I made an appointment in June or July in preparation for another colonoscopy this year. The earliest date available was the end of August. Less than 48 hours before my appointment I received a phone call from someone that said they were having trouble verifying my insurance. My insurance hasn't changed. However, she then told me that the practice no longer accepts Medicare. I don't know if it was my Medicare plan or all Medicare plans. She didn't offer any further explanation, just told me that I couldn't see the doctor. I asked about paying out of pocket, and she just said, 'No'. The doctor is great! I know she's been with this practice for a long time. In my case they had all of my insurance information since the last colonoscopy, nothing had changed. I received no less than five robocalls informing me that I was due for a colon screening this year. If they were no longer accepting my insurance plan, I should not have been able to even schedule an appointment. The only contact I should have received was an alert informing me that my insurance was no longer being accepted by the practice. Now I'm left to 'shop' for a gastro-doc. Not happy.

MAKE IT MAKE SENSE. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE, GOOD JOB, MARIA CHRISTINA…read more Over the course of a week, I made approximately 14 calls to this office on July 28, July 29, July 31, and August 3 trying to obtain the new-patient forms. Staff told me the forms are normally sent only 24 hours before the appointment. I repeatedly explained that I had multiple medical records to upload into the portal and wanted the physician to have adequate time to review them before the appointment. On Friday, I was specifically promised that the forms would be emailed Monday. Monday came, and nothing was sent. I called several more times and was repeatedly transferred without receiving the paperwork, an explanation, or a resolution. I eventually spoke with Maria Christina. It sounded as though she was driving or otherwise distracted, so I asked three times whether she was available to speak with me. Each time, she responded in a condescending and dismissive tone, "I'm speaking with you." When I asked why the forms were still unavailable after a week of calls and promises, she did not answer my question, provide an explanation, or offer a resolution. Instead, she abruptly stated, "We're going to cancel your appointment." This office turned a basic request for routine patient paperwork into a week-long runaround and then cancelled the appointment rather than provide the forms, explain the delay, or resolve the issue. The administrative service was completely unprofessional and disorganized.

I called the clinic where Dr. Hayley Nguyen practices, explained our situation, and the staff kindly told us to come in and that Dr. Nguyen would see her. From the moment we arrived, Dr. Nguyen and her staff were very professional, friendly, and caring. Dr. Nguyen knew that we were from out of town and even took the time to recommend several restaurants for us to try while we were in Houston. That personal touch meant a lot to us during a stressful time. We are very thankful for the care and kindness we received. If you are looking for a caring and professional doctor, I highly recommend Dr. Hayley Nguyen!

On my first visit, Belinda greeted me with genuine warmth and professionalism. She walked me back to the treatment room, took my vitals, and took the time to listen -- really listen -- to my medical history, my reasons for seeking a new physician, and my goals for improving my health. She related to me as a whole person, not just a chart. Phenomenal care. My wait to meet Dr. Ani was short, and when she entered the room, her bright presence immediately put me at ease. She exudes compassionate concern in her bedside manner. Dr. Ani is patient, thorough, and considers all the information provided to her alongside current research and best practices. Over the past couple of months, I've had several appointments and have needed to reach out to the office for various reasons. Scheduling is quick -- appointments are set within weeks, not months. When I call, I reach a live person after just one automated prompt. If the office needs to return my call, the response comes within hours, not days. I was also pleasantly surprised by how quickly medical documentation was completed. I can honestly say I did not expect to need this level of medical support when I first sought out a primary care physician, but Macie Medical Group has more than risen to the occasion. They have exceeded every expectation.

If could give zero stars, I would. What happened to my family here was cruel…read more My wife had just given birth. She was in severe back pain and could barely walk. She couldn't even care for our newborn. We came to Mercy Clinic for an ortho or PT referral, an x-ray, blood work, anything. What we got instead was a clinic that refused to do the most basic part of its job. They told US to call our own insurance and figure out copays and coverage for the 10+ blood-test orders and the 4 physical scan orders they'd handed us. When we explained we didn't know we were expected to do that, like no clinic, hospital, OB/GYN, or pediatrician has ever once made us do this, their staff got angry, at us for even requesting that. Read that again: they scolded a woman days after giving birth, in pain, with a newborn waiting at home. We left anyway and called the imaging labs ourselves for the 4 physcial scans. In five minutes (five) they took our insurance and ran the numbers. That is how every normal practice in this country operates. Mercy has admin staff and its own lab and still couldn't be bothered. It gets worse. The lab codes for the blood work they handed us were internal codes, not universal CPT codes, so our insurance and the outside labs literally could not identify what tests had been ordered. So we had to call them AGAIN that evening and their staff promised to run it themselves and have answers by end of day Thursday. Silence Thursday. Silence Friday. Saturday morning I reached Dr. Muhammad himself, and he called me stupid for expecting the clinic to do its own admin work, told me it should take me "25, 30 minutes" with a newborn at home, called me stupid AGAIN when I explained his codes were unusable, and hung up on me. While this clinic played games for days, my wife's pain kept escalating. She now cannot walk at all. A doctor who calls a new father stupid and hangs up on him, while his wife deteriorates at home, has no business practicing medicine. If you care about your family, go literally anywhere else.
