As soon as the 'engineer' from Premier Electrics entered my home I felt uneasy. Having paid for a professional diagnosis of the problems with my integrated dishwasher I got a printed form with a hand written sentence possibly the motor I challenged this with the 'engineer' who had by this time broken the kick board under my kitchen unit in two (despite being offered a stanley knife 3 times to aid his removal of the edging sealant) I then spoke on the telephone to his boss who seemed set on selling me a new machine, a bottom of the range Amica for £469.00! After some haggling Premier agreed to repair my machine for £182.00. I asked for a different engineer as I had no confidence in the first one. Two days later he returned and 'fixed' my machine. One week later it broke down again, this time another engineer came and fixed a different fault, an electrical wire had come loose in the doorwas this the main fault? Had I paid for a new motor which was now extremely noisy, which I didn't need? To their credit Premier did supply and fit a new kick board almost immediately. 6 months later the machine breaks down again, under the terms of their guarantee Premier send out a third engineer, who diagnoses a poor repair by an employee who has now been sacked for leaving a trail of shoddy workmanship! A new motor is fitted again by another man, who seemed to know what he was talking aboutit is promptly removed, as it this is not the fault! Now it seems I must purchase a new dishwasher, but definitely not from Premier! I paid a call out charge for a professional service, what I got was was an individual who was quite obviously out of his depth, but was sent out to to a repair which he had misdiagnosed, and was arguably not necessary, despite my request for a different engineer. I would suggest a more thorough vetting service, and a better training program of future employees may help Premier to ensure their customers do not pay the price for their mistakes! read more

We have never used Premier Electrics before and booked on line an appointment for five days time. Within 30 minutes we had a telephone call saying that if we were going to be at home someone could call within the next couple of hours as it happened we were just on our way out, but hopefully we would return about 2pm. We were told that if we were out the operative would wait until we returned. This sort of service is unheard of in the appliance repair trade so we were somewhat doubtful. As it happened we arrived back home just after 1.30pm to find the operative waiting. He was extremely polite and efficient and solved our little problem with the dishwasher within minutes. He informed his control room of this, but was told to complete a cycle to ensure every was working correctly. Having paid the call out fee of £59.99 there no extras by credit card the operative left. About an hour later we received a telephone call from Premier Electrics to enquire that the machine was functioning properly and that we were satisfied with the service. What a pleasure to find that old fashioned service still exists we would recommend this firm to anyone. read more

One previous dealing a few months back, to replace washing machine brushes was fine - good service, on time and engineer (Steve) contacted us to advise estimated arrival time. This time - after we had paid for a new washing machine, the service was utterly dismal. We were told that the delivery and installation would be this afternoon. We left it until 15.40hours before ringing to ask when we might expect them to arrive. The response was that the guys were running late but would be with us within the hour. At just before 18.00, we had heard nothing more and on ringing again, a different person was extremely rude and unhelpful. All he would say was that they were on their way and if we hadn't heard to the contrary they would still be coming. There was no apology or anything and when we pointed out the pathetic service, particularly the failutre to contact us to say the delivery was going to be late, he just said good bye and hung up. Completely unacceptable. The delivery and installation was made at 18.15 and in fairness, those guys were pleasant and helpful. read more

I very rarely take the time to praise or review a service I have received, either good or bad. But I feel the level of professionalism, courtesy and service I have received from premier electrics is outstanding. Late on a Friday night our Bosche washing machine had a fault, on calling Premier electrics on Saturday morning, they had an engineer out within the hour. They explained the cost to fix with new parts and compared this with the cost of a new machine (which was cheaper than Curry's). Choosing a new machine, delivery and installation was arranged for the following Friday. Unfortunately this was when we were hit with snowfall. Even though most roads where impassable, Premier Electrics managed to make it to our house. The 2 guys who turned up, where extremely polite and professional, they removed the old machine, and due to the snow even wiped clean the floor on leaving. Unfortunatley Premier Electrics failed to turn up today to repair my dishwasher. When I called up to check if someone was coming they said they had called my number and been told it was a hoax call. As I had dutifully stayed in all morning, and had not received a call I assumed they had called the wrong number. They insisted they had double checked it with directory enquiries, however as I am unlisted this appears untrue. Having called back to complain I was told by someone claiming to be the manager that they didn't need calls from time wasters like me! When I asked them to read back to me the number they had dialled, it had conveniently been 'deleted' from the call log and system. Either this has been a comedy of errors, or I am being lied to..... Overall I am very upset and would not recommend this company. read more

RESPONSE FROM PREMIER ELECTRICS RE CAROLINE: Firstly i would like to apolgise for any problems with the booking process that Carloine experianced. we always contact customers before our arrival by phone. If we do not get a response or have the wrong number we will go to the property or try other ways to contact the customer. If we cannot reach the customer then the call is cancelled and deleted from our booking system. We value all calls and the response that we are stated to have given does seem odd indeed. Response to a faulty machine was prompt and it was established that the 12 year old machine should be replaced. a price of £599 was given to include all costs including fitting and call out. As an o.a.p. I checked the price with local retailers and found the same machine to be available for £379. Allowing for call out and fitting I felt overcharged and challenged their pricing. Premier reconsidered and I obtained a refund of £100. Why I was not advised of a £499 figure originally gives me cause for concern. read more

I called premier electrics about my eight year old aeg lavamat which had developed a fault. They explained over the phone their policy which was clear enough, and the next day i had an engineer arrive at the time agreed. He quickly diagnosed the fault, explained that it could be fixed for 130 quid to which i agreed and half an hour later it was done. Its refreshing to deal with this company, and im pleased i took the desicion to try and repair my machine as its saved me a small fortune. read more

I called at 10.ish on a Saturday morning, was called back after 10mins and the engineer was at my house within half an hour. Job explained, price sorted and machine up and running in less than half an hour. Followed by a call to make sure we were happy. excellent service. I called at 8.45 am and my appliance was repaired by 10.00. The engineer phoned to say he was on his way. The office then phoned to see if we were happy with the service. I will use again and recommend them to any of my friends. read more

I called Premier Electrics first thing Thursday morning to look at my washing machine. By 2pm the machine was fixed by a lovely engineer called Steve. A little pricey but happy to pay for the quick service. read more
