Rosalyn went above and beyond at a fair price for her work. Another job was more complicated. My 2018 BMW 740 has a leather dashboard. Looked good when I purchased it but it's a poor design because leather contracts in the heat. It was a mess. After lots of research and several visits to competitors who declined the work, I spoke with Luis, who had actually repaired a similar dash. Luis and Rosalyn worked with Bama Glass to remove the windshield to perform the work. They replaced the leather with a high grade vinyl that was perfectly matched. The workmanship was excellent, and the price was fair; a fraction of the ($4,000+) cost of a new BMW dash board.

This business is one such example where it appears very confusing how someone can have a good experience. For starters, they hardly ever answer the phone, particularly if they see a number of a customer who is calling with an issue or a complaint. That's one of the interesting things about this place, but let's backtrack to the start of this unpleasant story. Initial interactions with this business happened in relation to a sofa and replacing its interior cushion. They provided an estimate that was less than other companies, the reviews on Yelp seemed to be good and everything was making sense to proceed with Super Upholstery Team. Sadly, the work they did was simply horrible, a completely uneven filling, with the back of the sofa filled way more than the front, thus resulting in a sliding surface rather than an even sofa. After mentioning the issue to them, they would simply refuse to come out to look at it and simply stopped answering calls. Had to drive there to talk in person and was basically sent away. Thus, there is very little positive I can say about this company other than perhaps pricing being lower than others. The quality of work and general level of customer service is as low as it gets.

I told them I would take it to my mechanic to look over the additional items they found and bring it back for the lift install. Charged me a $165 diagnostic fee that they told me would be applied to the job when I brought it back. After ordering the parts from them I wanted to review what I owed for the job before the installation started. They then told me the $165 diagnostic fee would NOT apply to the job. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? They want another $1150 for an alignment and to swap out control arms and front/rear shocks. INSANE!!!!! If you add the $165 diagnostic fee back in that is $1350. Oh yeah, don't forget the additional $100 shop charge. So now we are up to $1450. As my late father would say, "They are crooks." To date I'm out $1749.77 (includes part cost, $165 diagnostic fee, 3% credit card fee, and tax) for a Rough Country lift and a set of Icon control arms. I could have purchased the parts online for $1246.33 with tax and shipping included. Cancelled my installation with them. They are not getting a penny more from me. In hindsight, I should have tried to cancel the parts order too. Took my parts and will install myself or go to another shop. When I went to pick up my parts they wanted to charge me $185 tax. 10% tax on my parts is $140.00. They had some added bogus shop fee in with the tax. They ended up correcting it after I pointed it out. Shop around as their labor rate is $150/hr and there are shops in Birmingham with much less labor rates. Also took them 2 weeks to get parts that were in stock everywhere online. They also tried to give me some parts that had been on the shelf for a very long time and where opened. Box was covered in caked on dust and the label was very faded. Rough Country sticker in the box was yellow and faded. These parts were clearly old stock. They denied it. They ended up ordering all new parts, so they deserve a cookie for that. I was warned that they are very expensive but did not shop around. Don't make the same mistake I made. If you get work done at this shop you are getting taken to the cleaners on labor. I would also be concerned if they are using old stock parts as well. I realize running a business is expensive these days and labor rates are up but when you tell a customer that the diagnostic fee will be deducted from the cost of the job and you back track it will piss people off. They are already charging a premium and then pull a stunt like that. I'm fed up with stuff like this. I will take my business elsewhere.

Lol Her complaint was being charged for an estimate (she wouldn't pay) she admits seeing the sign that says "they charge $25 for estimates". People get estimates for all kinds of reasons (some with no intention on having the work done). It takes time to 'look up' vehicles, and price damages. The other guy Bryant's complaint was he called 2 weeks earlier and because they weren't WAITING with 'bated breath' for his arrival 'HE'S piszed! People are NUTS. Yelp apparently doesn't care who reviews or why! These are top quality guys. (I don't work there, but am applying soon) maybe I get it, maybe not, but either way they should be 5 stars according to all the REAL reviews from the rest of their customers!

We brought it to Highway 280 Paint & Body in mid-June, and they inspected the vehicle and determined that the damaged door would need to be replaced. After filing the claim with Progressive, we had a three-way phone call with our insurance adjuster and the manager at Highway 280 Paint & Body. During that call, we specifically scheduled a date to drop the Yukon off for repairs. The appointment was made roughly two weeks in advance, giving the shop time to prepare for the vehicle and the repair. We dropped the Yukon off on July 20 as scheduled. When we arrived, the manager acted as though he wasn't expecting the vehicle and said he didn't have the insurance estimate. I pulled it up and sent it to him while standing there. The Yukon then sat at the shop for more than a month. During that time, we received different explanations about what they were waiting on--parts, emblems, insurance approval, and eventually that the door needed to be replaced, even though they were the ones who told us in June that the door needed replacing in the first place. After more than a month, we learned that the vehicle had essentially sat there and wasn't actually being worked on until last week. Even then, the repair was still not completed. My biggest issue isn't simply that the repair took longer than expected. Things happen, parts get delayed, and insurance companies can slow down repairs. My issue is the lack of communication, organization, accountability, and urgency throughout this entire process. We scheduled this repair in advance. They knew what vehicle was coming, knew what the damage was, and knew a door replacement was needed. Meanwhile, our insurance rental coverage was running out while our vehicle sat at their shop. I finally asked them to put our Yukon back together so we could pick it up and take it somewhere else. After being a repeat customer, I hate that this is the experience that caused me to leave a one-star review. But based on the way this repair was handled, I cannot recommend Highway 280 Paint & Body. The entire operation felt extremely disorganized, and the customer service and communication were nowhere near what I would expect from a professional body shop. If you're considering having work done here, I would strongly recommend asking very specific questions about when your vehicle will actually be worked on--not simply when they can accept it and let it sit on their property.
