I've mostly worked with Adrian who is a total expert on their wide selection of watches. His knowledge on the style and craftsmanship of all their luxury brands is beyond impressive. I often find myself having a great time just talking with him and learning about the intricate details and history of the different brands they carry. This ultimately resulted in me purchasing a Grand Seiko with the most amazing "snowflake" dial and brilliantly polished metal. I'm in awe every time I wear it. Throughout my visits, I've seen all of the staff eager to help every customer. From walk-ins who just need a simple battery replacement to customers with complex custom jewelry designs, or couples looking for the perfect engagement ring, the staff at Paul Medawar provide the highest level of customer service. I came in with a vintage 1978 Rolex Datejust that has been in the family since original purchase. It needed serious TLC to just be wearable. I was not an established customer, I had no previous experiences with this store. They could have easily said "Sorry, this isn't fixable, but we can sell you a new one." But they didn't brush me off. They took the time (about an hour) to explain what was and was not possible - and why. Ultimately, I just asked David 'What would you do?'. His advice was perfect. Rather than spending thousands of dollars to dramatically alter the watch with new parts etc., he said he could bring it back to wearable condition for the cost of an hour of his time. David did what he said he would do, delivered more than I expected, and I doubt they made a dollar profit from it. This place is the definition of 'class'. My vintage watch is in great shape now and will be worn on special occasions to preserve it for the next generation. In the meantime, I'm in the market for a new daily driver Rolex - and I hope to buy it here.

My wife came home with tons of information, and was very impressed with the level of service that she received during the 60+ minutes that she was in the store. The sales person she was dealing with, Jerene, was super helpful, and even communicated promptly through email many times to answer questions my wife had. When she had narrowed down her selection we visited Jensen's together, and talked with Jerene for probably an hour. We talked about how we could incorporate parts of her current ring into the new ring. She discussed stone options, and never tried to push us outside of the budget we had given her to work in. It isn't very often that you go to an establishment these days, where the sales people are looking to do what is best for the customer, and not what is best for their wallets. Jerene was wonderful in making sure that we got the ring that was exactly what we wanted. An amazing experience, thanks to the wonderful service we received during our visits.

My fiancé purchased a diamond and Phillippe ordered a special box for it. The surprise proposal was perfect and I was delighted that it came with the opportunity to custom design a ring with Phillippe! He was friendly and warm. He really listened to my thoughts as we looked through his styles and we quickly narrowed down what direction I wanted. The ring took three weeks, but was SO worth the wait. I'm getting endless compliments and I find myself meditating regularly because I'm so entranced when the sun or any light hits it. The ring feels so ME! Prices here are not cheap and you cannot just walk in and shop. You must set up an appointment first. This is because they only sell a certain caliber of diamond and the settings are engineered and created in house. They only have a small handful of settings that are prong. All of Phillippe's bezeled and tension settings are a work of ART. People must understand how this is different from the average jewelers everyone recognizes the name of. His work is meant to be cherished and family heirlooms. His business is clean and his staff is courteous. 10000/10!

I found Mr Medawar…read moreto be patronizing at the time and was astounded at what he charged me to clean a watch, over $1,000. When I picked it up, he told me (patronizingly again) that he'd spent far more time working on it than he'd expected, and what a favor he was doing for me by not charging more than the original estimate. A couple of weeks ago, same watch started running fast, but after my initial experience at Phillipe Medwar, I was not going back to him for repair. I took it to another certified watchmaker who told me my watch had been oiled with some cheap gunk used by jewelers when they don't want to take it apart to give it real service. He said this gunk was the butt of jokes among watch repairers. He cleaned it (for real this time) for *$150*. Interestingly, the second watchmaker had been offered a job by one of the Medawars after he graduated from his program and he decided not to take it based on his interaction with them. He went on to own two jewelry stores of his own in central Michigan. So he seems pretty legit. I concur with other reviewers who mentioned Mr. Medawar's ego. That and the way he spoke to me as if I was an idiot had already convinced me I would never go back. My now perfectly working watch with the $150 cleaning confirms it.
