Jarita's on Tinker St. in Woodstock is tiny- but don't be fooled by this minimalist- yet intimate spot because there's more than meets the eye. Jay who owns Jarita's, has a loyal fanbase and after 40+ years in town, that says a lot. And prices are respective to the area. Besides the gorgeous fresh arrangements he (and his team?) design(s), he carries dry florals, Lavender, handmade flower post cards and other gift items. With my husband's allergies she was able to provide a variety of options to make him comfortable and still allow me to still have the flowers I wanted for our day. Everything was priced in such a way that was really showcased worth of her work while also being a reasonable. She understood I did not want the typical FTD looking funeral arrangements. What I wanted was for my moms flowers to feel natural and garden like. The Rosery worked with hydrangea, peonies, iris's, mimosa, curly willow and lots of forsythia. They coordinated all the arrangements ordered by friends to match what I had on order. It was beautiful. Mom looked like she was asleep in a garden. Both friends and family were amazed. I thank the Rosery for working outside the box and creating such beauty for my moms final moment. The flowers were STUNNING!!!!! everything arrived smoothly at the venue, the flowers were colorful and vibrant and EXACTLY the vibe we were going for. We got standard things like centerpieces, bouquets, boutonnieres, flowers for the flower girl but also he had options for additional touches like flowers on the dinner plates, which was a beautiful touch. From our consult, he came up with a flower list and a price well within our budget. When changes were needed he made them at cost, he even made beautiful table and escort cards when we asked last minute. The arrangements and bouquets were beautiful -- we had worried that when we asked for simple, we would get bare bones, but we got exactly what we wanted, simple but bountiful, bursting with color but not garish. If you're having any kind of event that needs floral work in the greater Woodstock/Kingston area, I can't recommend Jim and Elderberry enough.
