I really hate having to leave negative reviews. I always try to give the benefit of the doubt…read more However, this has unfortunately been the worst car buying experience I've ever had, by far. And I've bought numerous cars over the years. Buckle up, it's a somewhat long story, but I have to share it. I bought a used 2021 Toyota Corolla from these guys recently, and made my mistake of not test driving it first, and trusted their word, and trusted that a Toyota Corolla is a reliable car to purchase. When I received the car, I didn't even make it out of my neighborhood before noticing it grinding gears when downshifting into 2nd and it didn't want to stay in that gear. Coming from a previous car with endless issues, my heart sank. I called the dealership and the manager (John, I think?) dismissed everything I said and hung up on me. I called Moose again and he gave me the owner Tim's number. Tim was more responsive and understanding and they sent someone to come pickup the car, who also confirmed the issue. Since it was under their 3000mile warranty they decided to put another transmission in it. He claimed it was a new transmission. He offered to put a new clutch in it also, as long as I paid for the parts, which I agreed to at the time, but his "transmission guy said the clutch is fine," so they opted not to. Now, here I am less than 10k miles later, and the clutch has failed. The trusted mechanic I took the car to also told me that they installed a "junkyard transmission." I respectfully and politely called Tim to get some answers and see what they would do about it, and he still claims it's a new transmission, and that he would talk to his transmission guy again, but hasn't sent me any proof of that, and has now stopped answering phone calls and hasn't returned any calls. I do not have and would've never expected to put $3000 into repairs of a car that I just purchased. A 2021 Toyota Corolla with transmission AND clutch failure within 10k miles seems like something an experienced car dealership and "transmission guy" should've been able to catch before it got to my hands. I bought this car for the sole purpose of having a reliable vehicle for my family, and it's been a nightmare since day one. I was (and still am) only hoping they would do the right thing and handle this issue. Incredibly disappointed.

The next morning after buying the car I heard a terrible grinding noise (shown in video) upon starting up. After a quick google search i realized it was a common issue with 2010 Honda Crvs to have the VCT Actuactor fail at 100,000 miles. Since the car was at 107,000 miles I knew this was the issue. I went back to show them the terrible noise, and they told me I was turning the key too far causing the grinding noise as i show in the second video that in fact does not happen with this car, as it has a feature that prevents that from happening. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND SPEND YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE

Normally with car inspections, I have to drop my car off at an auto-body shop and pick it up the next day due to the "first come, first serve" policy but I didn't have that option so I booked an appointment with 17th Street Automotive for the same day. As soon as I walked into the office, I was happily greeted by Kristen and another worker. They both were extremely pleasant and personable. I was quoted a service time of about an hour and a half and was offered beverages while I wait, which was a very nice gesture. My state inspection was completed after an hour and a half, just as they quoted me. Kristen was very informative with the things they found during the inspection and with how amazing their customer service was, I would definitely return to get my car serviced with them. I was given a free car freshener once the service was complete and told them I would tell everyone I knew about the exceptional experience I had with their business. If you are looking for same-day inspections or in need of any car services, I highly recommend checking out 17th Street Automotive.

Completely unacceptable, frustrating experience…read more I paid $1,338 for front brakes and calipers, and within six months I was still having braking issues. When I returned, they replaced only one front rotor under warranty. After a third visit for the same braking noise/vibration, I was told the problem was my rear brakes, even though those had been replaced only three months earlier at another shop. I then went to three independent shops, and all confirmed the real issue was a warped front rotor (the one not replaced the second time I brought it in). This should've been fixed the second or third time I brought it in. Instead they shifted blame to another shop, in which their work was confirmed to be fine. And for the price I paid, I shouldn't have had to bring it in multiple times for the same issue. Still after three visits and over $1,300 spent, my issue was still not properly fixed. The only good thing about this experience was that it was under warranty, and another shop was able to fix my brakes properly. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before trusting this shop, and if possible save your time and go elsewhere.

"do not hire" promise for march31 pick up , hope to die and cross your fingers,delivery was for…read moreapril 1. my first encounter was john made all the arrangements. gave me his cell number along with the company, dispatch number, and get this the driver cell number , wow right ! ! how can i go wrong getting everyone number. delivery never took place as promised, i call jon no answer called his cell no answer called dispatch spoke to alex who took a message to give to john no return call i did the call up until 6;30pm april 1. april 2 called that the receiver on delivery was no longer avaiable so i call john, no answer left messages no return, call the driver not answering his phone, called disptatch spoke to alex got the run around john was on the other line then john stepped out and then john went to dinner called all three of them until 6:30pm. april 3 still trying to make contact with john alex dispatch, driver nothing took messages but no return calls to me. call next day called at 8:00am spoke to dispatcher who said john doesn't come in until 9:00am to call back i did at 9:15am again dispatcher said john doesn"t come in until 10:am, called back got same john doesn't come in until 11:am called again john doesn't come in until 12:00pm never a return call " my ebtire purpose to call was to tell him there is no on at the receiver end to meet with the driver to have him call to make arrangements for a better time so i can get someone there and i do not want any problems. no call back ! nothing from sfaemile auto transport. it's now saturday afternoon and i am stilll trying to make contact. oh no ?? holy scrap the phone rings and it's john tell me he got my messages but he was off ? does he think we the people are that dum i mean really. so i told him the problem didn't seem to care said he was calling the driver well all of a sudden every one phone was orking and everyone was able to answer. and it now cost me $150 . dollars more to pay to have someone there to receive my car. and get this the arm rest inside my 24 hour old 2026 cadillac xt5 thousand of dollars is now damage and there back to not answering they phone so yes if it's not something you care about or not something you don't mind if they damage it or better yet i forgot to tell you the police got involved and took a stolen car report have lot mor to tell you but i am limited on space good luck and stay away far far away from john and auto transport safemile. take four asprin and call him in morning ! !

Safemile should do a better job at vetting these carrier companies. You get what you pay for....quote was way less than the more reputable car transport companies and service was equally on par with the fee charged - horrible experience.
