Presbyterian Medical Group 401 San Mateo Blvd. SE Albuquerque, 87108 Technician: Gresa Sylejmani DO Confusion, frustration, pain and suffering. On 6/14/24 I had an appointment with the technician listed above. I did not ask for this person, I was assigned to her after a difficult and dangerous stay I had at Rust Medical Center. You can read a review of that stay in another posting here on Yelp, and on Google reviews. Customers should be able to pick their providers after the medical group provides at least three possible candidates including a Bio, and a CV on each one. At that appointment I was complaining of UTI like symptoms and discoloration on the skin of my penis. She asked for a urine test for bacteria to rule out a UTI. The result was negative. In spite of this she prescribed Bactrim for me to take. She did not physically examine me. When I told her about the rash on my skin she referred me to dermatology. Presbyterian has no dermatology department, they contract with other businesses. In this case it was Southwest Dermatology. I left the appointment feeling confused and frustrated as though nothing had been resolved because there was no diagnosis on her part. The following Monday I contacted the Southwest Dermatology and they cheerfully gave me an appointment of OCTOBER 3, 2024! So now I am taking an antibiotic and waiting for a dermatology appointment three months away. By this time my symptoms had worsened. By 4 AM Tuesday I my skin was red blistered and swollen. I could not stand the pain any longer. I began driving from one Urgent Care to another. They were all closed. I returned home and tried to collect myself. After looking for urgent care centers on my phone, I found New Mexico Urgent Care and went to the location on Juan Tabo near Comanche. I talked with a male NP there. He asked if I was taking any medication, and I told him about the Bactrim. He said that it was not a good choice because taking antibiotics can induce a yeast infection and/or prolong it. He said, "I think you have balanitis". He then looked at my skin and prescribed two antifungal tablets one to be taken that evening, and if symptoms did not improve, take the other in 72 hours. I did not improve. I texted Sylejmani and asked her if I should take the other tablet. She said yes. As you can imagine, I was feeling conflicted, confused and angry. I was also in pain. Another two days passed and was not improving. On 6/20/24 I went to the new PresNow facility on Menaul near Pennsylvania. I got there at about 11 AM. There was only one person sitting in the waiting room. I was quickly admitted. I was taken to the back and placed in a chair surrounded by ill fitting curtains. I could easily see the woman to my left and she could see me. I could also hear almost everything being discussed around me. In all I was seen by three different people not including lab technicians. I was there a total of 2 hours and 35 minutes. The time I spent with various technicians could not have been more than 15 minutes. I left there feeling exhausted and frustrated. They told me that test results would be sent to Sylejmani. Another day passed and there was not improvement. I did not know what to do or who to turn to. I began searching online for answers as well as going to various health food stores looking for remedies. I was lost and upset. I then texted Sylejmani again telling here that I was having a lot of pain and I was not improving. She suggested going to an urgent care center or making another appoint with her or someone else at the San Mateo clinic. All of those appointment were out at least 3 weeks. Out of desperation I returned to New Mexico Urgent Care and another provider prescribed an antifungal ointment. The ointment seemed ineffective. I was at the end of my patience and feeling angry because the situation continued. Out of desperation I contacted an old dermatologist I had used in the past and begged for an appointment. I got one in a few days due to a cancellation. He looked at me and the various things I had been prescribed and just shook his head. He said, "That isn't going to work". He prescribed a tablet and two different ointments. It took about eight days, but at last I was beginning to improve. I am very disappointed in Presbyterian and in Gresa Sylejmani. I texted her to tell her so. She only said in her defense that I was mentioning new symptoms and that she was not able to evaluate me without another appointment. Well, we know what getting another appointment with her requires. And it is not as though I did not try to access her or one of her co-workers, or another facility. It is unconscionable for Presbyterian and its employees to prescribe without proper evaluation and examination. Also the wait times at all of these places is unacceptable if you are in pain. read more

i really love the treatment my infant daughter and i have had. the nurses and pediatricians i have seen have been so kind, helpful and courteous! always seen quickly and never rushed out. they always offer to let me stay in our room after check ups to breast feed or change her. i have felt very cared for here! Obviously, my tune has changed with this place. I've been rescheduled TWO MONTHS in a row. Either someone is unavailable, my assigned Doc had left early...blah blah blah. The real kicker was when I went to my appointment on Friday...I WAS RESCHEDULED YET AGAIN! Without getting any sort of phone call to let me know! To get there takes FOREVER because ABQ traffic is fantastic, I get to the check in counter to be informed about my appointment getting moved to a time and day that is something I *definitely* didn't schedule because of my work. Then they tell me "Well, if it's an emergency, go to the ER", shrug their shoulders and roll on with their paperwork. Really?REALLY. Never will I ever go back to that horrid doctor!! Melody T I know what doctor you are talking about. I left so hurt and angry by the assumptions and accusations labeled against me. I just got out of the hospital for a heart attack last week. The female doctor is evil and mean. Melody I got the same treatment you did. I had heart pains again today and I am lucky not to be back in ICU because of this horrible woman MW. She should not be a doctor. No compassion just assumptions and accusations. Her first statement to me "what are you doing on the table?" Really? I am sick, in pain, nauseous, lightheaded, etc. Of course Im going to be on the table. Then she said ok you will be talking to my back. I should have left right then. It got worse from there. I was there for after care about my heart, not an inquisition of personal issues!! I left. I will NEVER go back!! Stay the heck away from this nasty doctor. She is so hateful. You can see it all over her face!! I had the best most caring doctors taking care of me at the hospital. I was pleasantly surprised by the care I received at Presbyterian. I was able to make an appointment relatively quickly (within 3 weeks of when I called), and found the nurses/admins/doctors to be friendly and helpful - I recommend Dr. Doris Chavez. It's convenient that they also have a TriCore facility within the same building, so if you need to get any bloodwork done, it's just down the hall (but don't forget to fast ahead of time). read more

I have never been to a more unprofessional medical establishment. Just at this San Mateo location. it is awful. There is NO communication between the doctors and the schedulers. I have been cancelled the day of my appointment unable to schedule a simple nurse visit for less than 2 months out. On top of this, the majority of the employees are rude. Probably because they have to deal with all of the justifiably angry customers. Go somewhere else if you have the option. read more

I just read the review by Erika V. and wanted to say they did the same thing to me. My doctor was concerned I had an ovarian cyst and told me to make an appointment with the GYN clinic. They didn't have any appointments for over a month! I explained that I was in pain and I got the same response as Erika - if you're in pain go to the emergency room or urgent care. Evidentally the OB/GYN docs only see you if it is a routine exam. If you have any issues, too bad! What really upset me the most was the uncaring attitude. If I could go elsewhere I would. I am extremely disappointed with my interactions with Presbyterian Healthcare in Albuquerque. After I filed a verbal complaint I received two letters that were dismissive of my concerns and one came close to saying I was a liar. My primary care doctor (MW) never fully listened to anything I was telling her and already had formed an answer by the time I finished my sentence. Before I could decide what course to take about changing doctors or another healthcare organization I had a medical issue that landed me in the ER at Anna Kaseman. I was given a prescription that was called into a local pharmacy, but the medication was very expensive so I called to ask if my doctor (MW) would call it in to a prescription by mail company, which I use frequently and was in my records. Her assistant, Mona, called me back and from the beginning of the call I could tell by her tone it was hostile. She started arguing about taking the prescription to a local pharmacy and when I attempted to explain the problem with that she broke in and said "let me talk." The same rude attitude as the doctor. So at this point, I am upset and shaken by the poor and somewhat childish behavior of Presbyterian Healthcare. I believe the lesson here is they don't want to hear complaints. read more
