We reached out to several flooring contractors and they were either slow to respond or gave us absurdly high quotes. Viking Wood Floors were the most responsive, easy to communicate with, and reasonably priced. Since we were still living an hour away, Kirk made sure to update us via text with pictures. He was also happy to let in our plumber to do a water heater replacement and bring in packages for us as needed. At one point, it turned out there was some miscommunication where the stair treads were refinished instead of replaced. Despite the miscommunication being my fault, Kirk was happy to get it done in time without charging us for finishing the treads again. Everything wrapped up just in time and the floors look great. They are ultra smooth and flat. Places that look tricky (through closet walls) look seamless. Thanks!

WC floors was exceptional, they measure your rooms all precisely and provide a quote at a timely manner. They offer reasonable prices, were punctual on when they stated they'd finished, and were flexible with additional work we needed. They explained the procedure well and were very professional. They use water based poly which didn't leave a terrible smell after it was stained. The color looks rich and there were no stains left on the molding. I like that they painted the raises in the stairs, made a difference on how clean and crisp everything looked. They also did our shoe molding which came out beautiful. I had water damage to one of my room upstairs due to a radiator leak. I wasn't sure if we needed to do just the 1 room or the whole upstairs since the wood is all connected. When I had spoken to him on the phone he said there may be a slightly different color if we do just the one room. So before he came out, I asked if he can get us both quotes. He came out when I wasn't home but my wife was. He didn't measure anything. Look at the room where the damage was and left. He didn't look at the rest of the upstairs. I didn't get a message for him so I texted him. He gave me a quote for the one room. I asked, do you have a quote for how much it would be for the whole upstairs. He said he didn't look at the other room upstairs. I described the size of the other room upstairs and he texted back with a quote. I asked if you can send me in writing the 2 quotes. He said he has to charge me $150 for the quotes. Then I said, "What? Why?" He never responded. Just in case he didn't see it, I text him again the next day. He didn't respond again. I kept calling because there were unresolved issues and some things were not correct with the final product. They were supposed to fix them. No one called me back. I now have to find someone else on my own and pay extra money to fix their issues and their mistakes. This is totally outrageous.
