Walkway: when Scott put in the forms, it was designed with a curve, which I didn't expect. Naturally he could redesign if needed. But, with just a little tweak, I fell in love with it! He also made sure it was pitched properly so any water will run to the driveway. Driveway: I had a flooding issue because the cracked slabs sunk a bit. He removed them without damaging the remaining slabs. The new ones were poured & pitched perfectly. No flooding! Also, when my cat ran through the wet concrete & made deep impressions they were able to fix it without an issue. Price was very reasonable & the work is great. Highly recommend! Power Tree came out and provided an estimate within a couple of days. Many of the other tree…read morecompanies kept giving me excuses on why they couldn't come out. Power was also 10-25% less expensive than the other estimates I received. Once I approved the estimate, they were out in a week to do the work. Day 1 was a full day to remove two trees. Both were ~50-60 feet (oak and ash) and were in the backyard that was not accessible by a bucket truck so they had to climb it. Day 2 was 2-3 hours of work to grind the two stumps. The lead time for the other overpriced companies were at least 1-2 months out. Power's crew also did a great job of minimizing any damage to the lawn considering the amount and weight of wood they have to remove.

We mentioned that we had some landscaping work we wanted to do and they went out of their way to be accomodating and helpful. Everyone from the top to the bottom was extremely friendly, capable and neat. The work was done on time and by their expressed schedule. The level of creativity and responsibility for our property was amazing. They went over and above what was in their contract, we are extremely pleased and would recommend them to everyone. We have dealt with many contractors and find Cal and Shan's the top of the list! Their philosophy is that they will treat your property as if it was their own, and they follow it meticulously. Their workmanship was phenomenal.

We had Cal and Shan's replace our back concrete steps and pour a concrete patio in 2021. Mostly…read moregood, except... the landing between the steps and the patio was poured incorrectly, sloping toward the house and causing rainwater to leak under the wall into the enclosed sunroom. Todd resisted replacing the landing, suggesting instead making a drainage groove in the landing and installing flashing with sealant along the bottom of the wall. Against our better judgment, we went with his approach. It worked for a while, sort of, but water would still leak in with heavy rain and the problem got worse with time. I called again this year and talked to Ross, asking how they would recommend resolving the issue; he said they would contact us to schedule a time for Todd to come take a look, but I never heard back. Thus, we hired someone else to fix their mistake. It was an expensive project, was done incorrectly, and their followup/response was poor. I see lots of positive reviews online for them, but our experience is that if there is an issue with their work, they aren't likely to do much to make it right.

However, after the first rain, it became clear that the drainage issue had become far worse. Where we use to get minimal pooling on in the spring, we now had a pond.
