For a main I went for some mushroom fun (ghi). Sorry bad pun alert! The steaks are cooked to perfection though or you can stick to chicken, duck or whatever takes your fancy. Excellent puddings as to be expected and a totally extravagant dining experience all round. Don't expect it to come cheap, it doesn't but we all need a total blow out sometimes in our lives. Our room was one of the new ones, happily not new room, just newly decorated, had lots of old features, was clean, tidy and had everything we needed. We booked in and went out exploring for a while, came back and got a bottle of house wine, 2 glasses and a cooler to take up to the room while we got ready for dinner. Dinner was first class. The food was well prepared, well served and there was plently of it. I had the best king prawns I have ever had followed by duck which was cooked to perfection. Trev has sea bass ( I think) and that was delicious too. We don't really do desserts, but folk around us were smacking their lips at theirs, so they must be good too. The wine was a little on the expensive side and nowt flash, but not bad enought to really complain about. We will defo be back as soon as possible, for longer hopefully, and we have recommended it to all our mates, especially those who like a bit of Jazz with their dinner.... nice

Such a beautifully decorated, cozy, boutique hotel right in the center of Harrogate. The bed was super comfortable and the was bathroom huge & luxurious (especially after arriving from Prague and the world's smallest bathroom). The bar brags of some of Yorkshire's best beers on tap - some great hand pulled bitters and ales - as well as Harrogate's own Slingsby's Gin (ask the bartender for a taste or even a custom cocktail made with Slingby's, you won't be disappointed!). Great accommodation, will gladly stay here again when back in North Yorkshire. There's nowt so queer as folk!

They ah e the best eggs and full English. The staff was totally open to get you sometime extra if you asked. Again super professional. I was here for a week long stay so opted with the breakfast included package. Breakfast can get real busy and is an average affair. I enjoyed the espresso based drinks and spring water bottles. The other stuff is mainly eggs and other breakfast items selection. The plates and hot plates can get really hot so watch out. The amenities are what one expects from such a place with an exception of a laundry facility (one can have clothes laundered though). The room itself was quiet and larger than I expected. My interaction was limited with top marks for housekeeping and middling for front desk. The elevator can be challenge as one was out of order so the other two being very busy during a holiday weekend. I wouldn't mind staying here at a similar rate if in the area.

What is really nice about it is the location: it overlooks the 'Stray', which is a grassland commons in Harrogate. It is also a short walk from the city centre, so the train station is within walking distance (although depends a little on the size of your suitcase!). I was there for the Conference Centre, and although I probably could have walked it in 30 mins or less, the taxi ride was only £5 so pretty fair going. Anyway, the reason why I'm writing, is to let you that I experienced the best room service EVER at this hotel recently. It was beautifully presented and masterfully cooked, it was like the hotel had a high-class restaurant that was not advertised! I had steak sandwich which was high quality, on ciabatta with garlic mayo, chicken wings which must have been the highest quality wings I've ever had, and wonderfully cooked wedge chips with the perfect mix of crunch on the outside and softness in. The room service menu is also impressively extensive, so I would highly recommend it if you are staying for a few days. Yum! About the room: relatively small, but with a really nice bathroom with very big bath. Views overlooking the Stray. Gym is tiny and old.

Nothing seems to be too much trouble for them, they always remember my mobility isn't too good so arrange a suitable room. The hotel is on the main Kings Road just a few yards past the Harrogate Conference centre. The rooms are spotless and well kitted out. Flat screen TV, free WiFi, shampoo and soap, tea coffee water and biccies all available in all rooms. There is a residents lounge with big screen TV and chilled honesty bar. The garden has a seating area for sunny days which was perfect on Friday for a couple of beers in the sun. They have a very nice breakfast room which over looks the coppice. Breakfast time can be requested rather than being set to strict times like most places. Breakfast itself is spectacular, wide range to choose from with all quality locally sourced ingredients. If you need a hotel in Harrogate then try the Fountains. You will not regret your choice.

The hotel also has its own spa that offers a variety of services. It really offers that inherently cool and very "British" suburbia experience. One of the key indicators of the hotel's character was that instead of the room card with a magnetic strip, they use metal room keys with a large leather key tag that has the name of the room engraved on it. Ok so you are easily going to spend that £75 ( this time we spent about £130 with a £45 bottle of wine, 3 courses and desert wine). The rooms are individual and some include walk in showers and free standing bath. All have an Nespresso machine. Ocassionally there are maintainance issues and some of the fixtures can be a little tired, however all the other benefits make up for it for me!

The hotel itself is a row of 4 or 5 converted Georgian houses which leads to a very confusing lay out. Rooms are split in to 2 wings, I was in the 2nd wing and would not complain one bit about my room. However, my colleague was staying in the 1st wing and had all sorts of issues, cold, small bathroom, no pressure in the shower, etc, etc. There is a small car park out that back, charged at £6 per day. I had breakfast included and again, no complaints from me and there was plenty to choose from. Harrogate is a beautiful place and the kimberley, for me, is a good place to put yourself.

The room was spacious and well equipped, the bathroom was amazing and the service we received was excellent. The breakfast buffet was included in my room deal and it was great, the cooked part especially (the excellent bacon was a highlight; proper dry cured, not your soggy run of the mill nonsense). It was a great base to explore Harrogate and beyond from, excellent stuff!
