Go buy a bottle of nice wine or a bunch of flowers, whatever tickles your fancy. It's win, win, win! Orr's stock the best of the best. I would munch down on chicken olives if my life depended on it as long as they were from Orr's. Try their pork and leek sausages...I won't buy them from anywhere else! It's just a let down once you've tried them from here. Same goes for their chili sausages. The same probably goes for everything they sell. If I had the time and or money I'd have worked through it all by now. If I ever manage to do this I'll be sure to let you know. Though I'd maybe have died happy if I accomplished this. Stuck in the middle of a wide variety of old-looking shops is a fantastic little butchers, one which should (but never will) blow every supermarket and chain store out of the water. With every cut of meat you could possibly want, this place had a queue of about ten people waiting to get served. Anywhere else that would be deemed bad service and you would complain. However, a long queue in a butchers is a healthy thing because it shows that people trust it first and foremost, and don't mind paying over the odds for some great food. I would definitely recommend it, not solely because it sells some really top quality meat (especially the steaks) but because it is much better to support local produce rather than processed rubbish that gets shipped in from somewhere dark and dingy.

They have all the usual cuts plus a whole section of marinated specials which always look delicious and are pretty well priced. There was a huge selection on offer and they had prepared a lot of products themselves. Marinading kebabs and ribs ready to be cooked on the barbecue. I got Rib-eye steak which was quite expensive, but it's not something I will buy all the time and its quality was worth the price. A great local butchers that, if I do move to the area, I will use regularly.

Open 24 hrs is handy when you need to grab something and random times of the day or night. Well laid out store and easy to find whatever you are looking for. After a lot of deliberation (everything looked so yum!) we decided on two HUGE butterflied steaks, four large pork sausages (they're a meal on their own!) four large beef sausages and six griskins (Oh yeah! Love them!) in the end our total bill came to under £20! I was amazed at the superb value! I've since eaten the steaks (oh wow!) and I'm pleased to note all the meats were juicy, tender and fresh. The friendly butcher gave me some advice on cooking the griskins (we usually do them on the bbq and seeing as it was pouring down it wasn't quite the weather!) Ideal for BBQ's as we come into the summer. (that is if we ever get any good weather) They stock a great range of other meats - plain and marinated. I do have an issue with the word organic being slapped on everything to ensure it's accepted by the middle class consumer and sold at an inflated price. Luckily in this case, Mullan's farm seem solely interested in producing top of the range meat. This little butcher/farm shop towards the front of the market sells everything from corn-fed chickens (producing that lovely yellow skin which crisps up very well when fried) to venison and beef. I left with half a dozen eggs the last time, slightly more pricey than Mc Carthy's egg stall across the way but they were still great. I ended up using them in a spinach and goats cheese soufflé, very tasty and I recommend it.
