Further details: The owner of Eyecare Kids, SooJin Nam, is an exceptional optometrist who is friendly, expertly skilled, provides a thorough examination and clearly explains the outcome. During a conversation with her, she noticed a problem with my right eye that I was totally unaware of. She suspected that I had a rare defect and her subsequent thorough eye examination confirmed her suspicion. She then referred me to a specialist neuro-optometrist to identify whether, as she suspected, that I was born with the defect and therefore needed no further treatment or whether the defect had developed recently, which would need specialist treatment. SooJin also provided advice of the highest quality on how to minimise deterioration of my existing macula degeneration problem and of the best multifocal lenses for my eyes. Over forty years of visits to optometrists, none have ever detected the rare defect in my right eye. Similarly, none have ever provided the high quality macula degeneration advice that I received from SooJin Nam. In addition, none have explained the differences in performance for the range of multifocal lenses available. I have seen how well SooJin interacts with children and I am sure that her other optometrists have been appointed because they provide the same high quality service that she provides and sets for her clinics. The broken hinge wasn't able to be fixed and the other optical shops couldn't make a pair of glasses quickly or find suitable replacement frames that would fit her older style of lenses. I found this shop on Google and took a chance. One of the owners - Shahe Nazarian - greeted us and took care of us in the most professional manner. My mother is 75, anxious, particular, and is in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's. Shahe was so patient and kind and reassuring. She took her time finding us a selection of frames that would fit the shape of my mother's lenses. She always worked with a smile even when my mother repeated her worried questions or when she had trouble communicating clearly. Her husband, Joseph Nazarian took care of placing the lenses into new frames and fitting them to my mother's face. I was so worried that my mother wouldn't be able to see properly for the rest of our trip. Her condition makes her very resistant to change and at first she was reluctant to embrace these new glasses, but I think it will all work out and I truly appreciate the kindness of everyone at this shop. They made a difficult situation a success.

Was recommended a frame that was very suitable for my face and the lens recommendation too was of top quality, with blue light blocking embedded into the glass itself (not just a film applied). Cheaper than OPSM too. Worth supporting this family business over the big chains. If you have an OPSM prescription or eye test done there, they can use that info as well by calling up OPSM.
