Within seconds of sitting in his chair, I knew he was the right person. He really took the time to listen to what I wanted, asked the right questions, and somehow understood exactly what I was looking for, even better than I could explain it. The cut came out absolutely incredible. I genuinely walked out feeling like a million dollars. Beyond being incredibly talented, he was warm, attentive, and made the entire experience so enjoyable. I found my new person and am genuinely excited to go back. Trust me, book Ayhan.

My hair had so much bounce and I have mixed hair (black and Asian) so it's hard for me to find a place that knows how to work with my hair. I like the blow out to have curls at the ends and not bone straight and Kitti did just that! The only recommendation I have is to use a bit more product in my hair as it was rainy out. Also, I ran into a former colleague there who said he's been seeing Kitti for years, even after he moved further away so that's a testament to his skill and customer service - and not to mention versatility with different hair types! The ambience is definitely unique. Feels more like a barber shop with all the sports car posters, but overall clean and spacious. They do full services for nails and spa, but I would recommend calling ahead to make sure a technician is there. At the end of the day around 6 or so, it's just the hairdressers unless an appointment is made im assuming. Also this is for the 43rd st location. Never went to the other one. Definitely worth giving a try for such a good price and Kitti is great!

A GEM OF A COIFFURE TUCKED ATOP FIFTH AVENUE:…read more I came across the SCK Salon during this summer. It's a little beauty gem tucked away on Fifth Avenue close to Saks. The salon interior is lovely and an experience in of itself: a pristine white loft on the fourth floor. It's well-designed, minimalist and sun kissed, making for a bright and lovely experience. The salon staff are efficient and so pleasant making the overall experience a boost to your day. I had a single process (with Tam) and cut (with Chen). Both were done professionally. Tam is such a pleasant and kind coiffure. Chen does an amazing blow dry and is a very talented hairdresser. He does good haircuts too. I cannot recommend both of them enough after the pleasant experience I had, right down to the thoughtfully prepared cappuccino and biscotti for their clients. The one thing that places this salon in my favourites list is the fact that they use Kerastase products which are really so agreeable with my hair type and have been a product that I have used since my 20's at hairdressers around the world. The Kerstase shampoos and conditioners brought back such nice and happy memories ... The prices range from USD 165-200 dollars for a single process. About USD 155- 258 dollars for a cut and USD 67-150 dollars for a blow dry. The only thing I would change or ask more of at this salon would be music, music, MUSIC! It's always great to have some tunes playing in the background as you get pretty or prettier, as the case maybe. Enjoy your time at Salon SCK. It's a dream to have your hair in their good hands.

So much care and patience was given. It made the moment extra special. It's easy to make an appointment at Calo, and I love how they give you a reminder call. Tipping is made easier, which can be done via venmo. The salon is clean, and all I've interacted with have been kind and pleasant. Stephanie was attentive and wanted to make sure I was okay with her suggestions for my single process colour. She was also very thorough and took her time, even checking the wisps of hair in the back at my neckline, and made sure those strays were covered too. I felt very well looked after over the course of the three hours. Stephanie brought me something to drink, gave me sleeves for my glasses so they wouldn't get dye on them, and brought cushions while washing my hair so I would be more comfortable. My blow out and colour look great! I would definitely go back to the salon.

DO NOT COME HERE TO GET YOUR NAILS DONE…read more Super rude, but more importantly, UNHYGIENIC. So hasty and sloppy, she had to "fix" her work on EVERY nail by scraping her nail alongside mine. EVERY nail! If I wanted the germs under her nails to be scraped onto my skin I would have asked. DISGUSTING. Here's a helpful tip: if you aren't dexterous enough to paint accurately, then DON'T DO NAILS. At the very least, shell out for orange sticks to clean your messy work with. She also didn't finish off the edges, so they started chipping within less than 24 hours. I'd have done a MUCH better job myself.

This review is long overdue. I got my hair done last weekend (dec 1st). And my review might be all…read moreover this place. But I really just want write down my experience. I must say when I had booked my appointment, I was hesitant. I read all the bad reviews and was worried that I would go to Maxim Beautique and walk out with my hair all messed up. I was also hesitant because I was using a Groupon for cut, wash and balyage and felt that they might not do a good job since I was not paying full price. Let me tell you guys, that was not the case. First of all, I called to book at appointment and spoke with Dima. He was professional on the phone and took my info down for my appointment. I was excited, but still super nervous. The day of my appointment, I walked in 5 mins late. Dima was already waiting for me so he quickly sat me down and started to analyze my hair. At first I was thinking oh no, he's going to rush this. He asked me if I had a photo of what I wanted. Of course I had many, but I showed me one and he started to tell me what he was thinking. He explained how my hair would turn orange since I black hair and it naturally has red/orange pigments. He told me that to achieve the style in the picture I would need to add a second dye. He never mentioned the price, but I wanted to know so I asked. He told me how much extra it would be and as much as I wanted to say no, I said, go for it. Paying the extra money was the best decision of my life. Not only does my hair cut and color look amazing, but I'm already trying to plan my trip back and even telling my sister to go. Dima was super patient with me. I have long, thick hair. You can only imagine how long it took to cut, color, wash, color, wash, dry and style . It took almost 4 1/2 hours and not once did I feel like I was being rushed or that Dima was getting annoyed. Not going to lie, the owner isn't the friendliest. I tried to smile at her a few times when we made eye contact and she had no reaction really. Maybe she didn't notice, but she wasn't as bad as the reviews make her seem. Overall, that didn't bug me since she wasn't the one doing my hair and she was still nice. Everyone else who worked there kept to themselves, but everyone else was friendly. I would definitely recommend this salon to anyone. I think Dima did an amazing job. Maybe it's because I was nice to them so they were nice to me. I didn't nitpick or expect super luxurious service. So in return, I got a friendly hair stylist, who was patient with me. I think if you treat them the way you wanna be treated they'll treat you just that way. Anyways, thanks Dima!
