At my 2-week post-op appointment and every appointment afterward, I repeatedly tried to explain how intense and persistent the pain was and how concerned I felt about it. Unfortunately, I left those visits feeling unheard and dismissed. I understand recovery from spinal surgery can be difficult and unpredictable, but as a patient, I desperately needed reassurance, guidance, and to feel like my concerns truly mattered. Instead, I personally felt like I was repeatedly told to "wait it out," even as the pain continued month after month. During this process, I was referred by Dr. Kalra to multiple different specialists in an attempt to address the ongoing nerve pain. However, after being evaluated, those doctors ultimately referred me back to Dr. Kalra regarding the issues related to my fusion and recovery. This left me feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, and unsure where to turn for answers or support. More than a year later, I am still dealing with the same nerve pain that began after surgery. This has significantly affected my quality of life. When I contacted the office again hoping to discuss the ongoing issues I've been experiencing since the fusion, I was informed that I was being dismissed as a patient and later received a certified dismissal letter from the practice. That was incredibly upsetting after trusting this practice with my care and trying for so long to advocate for myself. I'm sharing this only as my personal experience. Every patient's situation is different, but for me, the lack of support and communication during such a painful and vulnerable time was deeply disappointing. I hope future patients feel heard, respected, and taken seriously when expressing concerns about their recovery.

The Doctor was very helpful, discussed several options for pain relief and took his time to answer my questions. What really stood out on my visit was how well the staff worked together and so cheerfully. I've been to enough doctor offices where the opposite is true. Then when I got to see Dr. Walter Humann, who only took about 3 minutes time with me and when he asked me a question, I was cut off before finishing my sentence. He was late getting in to see me because I heard him with the patience next door talking for 15 minutes about the FIFA soccer games, I get it, I enjoyed the conversation too even though I was just eavesdropping through the paper thin walls and I figured he would be in a better mood than his front desk staff person was since the convo with his patient was going so well. He was quick, seemed like he didn't care, and I felt just like a number and from the looks of my bill, I just paid his car payment (or maybe half a car payment, depending on his car). The audiologist Dr. Kelly Briley doesn't smile like she does in her pics, I felt like she was also wishing I wasn't there. She was cold, distant, even though I really liked her office, it was warm and inviting and I told her this, no response. After I paid my bill, made a follow up appointment and I had to deal with the same front desk person that checked me in and as she was checking me out, I asked her if she had the correct pharmacy on file for the script that Dr. Humann ordered and she said she did, but how could she since I didn't put it on my paperwork so I asked her to read it out to me to confirm and of course, it was wrong, so I gave her the right address and she got mad, and said "that is what I said" and her voice sounded so angry and evil that I just grabbed my bag and got out of there. Then, I get a call from my pharmacy, the script was called in incorrectly and they were letting me know they contacted the Dr. Humann's office to get it fixed. That was good and I waited, and waited, two days later, my pharmacy told me to call them since they are not getting a response, so I called, left a voice mail and it has been 3 weeks, no response to the pharmacy or myself. I decided to just ask my PCP to fill the script since I would not ever be going back to this office again. Please find a better ENT office, if you can, because this office, does not care about the patient, only the very expensive fees they charge for less than 15 minutes of service.

That said, he has had a turnover in staff that has sucked. I am torn to the point that I can only see him if I have a procedure. I have to see his NP or PA. Which makes me feel like a patient. I am a complex case. I trust him with my life. But damn.. Have your new hires learn to read a medical chart or at least review it.

He truly takes his time with his patients and never makes you feel rushed. He listens carefully, really tries to understand what you're feeling, and goes above and beyond to help fix the problem instead of just masking it. What stands out most is that he takes the time to get to know you on a personal level. You can tell he genuinely cares, and that kind of bedside manner is rare these days. Everyone in the office is very kind and professional in person. The environment is welcoming, and when you're there face to face, the experience is great. Unfortunately, the biggest issue is communication. It is incredibly difficult to get a hold of someone at the office. Whether it's for scheduling, a prescription refill, or just trying to ask a question, it can be very frustrating. My brother and I both go to this office, and we've both experienced the same issue when trying to speak with someone. Getting a response can take much longer than it should, which adds unnecessary stress when you're already dealing with pain. Despite that frustration, I still wouldn't want to see any other doctor besides Dr. LeDoux. His level of care and dedication outweighs the communication challenges, and that says a lot. I just truly hope the office improves its responsiveness because the medical care itself is outstanding.
