I previously had WOW and their Internet was great (hardly any downtime) but their TV options, especially DVR, just sucked. As soon I knew U-verse was available at my address, I signed up. I will warn that they say installation takes about 2 hours but it was more like 4 hours (I'm sure there are many factors that affect this). Since I've had it, my Internet went out ONCE during a horrible storm but was literally back up within 5 minutes. I have never experienced Internet service that is this dependable. I have their U-300 TV service with whole home DVR and it's great - you can record up to 4 shows at once (but it will be less if you are only recording HD so I mix it up) and you can watch from any room, including pausing something and picking it up in another room. Of course we are on a intro promotion for the first 12 months so our price will definitely increase in a few months but hopefully when I call they will give us a deal.

Absolute Garbage. Unreliable. Had four outages that each…read morelast a FULL DAY in the past couple months. I'm now "on notice" with my job, since I work from home. Hopefully I can get by on the $2.60 they credit my account for each full day of work I've lost. I've managed to get a 5G hotspot as a fail-over, but 5G service here is poor, so I'm forced to rely on their failure of a service. If you need reliable internet, find it elsewhere. We're looking into Starlink.

Many channels we can't even watch because the sound goes out every few words. Plus they are so expensive. NEVER had trouble with Time Warner plus it was half the price. Update-Service finally improved and we have not had to reboot for a couple of months nor has the sound gone out. Plus we negotiated to lower our monthly bill although we had to agree to a contract to accomplish this. We cancelled our cable and only have internet now.

WOW! customer service (if you can call it that) has been HORRIBLE since day one. To begin with,…read morethey sold us our VoIP phones based on the promise we could use them anywhere. But when it came time for service, they would only service them at our office location and refused to send us a new $50 phone. Most recently, my phone stopped working and I spent 2 hours on the phone with WOW! technicians only to be told I would have to bring the phone into my office to have them fix it. When they did, they found out it was not the phone at all but a "backend problem" with their system. So I have not had a phone for 6 DAYS because of their own problem after they wasted TWO HOURS of my time. I am DONE with WOW! and will be terminating our contract as soon as it is possible to do so. I would NEVER do business with these people again.

We finally called Spectrum and did the bizarre disembodied voice hit prompt this or that and I did that 2x. It said take plug out of wall wait 15 sec re-plug you know the drill. I couldn't rectify the problem because of course the mechanical voice told me to do exactly the same thing over and over again. So, I punched '0' in frustration and got of course an actual woman. She was very sweet and ultimately we had a visit from some workmen as a result of the call. I was told between "3 and 4" that day. 15 min. later they arrived. Mike the seasoned pro and Chris his trailer greeted me warmly and when I said I didn't expect you for a while they said that they were given a window of 12-4. These guys despite that were friendly and accessible. The guys ran some tests and then said that they found a splice in the outside line and that they would rectify this within the week. These two guys are great guys. Life is about balance. Maybe Spectrum is a bit suspect all cable companies are. But if I am interacting with this company at least the people themselves will make my life easier and do it in a kind and responsible manner. The people are the blood that makes the machine run. They are what matter. B5F

So my next step was to cancel my WiFi with Spectrum at the Town Center location. I walk in, no reservation, 4 people there. "Can I help you?" Yes, I'd like to cancel my Spectrum Wi-fi. "Who do you have for mobile phone service?" Not interested, I just want to cancel my Spectrum account. "Do you know you just paid your bill for next month 3 days ago?" Can I get a refund? " You'll have to call billing. OK, please cancel my account. "OK, it's cancelled." I called billing. Billing asked me for my phone number, address, DOB, etc. Then they wanted my 4 digit code which I gave them, then my 6 digit code, which I gave them, then they said We are going to email you a code, please read it back to me. I want to cancel my account and would like a refund for the unused portion. Then they transferred me to another customer service representative Who put me through the same process asking me for my address, Etc. Finally, I told them "forget the refund, just cancel my account. Keep the unearned portion of my payment. I saw where Spectrum had kept me in the phone for 45 minutes. They then told me they had put in a "work order" to disconnect my account. Why don't you just cancel my account? "We have to request someone else to do it" My point here is simply to avoid doing business with Spectrum because of 1. They keep upping the cost of wi-fi service. 2. Their customer service is terrible and time wasting. 3. Spectrum throttles band width during peak demands causing your video to stop and the 'spinner' appears on your screen. 4. There is a much better wi-fi service at lower cost available with Starlink. 5.It took me an hour and 25 minutes in Spectrum to cancel my account. Be forewarned in dealing with Spectrum. 6. The employees in Spectrum are trained to keep people from canceling their account. Be forewarned. 7. I am sure they are good people. It's just that Spectrum trains them to treat you this way to keep you paying.

We asked for our payment back, they refused to return it. They told us we had to take the equipment we had to the Spectrum store to turn it in. I went to the store on Main Street in Summerville, SC this morning (6/17) around 11 AM. I signed in (Rich M) and waited. They had two people working with two customers. During the time I was there 3 additional customers came in and signed in. At 11:25 AM the two spectrum people were still working on the same customers that were there went I came in. I waited another 5 minutes and one of the spectrum people finished with the customer he had. Then he got up and left the room. I was completely frustrated at this point, so I left. I still have the equipment and am trying to figure out how to return it. We left spectrum initially because of poor service. We lost internet service 2 to 3 times a month. I highly recommend that anyone wanting to get internet service go elsewhere. These people are incompetent and do not care about customers.

BUT, I have problems with the service because of where I live and I have DISH because of where I live- in a cable dessert. The issue isn't that I would have cable TV instead of satellite. The issue is that I would have cable INTERNET instead of satellite. If I had cable internet I would stream all my TV content, maybe use an antenna for local stations, and I wouldn't have a "TV service Provider" per se. Hello 21st century. We have satellite internet (through HughesNet, which I previously reviewed). The signal I get isn't reliable enough to stream video content, so we have to have a TV Service Provider if we want more than just local TV with an antenna. Compared to other TV Service providers I have had, DISH is far and above the best in terms of customer service. They are prompt and professional and communicate extremely well. They are easy to reach on the phone, by email, or online and the people they send to our home are knowledgeable, efficient, and very personable. It can't be easy to have a job going into the home of customers having problems and they do it very well. Today I had a repair at my home (the repair was for HughesNet which contracts out DISH for at least some of their in home repairs for customers like us who have both)- I scheduled it to be between 8 and 12. I received a call and a text message from the service person (Bobby) at 7:45 that he would be here between 8 and 8:15 and he was here as advertised. He was great and easily fixed our (HughesNet) problem.

He was a no show and neither did I receive a text, call or email. I left my home after the 12:00 hour I left my home for a prescheduled appointment. To my surprise, I received a voice message at 12:24 PM from (839-253-8259. It was the Dish Network Technician informing me that he will be at my house between 10:30 and 10:45 AM. I called and complaint that the technician lied about this arrival time and informed them that I was keeping the voice mail. I received an apology and a new date. Well, October 6, 2026 from 8:00 AM-12:00 noon. I wrote it on my wall calendar and placed it on my telephone calendar. Well on that day I checked my phone calendar and noticed the time was changed from 8:00 AM-12:00 noon to 10:00 AM-2:00 PM. I immediately checked my wall calendar which had the original time. I connected Dish Network and the automatic recording system informed me that I did not have an appointment scheduled for that day. IK spoke with a representative and informed her of the illegal hacking into my telephone and the system stating that I did not have an appointment. She attempted to justify the issue and I cancelled the upgrade. Well, that's not all, today October 13, 2026 I received a text informing me that my September 29, 2026 appointment was cancelled. Go figure, you can't make these things up . First of all today is October 13, 2026, 14 days after the fact and secondly, it wasn't cancelled the TECHNICIAN WAS A "NO SHOW." Yes, I'm calling Dish Customer service to let them know they can't cover this up because I still have the voicemail with the date and time of the call and the time he said he will arrive.
