I was impressed with the decor and the cleanliness of her facility. When I sat down for my consultation, we had a chance to give each other some background about ourselves and I was impressed with her formal training in her line of work. Laurie Lei expressed how imperative continuing education is, regardless of time spent in the profession. That alone, speaks volumes as to the kind of service I knew I would be receiving from her. As the consultation continued, she was careful to explain in detail what the entire process entailed, what measurements and markings she was making, and that I would be able to give input to the process before we began the semi-permanent makeup process. Her advice is, less is more. Taking into consideration the way that we age, how harsh lines and colors will wear and fade over the course of our lives was emphasized. I hadn't even though of that! After our consultation was done, she asked me several questions related to my medical background so safety precautions, if any, could be taken before agreeing to my semi-permanent makeup session. Being in the medical field, this did not phase me, but I could see how some people would wonder why any of that pertains to a beauty service. Asking these questions are so important so that the client can be advised the risks and benefits for receiving the service. Certain medications can cause bleeding or thinning of skin; medical conditions or previous infection could cause prolonged healing, which could adversely affect the result of your beauty service, so please consider all of these when inquiring. And most importantly, please answer honestly!
