know what I mean). They have a wide selection of clothing, some novelty sex items, and even gift cards. The place is pricey, but they carry all of the well-known gay manufacturer brands so I don't think you can really fault them for the prices. Most of those brands are pricey even if you buy them directly from the manufacturer. The staff is ALWAYS super nice when I go. Every visitor I have from out of town gets their visit to the Pride Factory while they're here and each person I've taken has been able to find something there to buy for use during their visit. They're constantly changing up the inventory as well as the format of the store so even for the locals it's a new place every few months and that keeps the place feeling new and exciting. I go about twice a month myself just to see what new items they may have in stock. Do yourself a favor and check it out. PETTY MANAGEMENT WHO CARE ONLY ABOUT EVERY PENNY MORE THAN A SOLID CUSTOMER. BEWARE OF BUYING ANYTHING HERE YOU MIGHT TRY TO RETURN. THEY WILL SCREW YOU. I dropped $650 at this store in various shirts, shorts, hats (some costing over $100 each), and novelty stuff, and had a blast. The fake blonde who seems to manage the store had fun showing me more and more stuff to buy. Came back 3 days later to exchange a pair of shorts for a bigger size and return another pair of $20 shorts that I decided don't fit my body right. Oh no they might lose $20 on a previous $650 sale customer...they'll make SURE that doesn't happen. The fake blond acted like he had never seen me before, would not make eye contact (since it's a return day and not a buy day) and told his worker to refuse the return on the $20 pair of shorts because there was no tag on them and because suddenly "those are a clearance pair." But the shorts never had a tag. Not even when So I asked for store credit. NOPE! LMAO These petty GUYS are holding on for dear life. But they lost me, and everyone I'm going to tell to refuse to bring their money to this sorry petty store. Okay. So, a disclaimer of sorts ... I'm a straight guy who was on a mission to buy 100 gay pride flags. Let me explain. You see, not only am I straight, I'm also the Executive Director for The Humanity Fund, an advocacy organization dedicated to protecting and promoting freedom of speech and religion, especially the separation of Church and State. The Humanity Fund believes in equal rights for all, with a focus on lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender rights. And not only am I the Fund's ED, I'm also the guy who invented the world-famous Pabst Blue Ribbon Festivus Pole, and this year's pole, in support of marriage equality, will be wrapped in the colors of gay pride. Now you see where I am going? So returning back to the store's review. 1. Friendly, polite welcoming staff. 2. Lots of men. Wink! 3. It's clean, merchandised well ... seems that boy shorts and too small swimwear a big seller. Unfortunately, the red/white/blue speedo didn't come in my size of Lumberjack. 4. I was amazed at the huge assortment of c**k rings. Luckily, they did have my size, "Blessed by mother nature." 5. A nice assortment of adult "widgets". A few confused me a bit, so hopefully they came with an instruction handbook ... and a vat of lube. 6. Onto the clothing section, as a former clothes' horse, lots of nice stuff to chose from here. Sorry but they have really put me off.. Been a long time customer and spend close to $500 a year there, or least I did. I will not shop there ever again. Last time I was there I bought a $40 pair of shorts. When I got home I realized that I had picked up the wrong size. No biggie I thought, I had never even tried them on, all the tags were there, and they look just like they did when I bought them. I put them in the car so next time I was in the neighborhood I could stop in to exchange them. I tried yesterday but now I couldn't find the receipt. I went in to the store and went directly to counter with the shorts. The two associates could not be bothered to stop whatever they were doing to assist me and just yelled out "exchange". Someone did come over and I explained what had happened and that I only wanted to exchange sizes. He told me he would not let me do the exchange without the receipt. Now the shorts have their tag on them so that shows they came from the store, I was floored. Very bad customer service policy and I just can't risk spending my money in a store that will not be there to help if something goes wrong. read more

The employees should train the store manager on manners, when a customer is asking a question you don't act like a know it all and bark and say I don't know that t shirt company, you put down what your doing get your phone and look it up, there were 2 customers in the store and 3 sales people. For a company that is named Pride Factory it is interesting that they have taken the Pride and the rainbow colors off the sign. It's like they want to take the gay money but not show their pride and connection to the gay community themselves.
