It also isn't too difficult to get a same week time to come in. But, be prepared to be here for at least 2 hours. Each visit they have an empty pre-waiting room and a packed secondary waiting area. Everytime I have checked in, I am warned, "sorry, it's a really, really long wait today." At this point the long wait is average. So just expect to be there for a while.

Just left Dr. Toppinos office and I have never been so rudely treated before by a doctor. Another…read moreOpthalmologist had done a cataract removal and IOL implant in my left eye which caused a large amount of blurriness and black dot floaters. That Opthalmologist has since retired. I obtained a referral from my PCP to see Dr. Adam Berger who diagnosed the retinal tear along with the blurriness and black dots. He expertly remedied the problem of the retinal tear with a lazer treatment. Dr. Berger was very nice and displayed a great attitude and caring for my problem. Unfortunately, I still have a large amount of blurriness and black dots still floating in my left eye. Dr. Berger advised I needed to see Dr. Mayssa Toppino to correct that blurriness and floaters and referred me to her. Upon seeing Dr. Toppino I could tell she was in a bad mood right away. I explained my problem with her and even showed her a printed copy of the visit with Dr. Berger. She did examine my eyes and even said there was a problem in that left eye. She argued the fact that a Yag Lazer procedure might not take care of my problem and rudely said "If that doesn't work your probably going to be mad at me"! She talked down to me like I was a little kid, which I did not appreciate. She acted very hesitant to do anything. To me she showed a great lack of confidence. I argued that she had examined that eye and she should know what to do, if anything. I also noted that Dr. Berger had referred me to her for this problem. Her tone and attitude showed very poor bedside manner and upset me so much I got up and walked out. As I was walking out I told her your not helping me!

The Doc, puts his entire self into each patient! Carl, yes, I know him on a 1st name basis not as a personal friend but as a patient. He is excellent! In a profession where you must have excellence and professionalism. I've been going to Carl for years. In fact, I followed him from his prior office on John Young Parkway. I found him and sent my wife, daughter and recommend him to all my friends. When you find a winner you stick with them. The Doc is awesome and so is his staff. Don't believe me, ask them how long they have been working there! 15 years, 13 years and a few for 5 and 3 years. Employees, vote with their feet when they don't like where they work. His people like working there and it shows. You know what they say, it takes two to tango! If you want people to be friendly, you have to do your part. I always ask the staff for their first name and use it often. I find people mirror what you send out. Your office visit starts by meeting Brittany at the front desk. An attractive, smiling, professional, friendly face. After a brief check in you proceed though your organized, professional eye care experience. Feeling cared for at each part of the experience. After your eye exam your next step is to pick out some quality lenses and frames. They have a great selection and reasonably priced too! I recently did a cost comparison with another local store and they wanted $300 more for the same pair. The last stop is to pay for all this stuff with a visit with Shelly at the front desk. She helps you wade through insurance issues so you pay the least amount out of pocket. Looking for a great eye doctor and eye glass store, look no further!
