I have been a patient of Dr. Bryan Judd for many years and believe he is one of the best dentists…read moreI've ever had the pleasure to know. I say this with some confidence as I am a retired pediatric dentist. His care is of the highest quality - I have had quite a few restorations done. He is kind, gentle and so nice to everyone. His staff is wonderful - nice, professional, helpful, gentle and fun. I highly recommend his office to everyone looking for the best dental care. Linda R.

I came to this office specifically looking for a cosmetic dentist because I was very concerned…read moreabout the appearance of my teeth. During my initial consultation, Dr. Collins repeatedly asked why I was there if I already had a dentist. I explained multiple times that I wanted someone focused on cosmetic work because aesthetics were important to me, but she continued questioning me in a way that felt dismissive and strange. Unfortunately, the actual dental work reflected the same experience. I had bonding done, and one tooth was shaped incorrectly and angled downward instead of following the natural upward curve of a smile. The other bonded tooth had a rough surface texture that didn't feel properly finished. I also had a crown done, and when the permanent crown came back, the shade was dramatically darker than my surrounding teeth. It was noticeable enough that I immediately raised concerns. Since I had already waited the standard two weeks in a temporary crown, I asked whether the remake could be expedited. I was told yes, but that didn't happen. It has now been about a month in a temporary crown for what should have been a two-week process. What was most frustrating was the response to my concerns. When I explained that my bite felt off and I could no longer properly bring my top and bottom teeth together to bite things normally, Dr. Collins dismissed it and told me that I "shouldn't need to do that." Regardless of the example I used, the point was that my bite no longer felt functional or natural. Instead of feeling heard, I felt brushed off. At this point, the experience has been disappointing both cosmetically and professionally. I'm updating this review after today's appointment depending on whether the replacement crown is finally correct. ***Updating my review after today's appointment because the situation became significantly worse. First, I realized after arriving that I had accidentally written the wrong dentist's name in my original review. The dentist I actually saw was Dr. Collins. When I noticed her name on her jacket, I clarified that I wanted to correct the review so the right provider was identified. She asked if I had a good experience, and I honestly told her no. She then asked what my experience was, and I offered to show her the written review on my phone since I had already documented everything in detail. Her response was, "Oh wow, I'm not reading all that." Then she asked me again to explain my experience verbally after dismissing what I had already prepared. After that, I laid back in the chair and she started tugging on my temporary crown for quite a while. Before this, they had already shown me the replacement crown and had me compare the color against my teeth. I said it looked okay to me and asked for her professional opinion since she is the dentist. She agreed it looked fine. Then suddenly, after already handling my tooth, she asked, "Are you sure you want me to put this crown on?" I was completely confused because I had taken time off work, confirmed earlier that morning that the crown was ready, and drove out there specifically for this appointment after already waiting a month in a temporary crown that was only supposed to be on for about two weeks. At that point she said she was refusing to place the crown. I became frustrated and did raise my voice and curse, because I genuinely could not understand why I was being denied treatment after everything that had already happened. We went to the front desk area where I began recording the interaction for my records. During the conversation, Dr. Collins reached toward my phone and stopped the recording. I was initially told they would still complete the procedure, so I sat back down and waited again. About 10 minutes later, another staff member came in and informed me that Dr. Collins refused to do the crown placement and that I needed to leave. The front desk employee explained that because the service was never completed, they would not bill my insurance and would stop the claim from processing. I also requested written documentation of what occurred for my records. What bothered me most was that even after refusing treatment, Dr. Collins came back over while I was speaking privately with the front desk employee and said, "It's not my fault your tooth came out a different shade." At that point I explained that the shade mismatch was only one of several issues I experienced throughout this process. So now I am left with a temporary crown that has been in place for about a month, after it was already tugged and loosened during this visit, and I now have to figure out how to start over and find another dentist to complete the work properly. The only positive part of this experience was the front desk staff member who remained patient, calm, and compassionate throughout an extremely stressful situation.

But the moment I walked in the staff made me feel so calm & gave me peace in knowing I was in good hands. I can not thank the staff enough for their kindness, compassion & patience. Very nice dental office and wonderful staff!…read more I dread going to the dentist. I think the only time I've looked forward to a dental appointment was when I was a kid and the dental office had video game machines that I was excited to play in the waiting room. Oh, and they had prizes at the end of your visit for you to choose from too! Fast forward to adulthood and going to the dentist is really something I've never liked doing, especially when my regular dentist and his dental hygienist retired. Then I went several years meeting new dentists and staff as we relocated a few times. Thought we found a good dentist...and then they decided to not take our dental insurance anymore. :( So this is my long-winded explanation why I didn't go to the dentist for about 2-3 years. I don't have perfect teeth and I don't like the stress my body feels when I'm sitting in the chair with sharp instruments poking at my gums. But I finally decided I'd better stop slacking off and to find a dentist so at the very least I could use up the dental cleaning credits that insurance is paying for. ^_^ Looked on the Cigna website for dentists in our area and narrowed down my search to a couple, with Dr. Slate being one of them. Yelp reviews didn't seem too bad either. Decided to ask my orthodontist's office (Dunn Orthodontics is awesome, FYI) if they had recommendations for a good dentist, since I had such an amazing experience with our Invisalign journey. Lo and behold, they gave me 2 names and Dr. Slate was one of them! I took that as a sign that Pure Dentistry was where I should go. Setting up an appointment was convenient. Location was easy to find. Parking wasn't too bad. (Just be aware Rocklin Academy is close by and pick up/drop off time might be tricky getting in and out) Met Rachel, the dental assistant who did a bunch of X-rays and was so sweet, warm and friendly. Then I met Dr. Slate, who is also extremely friendly and likable. Gotta love people who are skilled at their profession but have engaging personalities and are fun to talk to also! He shared a funny story about trying to get a coveted chocolate chip recipe from my orthodontist's wife, which was amusing to envision. Then it was time for my cleaning. Met dental hygienist Victoria and we had some laughs about "6-7" and other kid/teen slang. She was fun to talk to. TBH, the dental cleaning was a bit rough. I guess that's what I get for not going to the dentist for so many years. I could feel myself tensing up while she was scraping away tartar and then checking/poking my gums. Victoria even told me that I might have a bit of a headache later that day because she really went at it. She suggested ibuprofen. I think I kinda laughed it off because I don't usually get headaches. But man...was she right! I did have a bit of a tension headache later that afternoon. Not sure if it was because the idea was planted in my head (psychologically?!) or if it was from the high-pitched cleaning tools (next time I'll bring ear plugs) or if it was from the more-aggressive teeth cleaning. But at least she warned me about it, lol. Victoria also introduced me to Cocofloss. I had heard about it when we were looking into dental flosses a while back but I had never tried it. She gave me a sample and told me they even had different flavored flosses! Long story short, I think about Victoria and Pure Dentistry every night I'm flossing with my Cocofloss now, lol. We even ordered the different flavored Cocofloss, to make flossing a little more fun each night. So then it was time to leave and Victoria walked me up to the front where I met Celine, another super friendly employee! We chatted and then she gave me some cool Pure Dentistry swag! ^_^ They even had a little fridge with cold water and flavored sparkling water for patients also. It's the little things... While I'm still super nervous and reluctant about going to the dentist and my future visits, I can definitely say that Pure Dentistry alleviates a lot of my fears and they have a topnotch staff and a lovely office. They're great at what they do, make you feel like a valued customer/patient, and give you helpful advice for good dental health. (I'll probably schedule a full body massage after each dental visit in the future, so I can create a positive association between dental visits and relaxation, haha!) Highly recommend Pure Dentistry for people like me who are scared of dentists but also know the importance of dental care! You'll love Dr. Slate and his fantastic staff! :D

On a Thursday evening, while flossing, my front crown unexpectedly popped right out--no pain, no warning, but definitely a big hit to my self-esteem. I messaged Dr. Robison that night, and he immediately assured me he'd take care of it. By the next morning, I had an appointment. Easy peasy--they took x-rays, inspected the crown, and had it perfectly set back in. It's humbling to realize how much our smile means to us. Thanks to Dr. Robison and Robin, I can now attend my 20-year deployment reunion tomorrow with confidence, ready to share memories and smiles with friends. A little background: I first met Dr. Robison in my military unit last year, where he provides exceptional dental care to Soldiers and is highly respected as an officer. I actually had an appointment scheduled with him in a couple of weeks because I wanted him to be my dentist and discuss whitening and possibly replacing my 16-year-old crown--or even exploring veneers. But after this experience, I can honestly say I couldn't be in better hands.
