A couple of things-- I didn't see Lei, I saw a different aesthetician, and I would have given this experience 4 stars if my lashes had stayed put. This place is suspect! First off, they like to talk to you via text message without picking up the phone and actually calling you (which I thought was so rude and unprofessional). Who does that?! I had an appointment, showed up on time for my appointment, got them done, looked in the mirror, eyelids were glued shut and burned like hell. Finally she unglued my lids, put a fan on them to dry them after my eyes kept filling up with water from the glue burn. I then left the premises, got home and the lashes looked okay but my eyes were red an stayed red for two days. Then four days later, my lashes were falling out one lash here, two lashes there on my pillowcase, then four lashes in my bathroom sink, then the next morning when I woke up, there were about three more lashes and by the fourth day, all of the lashes had disappeared. I called and spoke to Aziz and told him the lashes had all came out and he said he would call me back and never did. I ended up calling him back. He then stated that it must've been the glue, etc. I then asked if I can get them re-done and he agreed but then stated that they were booked and he would check the schedule, call me back and try to fit me in for a Saturday appointment. It's going on almost two months now and I NEVER heard from him. I'm so upset at the fact that he never called me back to try to work something out for me. I feel that if the customer is unsatisfied with your services, the busines owner should try to make it right for the customer especially if they paid money for the services. I think it's very rude to completely ignore someone who trusted your services enough to have given you a chance although I could've gone somewhere else. But I will no longer worry about it. Awful!!! I highly suggest that you do not patronize this business. Long story short, I wanted to purchase a groupon, so I called first to see if I can get an appointment. I was told, by Aziz, not to purchase the groupon and to just pay them directly. Sounds fine, but they are trying to get around paying the groupon fee. The problem with this is that I lose any support/protection that I would receive from groupon if I were to have a dispute regarding the business honoring a voucher. Well, I paid for a full set of lashes and a 4 week fill in. At my full set appointment, I was told I could call back and make my 4 week appointment. At 2.5 weeks after my full set, I call to make my appointment for my 4 week. I was told NOTHING, at either location, was available. This was probably a lie. I tried to come in early in the day, late in the evening, but the business was not able to accommodate me. Then, Aziz says, come in on X day. That day was at 5 weeks. I said okay. And we got off the phone. I WAS NOT told that I would be charged anything extra and I assumed he was accommodating me at 5 weeks because I had prepaid and he felt it was the right thing to do since he didn't have any appointments for 4 weeks. When I walked in for my appointment at 5 weeks, I WAS NOT told that I would be charged anything extra. After my service was complete, I tipped the service provider, asked to use the restroom and then proceeded to leave. I was then accosted by Aziz and was told I needed to make my next appointment. When I told him, I would call later because I didn't know when I'd be back, he then said, I owe him $100 for my service because I came at 5 rather than 4 weeks. I was livid! Why didn't he tell me this on the phone? Why didn't he tell me this when I walked in? Why wouldn't he honor the deal we had? Why? Why? Why? He claimed he sent an invitation for the appointment with the extra charge details. He KNEW that I never confirmed the appointment in the email so that means that I never read it or agreed to his fee in the fine print. Why couldn't he have simply just told me, I see that you didn't confirm that email invitation (with the bogus extra charge in the note section at the bottom) so I need you to know I am charging you for something you already paid for because I don't care about customer service and I could not accommodate you even though you called two and half weeks in advance. He didn't tell me this on the phone or in person because he wanted to slide it into an email invitation and hope I didn't see it, but would still be forced to pay it or lose out on any prepaid amount I had already spent. Unfair! He then called the police on me. Once I explained the situation to the police, the officer understood my side and didn't agree to charge me with anything. The only problem was that Aziz could get a magistrate to bring charges. If he did that, I wouldn't be around to tell my side of the story. I couldn't chance it. It was a tragic day. I paid him the $100 because I don't have time to deal with this type of nonsense. I felt like I was taken advantage of with my only recourse being to sue him. The lashes aren't that great. I visit this place searching for a new lash tech. Horrible work! My lashes were done on Friday afternoon, and on Saturday my lashes started to fall off. I was planning to go to an event on Sunday evening. I had to run to Mac for false lashes. Things you'll want to know: They charged me for mink, then gave me synthetic lashes. Lei got glue in my eyes. To fix that, she put a fan on my eyes after I told her about the stinging. She also got glue in my hair on my first visit. When I went back, I brought a shower cap. These synthetic lashes started falling out right away and were mostly gone by the 3rd week. I went out of the country immediately after getting them, so I really couldn't go back to complain about the synthetic lashes or get them fixed. The BBB gave this company a grade of F. I wish I knew that before I went there. If you give them a bad review, they will retaliate by disclosing your first and last name. They did that to me, and they did that to someone else (see reviews). Lei posted my private information and I had to flag it for Yelp to remove. There are so many lies in Lei's response, like the lies about the discounts. I am not surprised. When I showed Lei the synthetic lashes that fell off, she initially tried to convince me that they were real mink. She finally admitted at the end of my refill the session that the lashes were synthetic. What happened: I bought a Groupon deal for $105 towards a purchase with Pretty Girls Make Faces. I asked to apply that amount to use towards mink lashes and pay the difference. Aziz would not accept the Groupon, instead, he told me to return the Groupon and offered me $200 as an introductory price for the mink lashes. I paid $200 + $40 tip + $240, but I never got mink lashes. Lei gave me synthetic lashes. At my first and only refill, I asked them about it. Aziz offered me $15 off my refill and $15 off my next refill. (Two discounts total.) I accepted the refill discount because I was in shock that this happened and didn't really know what else to do. I paid $140 for refill + tip (this included the $15 discount). But on my next appointment, I suggested that they make things right by comping the refill ($120) since that would be less than refunding me for the purchase price of the full set of lashes ($240) when they did not give me the product I purchased. Both Lei and Aziz refused. Aziz insisted that he gave me enough discounts. I replied that the first discount he gave me ($200 for mink full set) was to incentivize me to buy up from synthetic lashes. The other discounts he offered were the two $15 off discounts for giving me synthetic lashes. That's it. When I responded that I would take my complaint to my credit card company, Aziz finally offered to refund me $75. Then he cancelled my appointment. They were making me very uncomfortable, so I wanted the discussion to be done and to just leave. With this $75 refund, Aziz still charged me more money for the synthetic lashes than the Groupon price of $105. I ended up paying $380 on my two services ($240 for initial set + tip and $140 for refill + tip). With the $75 back, that makes a total of $305 for the two services. (Not the $170 Lei says. I have the two credit card statements as proof.) Just be careful if you go there. Ask Lei to show you what lashes she is using on you before she puts them on. I would not take it on faith. Lei was super sweet and did a great job. I did not appreciate her receptionist's attitude. Aziz needs an attitude check. I had purchased a Groupon originally for two sets of eyelashes. The first time I was not told that Lei herself would not be doing the lashes. Make sure you call and will be doing them. A girl named Brittany ended up doing mine, and apparently made them too long for my natural lashes to hold. So they ended up turning upside down into the wrong side randomly. When I returned about a month later they removed to the ones that Britney put on and redid my eyelashes with a new set. Although I had a great experience in the eyelashes look great did have two remarks. 1) I ended up having to see opthamologist because one of my eyelashes was glued into my eyes. And it made it so that I could not open my right eye without it watering uncontrollably. So if you have that issue go see your doctor immediately, he used a magnifying mirror and tweezers to get the eyelash out. 2) the glue used is not great for sensitive eyes. I purchased a Groupon for a full set of lashes and had my lashes done 3 weeks ago. I don't remember the name of the person who put them on (blonde female), but she managed to glue every top lash to my bottom lashes. It was a painful process. Having had my lashes done before, I knew this was not common. When she was done, I was surprised that she had not given me a full set - what I would call a partial set. Despite the fact that the Groupon was for a full set. I have had them done before and the volume was minimal this time around. She was very nice and very remorseful about the gluing of my lashes and offered to refill for free. Within 1-2 weeks, every lash was gone. I know how to take care of extensions and was very gentle with washing my eyes. Despite that, they all fell out well before my refill date. I could return for a free "refill", but it's simply not work the time, effort, and pain. The people are very nice, I have no complaints about their friendliness. I recently went as I had Gilt City for a Natural Lash which was up to 50 lashes per eye. Booking an appointment was somewhat complicated. I would encourage them to use some type of online service. But I am very appreciative I could coordinate my appointment via text. I got there 10 mins before my appointment. Was greeted signed papers etc. Slight back up so I was seen closer to 25 mins after my appointment time. The natural lash promo translated to a "corner set". That was not quite my expectation, and the lash lady filled my eye as I requested. She was quicker than in the past experiences. She was done in about 45 minutes. That was a plus! I went to Pretty Girls for my eyelashes for my wedding. I got a Groupon and had the first set put on about 2 weeks before the wedding, then Tinka gave me a touch up about 4 days before the big day. They did an incredibly good job. I had to wait in the waiting area about 30 min during my first appointment (they were behind schedule), but that was the only blip. Best MUA ever. I met Lei at a pre-presidential inaugural party at a friends house in D.C. I complimented her on her style, and we discussed my upcoming wedding. I messaged her a week later for a makeup trial. When I arrived at her studio the first thing I noticed was how organized everything was. All of her brushes were clean, and I saw hand sanitizer and brush cleansers on her work station. Big Bonus for me. I showed her pictures of looks that I liked and we discussed the best colors for my skin. The trial went smoothly and her husband Aziz took photos for me and later sent them to my fiance and me. I had the trial early in the morning and was able to see how well the makeup lasted, and how it looked in pictures. She used high end MAC products. Needless to say the makeup lasted all day and well into the night. Lei created my perfect wedding look. My wedding was in Kansas City, so I also met with other makeup artists in that area, but no one came close to what Lei did. Lei's husband Aziz took care of looking for flights to Kansas City, and was courteous to check with me before booking. Another big thumbs up. On the day of my wedding Lei arrived with a professional makeup carrier and with her A-game on. She was detail oriented and thorough. She primed and prepped my skin, and gave me that wedding glow every bride wants. Not only was she attentive to me, but she did blush for my bridesmaids just because she wanted too. She has an eye for beauty and truly likes what she does. She took care of giving a lip gloss,lipstick, and blotting sheets to my maid of honor to touch me up after the ceremony before photos. Just prior to my reception, I changed out of my white wedding gown and into my sari and Lei adjusted my makeup to match my new outfit. As soon as I walked into the reception hall, Lei and aziz were standing there with the makeup suitcase, ready to start. She was able to change the look without having to take everything off, or layer more makeup on. She had pre-planned everything and with-in half an hour, I went from a blushing bride in white to a smoldering desi bride. If I could give her 6 stars I would. My makeup looked amazing and lasted all night. When I got my photos back I was even more impressed. Everything went so smoothly. I truly got VIP service. I have been going to Leigh regularly for a couple of years. She is the best in the business. Leigh is a true eyelash professional. She knows just about everything there is to know about lashes. I found Leigh after having a bad experience with another salon that offered deals on Living Social. I went to the other salon for a couple of months and they applied clusters of lashes and covered my lash line in a thick layer of glue. Leigh helped me to clean up the mess and showed me how properly applied lashes should look. It's a time consuming process and requires training and experience. It is difficult to find someone who truly has the training, experience, talent, patience and attention to detail to do it right. Leigh is a true professional. She's also an incredibly sweet person who always greets you with a smile no matter how busy she is. A few things to keep in mind: Some people react to the glue. I have very sensitive skin and it tends to react. Leigh uses at little glue as possible to minimize the reaction. Some technicians will cover the entire lash with glue, Leigh just applies it at the base of the lash and wipes you lash line clean during application. Pretty Girls charges by the amount of time between fills, not by how much you need done. If you wait a long time between appointments you will pay more. It's an art don't expect perfection. Sometimes my lashes have lasted a long time and looked great, other times not as much. There are so many factors that come into play: whether you react to the glue, whether you are exposed to humid conditions, rubbing your lashes (sometimes while you sleep), and just the natural growth cycle of your lashes to name a few things. Eye lash extensions are expensive. It's understandable why when you see the amount of time required for the work. My appointments typically run 1.5 hours and I have to come back every 2 -3 weeks. If you can't afford it think about doing it just for special occasions. I gave a price rating of Moderate keeping in mind that extensions are an expensive beauty service. I don't think you will find inexpensive lash extensions that are done properly. Leigh is in high demand she gets booked up for weeks in advance, although Aziz has always been very accommodating about switching my appointments when needed. I have not had my lashes done by any of the other technicians or at any location other than Mclean. read more

I have been getting my lashes done with Lei for a year now and her work is really amazing. Everywhere I go I get compliments on my lashes. I always do the volume mink lashes and they really opened up my eyes and look so fabulous. The most unprofessional and inconsistent business I've dealt with in a while. I will not speak on the specialist who actually does the lashes. (I never made my appointment due to constant cancellations) A friend of mine referred me here because she's a regular and loves the work done here. I bought a Groupon and I called to set my first appointment and spoke with a man I believed named aziz. He told me he'd call me back in a couple of hours and I agreed to wait for the call back. He proceeds to tell me he has no available slots and that they will be on vacation for 2 weeks and to call back when they return. Im slightly annoyed but I call back and everything is rescheduled. Mind you, my appointment is set for 3 weeks later! Kind of extreme but I felt it might be worth the wait! WRONG! I take off work and I clear my schedule to make this appointment to ensure I'm there on-time. I get half way there and I get a phone call 30 mins prior to my appointment saying it's cancelled due to the specialist having a virus. And that my appointment will be rescheduled! I was livid! And explained my frustration. He brushed it off and made a petty comment about how I can come in and get them done, but you'll just end up with the virus. The attitude behind his remarks was enough for me. I called Groupon and they refunded me ALL my money. I've read similar reviews but of course I didn't think much of it. Very unprofessional in dealing with customers. We hired them for hair and makeup for bridal party. We were not happy with how one of the client did not get a full service. When I wrote an email expressing concern, Aziz, Lei's husband called and basically started to give me a lesson on how to have a conversation. Extremely rude and very unpleasant. I asked to speak to his wife instead but he did not allow me to do so, stating she was unavailable. All I wanted was them to understand that it is not right to leave a job when everything is not complete. If they needed to leave, they needed to inform the person that was still outstanding to get their service completed that they were leaving. Let's me first say Tamara is 5 STARS... this review is not a reflection of her. Now this "lash business" is not where it's at they work out of a salon on L street in DC too. The quality is sub par at best. The manager Ahsis is rude, combative, and knows nothing about customer relations, lei the other lash girl's work is on the level of a you tube trainee. If you come to this place you will be wasting your money. Extremely disappointed with their service. First, Aziz, Lei's husband shows up at 9am outside of the bridal suite and starts asking me, the bride, where are all the other girls and he needs to collect the payment right now. i told him that they are not all there but will pay you one by one before each one gets their service done. this was after 3-4 emails already stating that each payment must be made in full at time of service. during my moms hair session, Aziz once again asked her to pay right then and there as if my 68 year old mother is going run away as soon as she's done. who acts like that? if they did a great job at actually doing make up, i would probably forgive this extremely poor customer service. but the make up was okay at best and the hair sytlists they brought were way below average. my sister in law had to have her style taken down twice and then just had her hair blown out. worst of all, the stylist left without completing the last hair style and didn't even tell my friend that she was leaving. i completely regret hiring them for my wedding. we completed 7 hair styles and 5 make up styles and it was a complete waste of money. their customer service is some of the worst i have ever dealt with them and i would never recommend hiring them (or at least until Lei fires her husband Aziz and hires someone with actual customer service skills). read more
