I hired Prestige (after they had approached me 3 different times with subsequent lower bids, they really wanted the job) to trim trees in my front yard and remove 11 evergreens in my back yard that had become far too big for our lot. They removed the trees by felling them onto the lawn without any de-limbing first, this wouldn't be a problem had they repaired the damage they did to the lawn. They left many large gashes and holes in the lawn and also many large limbs were driven into the ground and instead of removing them, they just used a chain saw to cut them at the level of the grass and then raked saw dust over the holes and limbs. They also broke main limbs on a Japanese maple and crab apple tree. When this was brought up they said they would come and spray/fertilize the trees. These limbs are fairly damaged and will need bracing and mending if the trees are to be saved, this service was refused. They also damaged our sports court by felling trees onto the court instead of conscientiously de-limbing and bringing the trunk down in manageable segments. All of these concerns were brought up to Denis and his reply was that we got a good deal. Had I had known a good deal would involve damaging my lawn and requiring more money to be spent saving trees and replacing sections of the sport court, I never would have hired them. If all you are looking for is a "good deal" then this might be the company you want to hire. If you are looking for professionalism and expertise, I would recommend that you look elsewhere. read more

We hired Prestige Tree and Landscape prior to reading the Yelp reviews. Unlike other reviews, we were PLEASED with the work performed. We found the workers to be industrious and efficient. To our surprise, the firm even hauled off leaves and branches we had collected prior to their arrival. Tree limbs were trimmed, ivy was removed, leaves raked and they used a blower to clean away small debris. They did a great job! They offered a reasonable price and performed above our expectations. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They will overpromise and underdeliver. The owner argued with us when told we were unsatisfied with the job his employees did. In addition they removed a strip of grass when specifically told not to. Tyler, the owner, threatened us with legal action when we notified him we would not be moving forward with any more work from him. Dennis, the "estimator" would show up at random hours without prior communication and knock disturbing us and waking up our toddler. Who runs a business like this? read more

What a weird way to run a business  On Aug 15th I put a thing in on Thumbtack to get some trees trimmed. The owner of Prestige Tree and Landscape got right back to me. Great I thought, fast service. He said he could come over in an hour and give me a quote. Awesome I thought! He never showed up. I just wrote it off to be too good to be true--the end of that. Around 7pm he shows up on our porch with no notice or anything. Fine, I let him look at my trees. He said he could do it for $300.00. I said I'd have to wait to see what my husband said. He pushed and said he could do it that evening. Um no, not at all. I got him to leave.  The next evening around 7:30pm some other guy shows up on our porch. My husband answered the door and this guy said he had a paper written up to get our trees trimmed. I told my husband NO, we are not using them, too weird, too scammy feeling. Thankfully he didn't sign anything within this "contract". That guy leaves. It's over and done with those people or so we think.  This morning around 9:30am  9-6-24, some guys show up on our porch. We have no idea who they are or what they want. I sadly don't know Spanish and can't communicate with them. I think they looking for another house, so I closed the door. They keep knocking and I'm not opening it back up. My husband starts getting phone calls, and he finally answers. It's those guys. The owner of Prestige sent them to our house to trim our trees. What?! No contract, no contact, no nothing. His workers just showed up thinking they have a job. He told them no, not interested and we're not getting our trees trimmed anymore. We aren't interested in using this company at all. That is wrong on this owner's part, it was embarrassing for those workers, and they sure are being worked wrong. I feel awful for his workers.  Who runs a business like this?! After a quick Google search, the owner has horrible reviews. So many red flags. I'm glad we didn't go through with him.  Okay, now to add this on. 10:40am Tyler called my husband then myself. My husband texted him that we were no longer interested and to have a great day. I contacted Prestige Tree and Landscaping a month ago, and they immediately sent out an arborist. I received a high value bid on service and accepted. However, they have yet to come out to my HOA community in Tooele. I was first told they would show up on a Wednesday, as I the arborist showed up on a Friday. I myself had to call the company after they failed to show up, every time; the failure to show count is now up to three. I took a day off work to wait on them after their "operations manager" told me they'd be out immediately. I don't know if I am being lied to, if they're simply lazy and don't want to drive out here, or they just simply are not good at their job. I'd leave a one star review, but their arborist, Denis, merits them the second star. read more

Two weeks ago I had Tyler's crew come to my property to do some tree work. I needed a fence line cleared for a new fence to be installed. His crew trimmed and cut everything like we talked about. As they were chipping all of the branches however, Tyler asked me if I wanted wood chips behind my shed to keep the weeds down. I agreed, thinking he would chip the material from my yard and spread it behind my shed. Nope. He unhooked the wood chipper and backed his truck up and dumped a truckload of yard waste from other job sites. I immediately told him I was concerned about the volume of material. He dumped it right where our fence is supposed to go. He said 'don't worry, my guys will spread it all out'. I hesitatingly gave the okay, not realizing that the bulk of the material was not wood chips but rotted leaves, branches and other yard waste. When I came back later that evening to examine things it literally wreaked. There were flies and wasps covering the the material he had spread behind my shed. It was about 1' deep in places, and piled up against the side of my shed. I immediately texted him and told him I was not happy with the volume of material and the fact that most of it was rotten leaves, not wood chips. In addition to this, he left all of the wood from the tree work that was too large to chip in a huge pile at the back of my property. I told Tyler I wanted both the wood pile and the material behind the shed removed. He said his guys would be back soon to pick up the wood pile, but that I had accepted the material behind the shed and he was not going to remove it. I spent the next week texting him, trying to get both removed. He took days to reply to my texts and had no interest in making things right. He kept saying his guys would pick up the wood pile this day or that. They never did. Finally I told him I'd have a landscaping crew come remove the wood pile and rotten material, and then take him to court to get my money back. That got his attention. Suddenly he was responding to my texts within minutes. But he was still fight me about the issue. He refused to admit that he had used my yard as a dumping ground for rotted yard waste from other projects, so he could save himself from having to pay to dispose of it elsewhere. He still never came to remove the pile of wood (which I had paid for as part of the tree pruning job). I contacted the company that is installing our fence to see if the material Tyler spread behind our shed would be a problem. They verified that it would cause issues with setting the posts and bottom rails at the right height. Even when I told Tyler about this he argued with me and was unwilling to make it right. In the end, I paid a different tree company $1000 to remove the pile of wood and rotten leaves/yard waste Tyler left. This was after I had paid Tyler $2000 for the job. He now owes me $1,500. The company that removed everything was absolutely appalled at the volume of material that was left back there. He said 'as a certified professional arborist he's shocked someone would call this rotted trash "wood chips".' He asked me what the name of the company is that left all of this trash and the pile of wood. When I told him it was Prestige tree and landscape he moaned and told me he's had tons of clients coming to him with horror stories from working with this company. Tyler told me that he's done this to "7000 customers in (my) area" and that I'm the first one to complain. Look at the google reviews and Yelp reviews and the better business bureau complaints for this company. I am far from the first person he has done this to. And I am far from the first person who has complained. As soon as Tyler gets his money he's on to the next job, whether he's done with yours or not. I wouldn't recommend Prestige tree and landscape for any job. If I could give less than 1 star I would. read more

Tyler came out to work on some trees in my neighbors yard. I was asked if they could get access to my back yard for cleaning up any debris that falls over the fence. I gave permission for this. He then proceeded to park a truck and trailer in my driveway blocking my wife's car in. He left the job site and no one there could move the truck when she needed to leave. After taking 3 days to do the 1 day job he has left my yard a mess and left logs next to my shed. He also damaged the fence and my hot tub cover. He stated he would be out Monday to look at the damage and remove the logs and never came. He is now not responding to text messages any more. I will be filling a complaint with the Better Business Bureau but would urge anyone thinking of using this company to not. read more

I cannot recommend Tyler or his company. Tyler can cut down and his crew can trim trees, as long a you don't care when or if it happens, or if you will get your money back if he fails to perform. I had a landscaping job that needed to be done this 2020 season. in July Tyler indicated he would be glad to do, and that he was about two weeks out. After a month I had I have never had to fire a contractor but Tyler made representations but failed to perform. Tyler took my money and got a sprinkler sub, and had a crew spent a few hours trimming, for which he has been paid. Tyler failed to get a design plan that held up the sprinkler and new landscaping. Tyler failed to get his crew started in removing the old landscaping that had to come out, holding up his own sub. Hollow promises were made and broken without comment. By the end of September, I had to get someone who would get it done as promised. Once I did, the job (from obtaining a plan, plants and installation) was completed in less than two weeks. I had to pay for a design plan, the plants and the work for the removal of the old and installation of the new which was completed, and pay for sprinkling work as well. Disappointingly, Tyler has gone incommunicado and failed to refund the $4000 in the deposit that remains over his trimming and costs. read more

Worst experience I have ever had with a company. Needed a tree trimmed at my rental family home. Requested 24 hour notice to notify tenant - which proved impossible. Showed up at 5pm one evening. Didn't finish. Abandoned a worker in the backyard, who didn't know everyone else had left. Tenant charged his phone so he could get a ride. Left wood chipper blocking the shared back alley without permission and neighbors could not access. No communication on when they would return the next day. One worker had my tenant jump his car. Damaged neighbor's fence, left branches all over both neighbors backyards. Promised to remedy both issues but never did. Poor communication. One employee described Tyler as "total chaos". Tyler does everything on his timeline, his way, with no communication or planning and with no regard or respect to his clients. read more

First off, I would like to make it clear that all of the workers that came to our house were incredible. They were all friendly and hard workers. I had no issue with them. I hired Prestige Tree and Landscape, not because they were the least expensive, but because they were quick to respond and get me a quote. I figured that was a good indicator of a professional, well-run company. Turns out it was not. Scheduling was vague...they arrived a day or two later than they said they would. No big deal though. They got started on the job. The real issue started when I was not at home, but they were working in the yard. Tyler (the owner) came to the door and asked my wife for payment before they were even done with the job. On top of that, he asked for an extra $100. From reading other reviews, he pulls move this regularly. We should not have paid a cent until the job was done. I would have even been open to paying a 50% deposit to get started, but that is not how it was handled. Then they asked us to handwrite a note and sign it saying that we wouldn't hold them liable if they happen to hit a power line while grinding out a stump. Had there even been a semi-official form (like this is something they do for a living), I might have considered it. After they had left, I went out into the backyard and there was a 3-foot-high x 8-foot-wide pile of wood debris where we had them remove a tree. I then reached out to Tyler to ask when they would be out to finish up. He indicated that they were done and wouldn't be coming back out. When I asked about the pile of debris, he said that is normal and it is an extra fee to haul that away. After I pushed back on this, he agreed to come back and haul it away sometime in the next couple of days. I am writing this review two weeks later and it still has not been done. If he had actually followed up on this promise, you wouldn't be reading any of this review. The bottom line is that tree removal is expensive and for that kind of money you deserve a more professional experience. You will not get that with Prestige Tree and Landscape. read more

We discussed what they could do but I didn't sign anything and they showed up while I wasn't home and did the work but not to my specifications. Plus, I had already done my own work to save money and paid the same. My husband unknowingly just paid them without any questions. (I own the house) I didn't get my money worth. They continue to say they will return but I'm done asking and waiting. Very shady business practices. So upset. read more

At 5:00 I called to see where they were and they said they were running late because of the heat, but confirmed my address, and phone number and such and said they would be here "soon". I have used Prestige Tree to trim my trees for the last three years. I have been really happy with their work and their knowledge. They point out problems, potential problems and give suggestions. Sometimes they can provide the solutions but don't pressure for upselling. Tyler has been good to work with. I haven't needed to know exact dates when they would come but I never waited so long that I had to contact them again. I figure it's okay to be flexible as some jobs turn out to be bigger and take longer. Their pricing seems reasonable to me. I will continue using them and recommend them to my neighbors. read more

Absolutely cannot recommend this company. They provided a written bid in the amount of $1000 for removal of a tree on 9/11/20. They indicated the tree would be removed the next week. They indicated on 9/16 that removal would happen "today or tomorrow." Did not happen. On Monday 9/21, the indicated it would be removed on 9/23. Did not happen. 9/24 and 9/25, they ignored attempts to contact. 9/26 indicated it would be removed today, 9/28. Called today stating they wanted to charge more to remove it now. When informed they provided a bid and cannot change that bid on a whim, they indicated they would cancel the job. I let them know there would be consequences for behaving in this manner, and here we are. Their competitor stated this was how they would behave, and I even let them know this is what their competitor was saying, thinking it was slander/libel. Nope, it is simply the truth. read more

Prestige was trimming trees for my neighbor, so I asked them for a quote to prune my huge cottonwood tree. Tyler came over immediately to give me a bid. Of three bidders on the job, he was the only one to point out evidences of an insect infestation in the tree. His bid for the pruning was also the lowest of the three, and he was able to schedule the trimming 2-3 weeks before the other bidders, so we hired him. About 3 hours after agreeing to the work, Tyler sent one of his guys over to treat the cottonwood and some buggy ponderosa pines by drilling small holes near the bases of the trunks and injecting capsules of nutrients and insecticide. We paid him for this work right after he completed it. He scheduled the pruning for 2 days later. Tyler and his guys came back on the appointed day and began the pruning. They worked straight through on trimming and cleanup and completed the job in 1 1/2 days, as he had committed to. We paid for the pruning work right after it was completed (no advance deposit). It was fascinating to watch them use ropes, pulleys, etc. to get up into the tree and then to carefully lower large branches to the ground. The tree is near a fence line, and our neighbors have a swimming pool and cars near our property, so we were very concerned about where the branches fell. Everything went fine! We were very pleased with the way they did the work and with how they kept their commitments to get it done quickly. read more

Texted them because never can talk to them, and they would say we delivered ALMOST two cords of wood is what we delivered, WHO says we ALMOST delivered two cords????. From the time i questioned them, they never tried to reconcile anything and got even rudder!!!! Still owe us two cords of wood because they were always late and short on cords, not what we expected...... They did a good job trimming my Willow tree in December, the clean up could have a little better. but the bad part is two of my top rails of my fence where damaged. I have called and texted them for the last 6 months, all I get is a run around. so now I get to buy the rails and fix my own fence. I am done with them. read more

Nick and Elliot came out to remove two quakies that were 29 years old that had been blown into our house. The trees were over 30 feet tall and I was nervous that they could do it without causing damage to our house. Nick climbed up the trees and removed them a chunk at a time, dropping off the cut parts to the ground without hurting the house at all. I was very happy with their services! read more

no clue what landscaping is.. Needed a mound levelled to put in a gazebo. They said they would get my weeds , spray trees, grindy stumps, get dead branches & level out mound for 2,800.00. started end of July. Were at my house a day and half, tore up my lawn with their tractor, broke my sprinkler line, Started the weeds, the stumps, the mound, never finished anything. rained next day & where they were working was mud, The mud hole wouldn't dry out so I finally had MY LAWN GUY look and he said the sprinkler line was broken. The sprinkler pipe was sticking up 3 feet in the air. so I called Prestige & the guy came out and instead of capping it tied a knot in the hose. They didn't even know they broke it. A&THEN TRIED TO CHARGE ME $800.00 BECAUSE IT COST THEM MORE! It's been a month & they haven't been back just excuses.. They first came out to my home to remove 3 tree stumps and all 3 trees were fairly small. It was a surprise when they actually showed up because it was days after regularly schedule but I could understand because there was bad weather the days before. BUT they should have let me know I was post-poned and when they were coming. I had left a voicemail for them days prior about wanting to do the extra two trees while they were there and no response. Luckily, when talking to them, they were able to do it same day. All was competitively priced well!! They mostly did a good job but left some pretty heavy stumps/roots that they missed that were hard for me to dig out. And the two trees in the back they only grinded down to ground level leaving me to call them back to come finish the job for an extra $100 that they quoted. I was fine with that but that conversation happened March 26 and I bought trees to plant on March 25th. After 4 email/call/text requests to find out what week they were coming out, after no response, I finally told them to let me know or I will cancel. Of course they responded to that message letting me know that they should have been there Saturday. When I told them they didn't come then they said they'd be over tomorrow. Well when tomorrow came I texted with no response. After calling they said they were running late and maybe tomorrow. Well tomorrow was a rainy day so the day after I called and they said their machine was down until the weekend. I told them to forget it and called someone else to come finish their job, and this is as of today, April 10th. It took over 2 weeks of trying to get them to come back, or at least just tell me when they are, to finally say forget it. Sadly, each night I had put the trees in the shed at night, bring them out in the morning to prevent freeze. And then be sure to water every other day. Had these been planted I could have been at ease. The overall theme here is poor communication, non-reponsive, not professional, not apologetic, and flakey customer service. The Prestige Tree and Landscaping's crew arrived on time as expected. They set up quickly, positioning their large very professional utility truck and wood chipper in the street outside our house. They carefully placed orange traffic cones around the vehicle and got right to work. The crew worked hard and efficiently. They did extensive pruning and neem oil treatment to two of our very large trees. They neatly and professionally trimmed two shrubs, one a juniper that stands twenty five feet high. They neatly leveled a hundred foot long, 12 foot high hedge wall. They raked and hauled away huge piles of trimmings. When they were done our yard, shrubs and trees looked great! We couldn't be happier with our experience with Prestige Tree and Landscaping Inc. They were highly professional, punctual, polite and hard working. We would highly recommend them to anyone needing tree and yard service. A++ rating. read more

We have had a horrible experience with this company. A one day job has so far taken over a week and they still have not finished the job. They got their money and ran. We are FURIOUS with them! We have concrete people waiting to come pour an RV pad and can't because these folks NEVER show up when they say they will. I ordered and paid $150 for 1/4 cord of oak firewood. I got half that amount of wood and they said they won't reimburse the difference. They recognized they were short on wood and promised to deliver the remain wood in 10 days. Two weeks later they never showed up and I called and they promised delivery in the next week and still nothing was delivered. This goes on for the next 5 months. These people are liars and cheats. They will cheat you so buyer beware. They take your money and will not deliver as promised. read more

If it were possible to give 0 stars I would have. Tyler the owner does know how to fall a tree. He does not know how to run a legit business. We hired him to remove trees and do other landscaping. We agreed on a price and he scheduled a time to start. He did not make the original start date. I called and called. Finally got started. Out of the 4 trees they got 2 down on the ground and did not return for 2 weeks! After calling and texting everyday, they finally came back and cleaned up the fallen trees. The cut the other two down, but not completely. They left a 10 ft stump on one and the other they cut down to the ground and left the large trunk on the ground. They did not even get to the landscaping we agreed on and made a payment for the materials. It has been over 2 months and they have still not come back to finish the work. I have given up on hope that they will ever come back. At this point I am out money for work that was never performed and and incomplete job. DONT HIRE PRESTIGE TREE. I highly recommend Prestige Tree and Landscape. I used a different arborist to trim and treat my trees 3 years ago and was pleased with the results but needed a more diverse service this time. Prestige far exceeded the quality of the arborist I used before. I had Prestige trim all of my trees, and treat the sickly trees. They also mulched all of my beds and borders with the most gorgeous looking mulch I've ever seen. Prestige also repaired a couple of sprinklers. My only gripe was that they under-bid on the amount of mulch they would need. We needed more mulch, which we had to pay for on top of the original bid. However, we were able to verify that we were paying only the direct cost of the mulch, and not any more on the labor. It turned out so nice in the end that I didn't mind the underestimate, and overall the price was still very good for the quality. Neighbors have stopped by to comment on how well trimmed the trees are and how good the place is looking. Five stars! read more
