I usually spend quite a bit of time shopping for new frames, and in particular, I insist on frames that are not branded by some designer. That is basically the whole collection at Eyecare Plus. No silly designer brands. Just really high-quality, fashionable frames. It's getting harder and harder to find frames that aren't made in China these days, and the quality of European workmanship is really superior. Important if you expect your frames to last more than a year. I ended up choosing a cool pair of German-made ic! frames, and I've been getting compliments on them ever since, as they are very distinctive. The service is great. Unobtrusive if you're just looking-- and everything is available to try, you don't have to ask to get into locked cabinets. I went in once just to look, and came back again when I was ready to choose. When I was ready to narrow down my choices, the staff were actually helpful and gave me honest opinions about the ones I was trying. They didn't just tell me I looked great in everything. In fact, the salesperson (I think his name is Mike) recommended a different pair by the same manufacturer, and it turned out he was right-- they did suit me better. He was very critical about getting the right fit, making sure the frames sat across my nose at the right level and the way they wrapped behind my ears (I have a small head). He rejected a couple pairs which he said didn't fit me properly, and I appreciated that he took my choice so seriously and wanted me to have the right fit. Very professional. This seems like a small, independently run franchise. The optometrist, Chris Burgess, was very thorough and pleasant. All around nice people to do business with.

The optometrist was clearly having a bad day and would have to rate as one of the most unpleasant people I have ever met in my life. She was super mechanical and mean! Looks like I will go back to bondi junction spec savers to the lovely staff there.... Bad staff selection BUPA you won't have many happy customers with little miss nasty pants working here!!!

They have collections from uncommon Australian and overseas based eyewear designers, so you will most likely walk out with eyewear that no one else in Sydney will have. You won't find Prada, Chanel or Gucci here. The staff there really make an effort to make sure you find the perfect pair and have a great sense of style! Recommend this optometrist if you want to look unique, stylish or just plain cool. Very eastern suburbs :)

I have had previous surgeries to my eyes which have given me dry eye syndrome, conjunctival scarring and scleral thinning. I cannot wear normal contact lenses. The last time I tried it was very scary... I literally had to run to a chemist for eye drops and then to the bathroom to take them out because I had intense pain and pulling sensations. I have tried medications including restasis with minimal improvement. My last hope is scleral lenses which are extremely expensive customised lenses that trap a layer of fluid between the eye surface and the lense. The fitting process is intricate and takes a patient person, and although it's not over yet I'm hoping for a positive outcome. Either way I appreciate the dedication of the Eye Practice and I highly recommend them. (They have some nice frames too) :)

Highly comprehensive with their eye checks. I am an Ortho K client, which basically means I wear hard contact lenses at night, that prevent my vision from getting worse, without having to wear contacts or glasses during the day. The staff at the Eye Practice explained to me thoroughly what the process involved and I have been satisfied tremendously for years. Great range of both sunglasses and prescription glasses but most importantly very professional and genuine service.

The examination of my eyes at Eyecare Kids was far superior to any of my visits to optometrists over forty years. Despite living in Melbourne, I now have my annual eye check at Eyecare Kids during my annual visit to Sydney. Further details: The owner of Eyecare Kids, SooJin Nam, is an exceptional optometrist who is friendly, expertly skilled, provides a thorough examination and clearly explains the outcome. During a conversation with her, she noticed a problem with my right eye that I was totally unaware of. She suspected that I had a rare defect and her subsequent thorough eye examination confirmed her suspicion. She then referred me to a specialist neuro-optometrist to identify whether, as she suspected, that I was born with the defect and therefore needed no further treatment or whether the defect had developed recently, which would need specialist treatment. SooJin also provided advice of the highest quality on how to minimise deterioration of my existing macula degeneration problem and of the best multifocal lenses for my eyes. Over forty years of visits to optometrists, none have ever detected the rare defect in my right eye. Similarly, none have ever provided the high quality macula degeneration advice that I received from SooJin Nam. In addition, none have explained the differences in performance for the range of multifocal lenses available. I have seen how well SooJin interacts with children and I am sure that her other optometrists have been appointed because they provide the same high quality service that she provides and sets for her clinics. I highly recommend Eyecare Kids for optometry services and advice to both adults and children.

Basically one pair of Designer Frames with lenses at my Optometrist was $550 with a rebate. The lenses are terrible and they constantly fog up. I love the frames but I can tell the glasses were just thrown together. Also the fact that the optometrist rang me close to harrassment to try out some Contact Lenses for free , of course. I had to avoid him in the street. Not long after I find this cool place and I love that I can get 2 pairs of specs for less than $400 with no rebate. I hadnt heard of Bailey Nelson until they opened in the Shire . Since googling, Im well impressed. Story goes , a couple of hipsters started the business in Bondi and like to help people save money, so they cut out all the unneccessary middlemen. At B&N They rang my previous Optometrist to confirm my prescription and had the glasses made up in a week . Its not my imagination but the lenses are really clear and I wasnt asked if I want the works , like Fog Free, Glare Free, Scratch resistant , Break Free etc . Honestly the BS that we have to answer , who would say no ? No Im good thanks I want my glasses to fog and break easily . As I know that it costs about a dollar to make them and you are all parasites but lets waste more time. How thin would you like to go ? well I still want to resemble Coke Bottles of course NOT. They dont do this at B&N . Also they dont have a big neon sign on the side to advertise their brand . Its descretely displayed on th inside of the arm. Im thinking they would update quite regularly as they are fashion forward . The same colours come in different frames for different shapes etc. Makes so much sense to me. I will always buy my glasses here now.
