I lost over 30 pounds in a short period of time. Rather than referring me to a GI specialist which I begged for they wasted several appointments pushing on my abdomen and scheduled a sonogram in lieu of a referral. Went to show up for the sonogram at 8 am and the office was closed due to weather. No one called and it was never rescheduled. I ended up lying to the doctor about having tremor so I could finally get a referral to a neurologist. Years later I am now diagnosed with an atypical form of Parkinson's disease. The doctor I had here retired and then millennium physicians said I had to be reestablished with a new doctor. So I went to a new patient appointment. I only use this office to monitor my hypothyroidism and cholesterol since they have made me aware that they are incapable of helping me with any of my Parkinson's symptoms. The new doctor ordered lab work, which I did. Then they had me come to a follow up appointment to go over the results. My thyroid was extremely out of whack. Not a small bit out of range but way out of range. You would think this is when they would make a dose adjustment. I believe the vomiting and nausea daily are being cause by my thyroid being so messed up. Now they have ordered me to get lab work done again in November, exact same test, so they can see how it's "trending" before making a dose adjustment. So I said I'm just supposed to keep being sick daily for 3 months until I go back for more bloodwork and another appointment. A 6 month scheme to bilk more money from me and my insurance. I don't recommend this office.

At about 10:15 AM, I got an email telling me my appointment was cancelled and that I'd need to reschedule, WHILE I SAT IN THE WAITING ROOM. I am going to skip the details, other than to say I never saw my PA, she was AWOL from the practice, one person telling me she was scheduled off, the other telling me she didn't work there and never had. Dr. was not available - out of the office until October. Office manager was not available - hadn't come to work yet, at 10AM. If there was a way to give negative stars, I'd be doing that right now. Already found a new practice to see, they're finding time to fit me in Monday.

The nurse told me I have to be seen with bloodwork done. I told her I am in debt with LabCorp and I couldn't afford bloodwork at this moment. I just need sensors prescription re-up that will give me time to pay off LabCorp and get blood work done so they can assess my insulin needs. I've always understood the protocol and I don't have a problem with it. With even the fact that I am in a hardship situation financially she still would not do the prescription or talk to anybody about it. I have never been retreated so coldly and rudely to have a protocol put above my life. I would've even have taken a sample but no, I guess it's either get your blood work done or die. So I hope anybody reading this understands what they're getting themselves into when they go to this doctor's office. Dr. offices are supposed to help people not make things worse. I've always been a good patient for them and now it seems I am not.

It was obvious my baby was coughing, congested and was miserable. I knew of the less than stellar reputation of this hospital, but selected it because of its proximity to the radiology center. I was pleasantly surprised. Although slow, my treatment in the ER was excellent and I was admitted to the hospital. There I was very pleased with the care that I received. In particular I want to mention nurse, Elena. She, although new, was so very conscientious. In addition, Pauline provided excellent attention. Other staff I want to commend were Erin and Juvie who were always upbeat and helpful. Housekeeping Ivonne was so careful to keep the room clean. John and Robin who delivered food were always helpful. John did his best to help me to track down a charger for my phone and I truly appreciated that. Alina, a nursing assistant, is a jack of all trades. If something needed to be done, she was quick to do it and always with a cheerful demeanor. Abdoul was another happy employee. He was quick to joke with me. The phlebotomists were so kind to be as pain free as possible as they drew blood. I regret that I did not record all the names. Travis Nagle, PA was the first contact I had with a physician. He was so helpful and took the time to talk with my son, a physician, and explain my issues. Dr. Lobo also was so kind and took the time to talk with my son on the telephone to help me to understand my difficulties. I regret that I did not jot down the name of the hospitalist, but she was so very kind and quick to answer my many questions. People complain about hospital food, but I thought it was good at Bayfront with huge portions. I asked that my portions be cut in half. The biggest complaint I had was that the toilet seats are way too low for older people. I can't imagine why they have them so low. Also, the soap dispenser is mounted right over some type of equipment in room 2208 which makes it difficult to use. I was without hand sanitizer in my room for two days. It had still not been filled when I left. That should not be. I do not know why this hospital gets such a bad D rating. I certainly did not find that it merited that rating. The staff works very hard. Of course, as in any organization, some are better than others. I left out some names purposefully but unfortunately, I suspect I forgot names of some who were so dedicated. Should I need, God forbid, to be admitted to a hospital again, I will choose Bayfront Punta Gorda. The staff are outstanding from the minute you walk into the ER waiting room until you are discharged from the hospital. Everyone wants to make you feel like you are welcome and that they are going to take care of you. Way to go, Bayfront!!!
