In 2023, it was discovered that our dog had a lemon size tumor inside his abdominal area pushing against his GI tract causing severe constipation in our dog. We live in Los Angeles county and we had a lot of surgery consultations in our area that gave us ridiculously high quotes. Not only did every surgeon we talked to quote us an astronomical price, they also made us feel that the surgery would be a high risk on our dog's life. It made us seriously think about putting down our dog because we couldn't afford these costs. I honestly don't even remember how we discovered this place. It was an hour drive from our home and each visit was honestly worth it. First, Dr. Greco and his team were incredible people. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and completely understanding of our situation. Our pre-op visits were very reassuring. There needs to be an option for more stars. We came to Dr. Greco to fix a prior surgery done by our regular vet to remove our dog's anal glands. He had a rare outcome that we were monitoring to delay having to get a second surgery as long as possible. The first surgery had been a nightmare, and we did not want to go through that again. But, if we had to, we wanted to make sure we put our dog/son in the hands of the best of the best. We braced ourselves for a month of hell. He went into surgery and within a day he was.....fine? He never once in the two weeks since has acted like he just had a major surgery. He hasn't even needed to wear a cone because he has not been licking or interested in his butt. Highly recommend PVS. I was referred by my primary Vet in Torrance. I was referred to surgery centers closer to home but I wasn't comfortable with one and another quoted an outrageous estimate. 5/5 for Dr Greco's expertise as a board certified surgeon - Our dog Gigi was detected with a cancerous mass near his anal glands that needed surgical removal. Gigi's health quickly went downhill in a day with increased calcium levels. Dr Greco was able to fit us for a consultation the same week. We quickly trusted his expertise because he was very detailed in explaining what Gigi was dealing with and what the surgical procedure was going to be. We (Gigi's pawrents) both work in Tech and are extremely research, detail oriented and appreciated that Dr Greco took the time to answer all our questions. Immediately after the surgery Gigi's calcium level dropped to normal which was indicative of a successful mass removal. Gigi was in good spirits after the surgery. 3/5 for post op care -The biopsy and cell culture reports took around 10 days (which is probably standard for LA/California but comparing to NYC where it takes a day) Because the cell culture report was delayed, Gigi wasn't administered the full set of antibiotics and developed an infection on his external incision point. We had to rush him to 3 different emergency hospitals over the weekend for a diagnosis and additional antibiotics. The full set of antibiotics helped and Gigi made full recovery from his surgery in 14 days. 5/5 for the staff - super nice and responsive over text/calls (except weekends when they are closed) however we did have trouble getting a refill of the antibiotics over phone. Overall we are very happy with our decision to work with Dr Greco, and appreciate his expertise and willingness to deep-dive into the details. My dog had a freak accident while playing in a grassy field. She's a small maltipoo. One minute she was happily walking on the field, the next she did a full vertical leap in the air, easily up to my hip area (whereas she stands at full height at probably about mid-calf). When she leapt up, she let out a loud yelp and wouldn't put her rear right foot down upon landing. She limped around afterwards. I thought maybe she was stung by a bee or maybe had something wedged in her paws so I put her impacted foot in some warm water with epsom salt when we got home a few minutes later. Neither the soak nor a cold ice pack helped. After a weekend of her hobbling around, I took her to our regular vet who, after x-rays, thought it might just be a luxating patella which is apparently fairly common among small dogs. I was told it should be fine but if I was worried, to see a specialist & the vet gave me a recommendation for Precision. Two days later, the limping went from intermittent to constant so to Precision we went. The vet diagnosed her with a tear in the fibrous ligaments holding her SDFT, basically a tear in the equivalent of her achilles tendon and the area was popping out of alignment. Oddly, it's a rare problem typically associated with agility dogs ... and then there's my 12 lb maltipoo. :/ The procedure was going to be about $6k. We had some issues with our insurance company claiming the issue was not covered but Precision went above and beyond in helping us through that issue. The vet surgeon personally wrote up a note to help explain the diagnosis and why the recommended procedure should be covered. Our insurance company changed their coverage opinion after receiving word from the surgeon. Literally the day before her scheduled surgery, my doggo stopped limping as suddenly as she started. With the doctor's input, I decided to take a wait and see approach. The surgeon advised that it could be that the tear in the ligament was healing and popped back into alignment in which case we could wait to see if she moved around OK; or, if she started limping again in the next few weeks, we could move forward with surgery. My pup thankfully didn't limp again so we decided to cancel the surgery altogether. I'm so thankful for Precision because they were able to diagnose a hard to determine issue & were so thoughtful in helping through the insurance issue. That was so greatly appreciated because dealing with any insurance company, regardless of human or pet, is an annoyance and something you don't want to deal with when your fur baby is hurting. I was prepared to just pay out of pocket but Precision was instrumental in securing coverage. While we ultimately didn't need the procedure, I walked away knowing if ever a situation came up, I'd go to Precision because of their care and their dedication to the health of my pup. read more

I had to take my dog, Reggie, in to see Dr. Greco to discuss surgery to remove his gallbladder due to an excessive buildup of sludge. I had been treating this condition with medications while he was under the care of an internist for a while, but unfortunately the medications were no longer enough. Dr. Greco had an internist (Dr. Woosley) come in to do another ultrasound on him and his gallbladder had in fact worsened and was now an early mucocele. Both Dr. Greco and Dr. Montel discussed the options with me and thoroughly explained the surgery to me along with the pros and cons. Not once did I ever feel pressured to make a decision and I also wasn't given an insanely high estimate like most places! Both of the doctors made me feel comfortable and confident that my fur baby would be in good hands, so earlier this week we proceeded with the surgery. Dr. Greco and Dr. Montel did an amazing job on his surgery and Angie, who was monitoring him during the procedure, took such great care of him! The whole team at PVS was so good to him and cared for him as if he were their own. My dog, Gracie, had a mass growing rapidly. PVS took in Gracie that same week for a consultation. Dr. Montel wanted to see what kind of mass was growing on her, so he did a sedated biopsy that same day on Gracie. The results came back 5 days later as an aggressive tumor. Both Dr. Montel and Dr. Greco talked me through all the options and their recommendations to treat this cancer on my baby. They did not rush my decision and the next day I decided to do surgery to remove the mass on her jaw. I LOVED how they did not outrageously quote me for the surgery which included the exam, medications, and post surgery recheck! Great prices unlike corporate animal hospitals and other vet surgery specialists in orange county! The surgery performed on Gracie was a bilateral mandibulectomy aka remove the tip of her jaw because the mass had taken over that part. My English bulldog she is such a gem after being incorrectly diagnosed and not finding an ACL tear at 2 vets - I can only say that I wish I brought her to this surgeon earlier. He made sure all my questions were answered and explained everything in detail. I was also impressed at what a great impression he and his staff made on Sophie. Sophie tends to need to have her trust earned but that was not the case here. Sophie immediately felt comfortable and relaxed with Dr. Greco and his whole staff. Everyone here was helpful, kind, skilled and concerned with making sure Sophie was given the best possible care. We had a CT scan and the surgery done and it was flawless! I got text messages and phone updates after and during surgery and even after release they checked in on Sophie to see how she was doing. We are 5 months post op and she is still doing amazing!!! I cannot say enough great things about this place and Dr. Greco. Came here for my dog's ACL surgery and I am so glad I did. They have been the most personable and heartfelt group of people. They took the time to go over every single detail of the procedure, recovery, and just about everything else.
