When I grow up, this is where I would want to retire. My first visit to Presbyterian Village was…read morelast year. I was fascinated at how pretty my cousin's unit was! It's a beautiful 2 bed 2 bath unit that was beautifully crafted for her. She also has a neat back door to the common area where she can have her dog roam and neighbors sit and gossip. We headed back to Athens this year and this venue has a little unit that can be rented out. Of course I want to stay here! The room itself is perfect for a couple. There's a nice sized bathroom, a comfy queen bed and a mini fridge for left overs/drinks. The staff here is so cordial and friendly. I have yet to run into a rude person. I have met servers, maintenance staff and nurses. They are all so nice! With it being a retirement community, it's nice to know that my cousin is in great hands. We have heard too many horror stories about retirement communities but this is nothing like that. This place is well maintained, beautifully decorated, spacious and open. I love the outdoor area where everyone meets and hangs out. The dining area is nice and provides great food. There's a pool and a zen garden. With all these amenities I don't want to leave. I'm happy I got to experience what my cousin experiences living here. Presbyterian Village is the place to be.

Both Joe and Allis welcomed us and spent a great deal of time sharing their vision and commitment to their residents. We brought mom back for a visit and she immediately fell in love with them and the facility. Their warm and caring personalities made mom feel very secure and they immediately became friends. When move in day came, mom was anxious but at ease with how smoothly it went. She settled in almost immediately. Both Joe and Allis are exceptional people who care deeply for their residents. As mom began to have physical difficulties, they knew what to do and how to respond to every need. Mom often said how secure she felt and how much she loved being there. Our family was extremely pleased with everything that they did for mom. If you are looking for a safe, supportive, involved care center for your loved one, we can without hesitation recommend Hamilton Mill Senior Care. They are awesome !!

I visited very frequently and the place was always spotless and the staff was so personal, loving and attentive. Even when nobody was around my grandmother would tell us how much she loved the people there and she felt like this is where she belonged. On the day we had to say goodbye to my grandmother the owners and staff were not only there for my grandmother but for us the family as well. One of the assistants made a point to tell us she loved her and to make sure we knew her favorite song. That spoke volumes to me about the personal relationship my grandmother had with them. This home and the people that run it felt more like family than a business. I will always be grateful for them.

My father was admitted for rehab to help him get his strength back after a fall. When you first…read moreenter the facility you are met with a friendly receptionist, hardwood floors with decorations straight out of a magazine and a fancy coffee maker. I was so relieved! But when you pass the locked double doors that separate the public from the patients I realized the owners were just putting lipstick on a pig. It looks old, horrible, depressing and it smells like urine! When I was able to go back to my fathers room I noticed that he didn't have a pillow or blanket. His roommate said that they had to bring one from home. Well off to the store I go to get what should be supplied by the nursing home. I felt so bad leaving him there for the night! I went home and described to my husband how bad the place seemed and cried. My dad ended up only staying one night. He said the bed was so lumpy his back was killing him in the morning. All night long patients in other rooms were moaning. He didn't get any rest at all. It was my dad's decision to go to the rehab facility. He didn't want to be a burden (his words) but when he told me he didn't think he could stay there I felt like a weight had been lifted off my chest! I immediately went to tell his nurse that we weren't staying (she didn't seem surprised) and I had his things packed up and out the door. The social worker was running after me to get his discharge paper signed. I probably should have waited for her to come to the room or went to her office but I just wanted us out of that place! I felt so much better knowing he'd be at my house recovering and getting home health and rehab. If you are thinking of putting a loved one in this rehab center - don't. Just don't. It smells. It's old. Patients seem to be miserable. You have to supply your own pillows and blankets. I know sometime you don't have a choice but to accept the only opening that is available but....
