As one who was struggling with the technology of a new camera plus LightRoom and PhotoShop, I emerged with much more confidence. Then the trip to Sylvan Heights Bird Park in Scotland Neck, N.C., was the icing on the cake. This reserve, set up mainly to educate the public and protect endangered species, is a perfect place for practicing photography among thousands of beautiful birds, in settings that feel like natural ones. Even the birds seem happy there!

They said they could repair the artwork, informed me that the media we used might cause some wrinkles in the work once framed. We were given pricing and sent an invoice though email with allowed me to complete the transaction at home. The repair is pictured below. I am kind of in awe of their work. They told us they would display the work in their window - my son keeps talking about it. He was surprised and delighted to see it and we can't wait to hang it up today. It was their 2nd annual art exhibition to benefit homeless animals and many were there to support the animals as well as the artists. The artwork was beautifully displayed at ArtSource Fine Art Gallery at North Hills , which was the perfect venue to host the closing reception on Thursday, 6/30 from 6-8pm. The Exhibition featured over 30 pieces of art provided by over 20 well-known local artists. The artwork reflected a variety of themes as well as different mediums. There was great wine courtesy of Bottle Mixx , music, fantastic artwork, and adoptable animal guests at the  closing reception! Flights at the Renaissance and Rocky Top Hospitality provided tasty hors d'oeuvres and desserts! I thought the gallery although small in size showcased art wonderfully and provided the perfect intimate setting for this event.

The whole store is devoted to books with a few convenience store items thrown in. The prices are your standard book store prices and they have all the latest releases. They also do have a pretty decent sale selection of bargain books. The titles aren't new releases, but they aren't ancient either, it ends up being a pretty good deal if you find something you like. I always like to browse here when I have extra time before my flight. They also have a display of Papyrus cards which has saved me more than once when I'm on my way to a wedding or for a birthday and I didn't have time to pickup a card before I left. Recommend checking them out when you have extra time at RDU Terminal 2!

Frameworks is my "go-to" shop for anything having to do with framing…read more My sister in law turned me onto Frameworks a few years ago when she needed restoration work done on a 150+ year old mirror. Charles and crew did an amazing job and for the work done, I thought the cost was reasonable. Since then, I've had about 20 pieces framed from original photography, serigraph prints, original paintings and a few reframing jobs. It goes without saying that the work was really great and I thought the craftsmanship was excellent. Everyone on the staff are always very friendly and helpful. Charles and family are truly great to work with and Susan is especially good with helping to select the right color mats and framing finishes. She has a great eye.

I made an appointment and brought all of the items with me. The lady (her name escapes me), helped my pick out colors to match the items, frame, glass, etc. I did have to put a payment down when placing the order and made the remainder of the payment when I picked it up. The piece turned out beautiful! Even better than I had imagined.
