They got me in MUCH sooner than I thought they would, and also had their forms online so I could fill them out beforehand to streamline everything. When I got there, it was a very welcoming, comfortable feeling office, and the staff was very nice. The practitioner listened to all my concerns, and even asked a couple questions that I hadn't thought of myself. She even answered my questions without talking down to me (as had happened before at other medical visits). Bug bonus, when I told her I am a bodybuilder, she told me she was going to run a few extra tests, just as precaution due to our strenuous training. I went back the next week to get the bloodwork results, and was able to start my hormone therapy immediately. I am VERY pleased so far, and am looking forward to working with them.

Wow, we were wrong. What I don't want to write is a novel (but if you have questions, I'll happily answer them) - but there were SEVERAL things that we were extremely unhappy with (all around her lack of 'bedside manner' and her inability to communicate with us). To the point that we had to find a different doctor. But we still stayed within the Cook Children's network (and the transfer within the network was easy). She might be an amazing doctor. But she was incredibly hard to talk with and was down right rude when communicating with Baylor Medical (the hospital where our child was born). We have also filed an official complaint with Cook Children's. If she is your doctor and you love her - then we wish you the best and we're glad you are happy. If you are considering Dr. Arca to be your doctor - please seriously sit down one-on-one and make sure that this is a person you want to communicate with about your child. I am sincere about answering questions about our situation.

My family who were previously nervous that I wasn't seeing and OB or delivering at a hospital, (I'm 4'8", 100lbs pre pregnancy) and after experiencing my birth they absolutely loved being able to be apart of something so beautiful. I was walked through what the tech was doing as each step of the process. When Dr.Barbara Buckley P.A entered the room she was very interested in learning my background. I am forever grateful for her because of the peace she brought me during my journey into motherhood. She would consistently checkup up on me, asking about my health and wellbeing. She was a wealth of knowledge pertaining to evidence based information on pregnancy, labor and delivery, breastfeeding, and postpartum care. I am so thankful for her knowledge and care during those very painful first few weeks of breastfeeding, I really don't think Luca and I would have been as successful without her! I completely underestimated what role she would play during my labor, she was vital to my mental state through the whole thing. When I was ready to give up around every corner, she was there to remind me of my strength and that what I was going through was normal and the pain was only temporary. Something I appreciated most were the scriptures she read to me that lifted my spirit and helped bring joy to my pain. After 30 hours of labor I was exhausted physically and mentally, and she said a prayer over us that brought tears to my eyes and renewed my strength. She knew when to crack a joke to make me laugh, when to reassure me with words of affirmation, and when to just be silent and comfort me with her presence...I call that a great friend! She also made sure I was always taking little sips of water or nibbles of food. She was always 10 steps ahead of me and my discomfort. Her postpartum visits were everything! Just having someone come over to check on my husband and me, mentally and physically, meant the world. When the rest of the world couldn't wait to hold the baby, she was there to hold my hand and tell me that everything was going to be okay. I actually cried at our last visit because I had grown so attached to her! I like to think it wasn't just the hormones talking! I can't forget to mention that this amazing woman spent 16 hours giving me counter pressure on my hips with EVERY contraction! Talk about arm strength! you will not regret having her apart of your birth team! Britany, I can't say enough good things about you! She noticed as soon as I stopped coping with contractions as well and was always there to change positions, provide hip squeezes, or give another idea or encouragement. She fanned me with a paper fan with peppermint oil on it when I was nauseous and helped give me guidance when I was in doubt. She was there for us before, during, and after our birth. She also took some wonderful pictures throughout our labor (many more than I posted because many are personal). I was a little unsure about hiring a doula initially and now I couldn't imagine going through labor without her. We will definitely be hiring her for any future births.

Awful experiences. Each time, I have to follow up myself to…read moreensure I get the care I need. During visits, Dr. Leon seems SO busy or over booked (or just does not care), doesn't know which pt he is seeing, who I am or why I am there. He does not take time to get to know you or educate you at all. For example, during my very first visit with Dr. Leon, he asked if I have "any pertinent family history" - the average person may not know what that means OR what is considered pertinent. My patch test came back posistive for items, including nickel. He asked if I eat a lot of canned food to which I replied "not really, well we have been eating a lot of tuna lately". He did not acknowledge that reply and moved onto his next question. Should I be avoiding tuna or other canned foods??? I guess I will never know. He asked many questions like this to which I replied yes, and he just moved onto the next question with no education or guidance. I asked him the best way to know if I am allergic to a products ingredient if that item was not included in the patch test, to which he replied very odd - giving me a non answer and just telling me to scan my products in the allergy app. Ok, well if we dont test for X, the app will say I am not allergic to X - so that does not help me. I asked him about 3 different, nice ways to which he replied "This is the gold standard and we do patch testing multiple times per week". Again, a non answer and he seemed almost offended that I would ask how I know if I am allergic to something or not that we do not test for. It was super weird so I dropped it. During my follow up with him, he walked into the room and asked ME to remind HIM what my "chief complaint is" bc he didn't take 30 sec to review my chart first. We were in the middle of talking, and after a few min he opens the laptop and says "Anne right?" as though he didn't know WHICH pt I was for sure and had to double check. At my follow up, I had to remind them I was also there for a nasal scope. Dr. Leon was supposed to send a medication to my pharmacy after my appt, that same day and did not. I had to follow up the next day to ask them to send it. Appts are very long, I am often put in a room and wait 45 min or more to be seen. I was also told I needed a sinus CT scan but they could not see me for 5 weeks! Insane. I explained I cannot wait that long and asked to be fit in that week, or send the order to an outside facility, so they did fit me in. I went in this week, Thurs 8/13 for the in office CT scan and waited in the lobby for 30 min. The front desk went to check on my wait time, and when she came back, I heard her tell her coworker that the main guy who does the scan was out that day and the girl covering was not monitoring the CT scan schedule. Great. I was told Dr. Leon would call me with the CT scan results (he reads them in the office), I was given option to wait for him to come talk to me about results in person that day while I was there or a phone call and chose a call because I needed to get back to work. It was implied and understood by me that he would call the same day, this was Thursday. Of course, he did not call me with the results. I sent a msg on the patient portal Thurs 8/13 evening asking them to call me Friday before the weekend as my symptoms were very uncomfortable and I am hoping to know results/treatment plan/meds etc before the weekend. At this point, it's been several weeks since I started coming here and we've tried two diff meds that have not helped. I still did not get a call before they closed Friday 8/14 for the weekend. Do not expect any bedside manner, education, answer to your questions, or prompt care here. I plan to follow up again next week on the scan results and I have already scheduled with a new doctor/office to transfer my care

We had an initial consult with Dr Gada. His bed side manors were awesome. He seemed to really care…read more After the consult we decided to move forward with our fertility journey. Just to give you an idea of what all procedures we did with him, here's a list. 1- IUI 2- Egg Retrievals 2- Transfers (one was only an attempt) 1- Polyp removal surgery Once the initial great consult was over..... we almost NEVER saw the Dr. We saw him only for the major procedures. Never for sonograms. Never for appointments leading up to the procedures. Not even for our IUI. We didn't even talk to him at any point during or leading up to our IUI. A nurse performed the IUI, not him. After my first egg retrieval we decided to get our embryos PGT tested. The company that they sent our biopsy's to..... LOST OUR BIOPSIES. It took a month and a half to get the results in on if our embryos were okay or not. Every time we would call the company to ask if they had found them, they didn't even know what I was talking about. I called Dr Gadas office on two different occasions in tears that nobody would help me and they lost our biopsy's. We were informed it was up to me to figure it out. They wouldn't even call the company for me. It was DEVASTATING. A nurse gave me the company's representative number and said "Maybe this will help, there's nothing else I can tell you." Fast forward to our transfer. Again- One of the only times we see the Dr. I ended up having a miscarriage. Never talked to the Dr, not even a phone call once it was confirmed I was having a miscarriage. I finally called the office to see if we could talk to the Dr to see if we would change protocol, or If he had any idea what happened. We were informed he could "maybe call us on a Tuesday when he got off work." I pleaded for them to ask if he could call after 5:30 as I had to work that day (they wouldn't let us pick any other day.) We were told they would leave him a note and that's the best they could do. Sure enough, he called at 4. I couldn't answer the phone so he had to talk to my husband. My husband recorded the conversation so I could hear it later..... he wouldn't even get my chart out to look at it during the conversation. Fast forward to egg retrieval number 2. We again asked if we could talk to the dr to see if our second egg retrieval would follow different protocol..... again.... We were told he would "try to call us on a Tuesday after work"..... and again.... He didn't even have my chart pulled when he talked to us. We were nothing but another cow in his cattle call. Fast forward to my next transfer. They MISSED my ovulation and we had to scrap the ENTIRE cycle. No call from the Dr. No changed protocol. We didn't even request a call from the dr after that. On top of the Dr complaints, many times the nurses missed things. You're never assigned one nurse. You talk to the office through a portal. So many times you talk to multiple people who don't know what you're talking about. Because of this MANY times we had to remind THEM to send in a prescription. On one occasion they didn't even remember they were going to put me on birth control to speed up my transfer date. I had to go over it with them and request it be done. Unbelievable. My husband was FURIOUS. The amount of negligence was so upsetting and truly disturbing. We stayed with him so long because we kept thinking "We're almost done after this procedure." But then we'd have something else go wrong and when all was said and done, we were with him almost exactly a year to the day. We were nothing but a cattle call. The real kicker. Dr Gada was SO HARD to get ahold of and NEVER was there for ANY appointment other than a procedure. But once we decided to leave, he immediately called me and asked if there was anything he could do and if I was okay. A YEAR We waited for him to talk to use and at least act like he cared. Fast forward to now. We switched Dr's and the difference was night and day. We were assigned a nurse and she's the only nurse we talk to. And she answers all our emails and has regular meetings with us to make sure we feel secure in all our decisions. We see the Dr EVERY visit unless it's something super minor like a blood drawl. The level of care is SO UNBELIEVABLY different. Once we got away from Dr Gada I started reaching out to other women. Here's what I figured out. Years ago he cared a lot and was super attentive, but once his numbers got to where they are now, he does as little as possible and relies on his nurses to do everything else. And on top of that, his nurses are vastly over worked. All I can conclude is it's now about the money for him. My husband decided half way through this I would leave this review no matter if he got me pregnant or not because the care was so awful. We finally left, not pregnant. But not becoming pregnant is NOT why this review is being left. It is the level of care, or lack there of should I say.
