Absolutely poor communication + poor service - do not use…read more I contacted Agape to do some aeration for reseeding this fall for a small lawn front and back. Their communication was slow to respond and often kept trying to up-sell me on doing a sod installation for thousands of dollars. I typically reseed myself and hire someone to do the aeration. I was going to treat myself this year and have someone reseed for me after aeration. I specifically asked for a scalp mow prior to aeration in my correspondence with them. I was quoted a higher price than most folks off of Nextdoor by a couple hundred dollars but figured I'd give them a try since their reviews were pretty solid. Aeration and scalp mowing is usually around $150-$200 for most smaller yards as the current going rate. They listed their aeration as "double aeration" (it wasn't). Once they came out their crew did not scalp mow ( which means they are laying seed to compete with what's already on the ground) the only aerated half the spots that I was quoted for. I had to visually scour the yard to see any seed that had been applied. A truly poor execution for the price. I spent the entire weekend going back over their work and putting down seed and fertilizer and covering the seed with pete moss. They also had listed putting down starter fertilizer and straw on bare patches in their quote, but they didn't do either. It appears anything that was put down was by hand and not using a spreader for any of the seeding. I was truly shocked that their level of quality and what it was billed for at twice the going rate, and worse than the people I've used off Nextdoor. an absolutely terrible level of service. I will not being using them again.

They had previously repaired leaks, rebuilt my valve manifold, rebuilt my backflow, replaced valves, replaced broken heads, backflow testing, etc. Those previous experiences were quick, done well, and competitively priced. For my latest work request, I was looking to add two sprinkler heads to an existing zone (2x Hunter I-20 rotors) about 20 feet from the nearest respective heads. Dr. Sprinkler was my first call, and my experience was nothing like previous ones. The tech showed up, met with me briefly, sketched the location of the new heads and left. I received an invoice for $212 that only covered generating the estimate. I was aware that a service charge would be included in the initial visit, but expected the included initial labor fee to include more than just generating an estimate. Three business days passed and I had to ask for the actual estimate to be provided. They sent it over promptly after I asked, but the 'parts' cost for the two heads and pvc materials was listed at $738. The labor was a separate line item for 3 man hours, and was priced reasonably. I'm no irrigation expert, but I know these heads retail at about $25 each and PVC material is a couple of bucks per foot. Fittings are less than a dollar. Previous work done by the same company had charged $38 per rotor for the same I-20 head. I fail to see where the other $650 is going as it relates to parts. If you choose to go with this company for irrigation work, I can say that they do good work, but beware that you will be charged over $200 for an estimate and the estimate they give you could have extreme price gouging on parts.

That trust was the reason I didn't even consider another company when it came time for a new irrigation system. Unfortunately, this project has been a nightmare. From the start, the system ran at 110 PSI before a pressure-reducing valve was installed. Soon after, Zone 1 failed and multiple spray heads had to be replaced due to debris. By midsummer, a large soaked area appeared in my front yard. Despite repeated visits, I received contradictory explanations -- first it was "just drainage," then valves were replaced, then a leak was suspected. Weeks later, the yard is still not dry, the ground has sunk, and the area smells and attracts flies. A leak detector finally found a leak right in front of the backflow, before he could even check the rest of the system or the still-soaked front yard. Now it is Labor Day weekend, and after months of repeated visits, contradictory explanations, and incomplete fixes, there is still no end in sight -- all while the system is still under warranty.

The technician, Anthony, told us the repair kit would cost about $100. That already seemed high, but I agreed. When the bill arrived, we were charged over $200 just for the parts. On top of that, they claimed the technician was here longer than he actually was. I reached out to their coordinator, Kim Ayscue, and got no help at all. After reading more reviews, it is clear that this kind of overcharging is a regular thing for them. It is really disappointing and has made us reconsider working with Agape as well. I would strongly recommend avoiding Greenway Irrigation unless you want to be overcharged and ignored!

The process was smooth from the start--he turned around a quote within just a few days, and the crew was able to begin work about two weeks later. Well, yes, we do mistrust them considering what we hired them for was not being done and we had several phone calls to their office asking what they were doing to address a black fungus that was growing in our grass. Apparently their answer was to spray a fungicide on the grass ($660 worth) that, as you can see in the email we just received, was not going to address the issue! So you send your guys out here to spray something on the grass you know won't work? And you wonder why we don't trust you? Not only this, but we often felt overcharged for simple mowing and edging, at one point even notifying the office we were charged for a day they clearly had not come to the house. If you do decide to use this company, monitor them the entire time they're there to ensure you're not getting charged for things they don't do and don't expect them to diagnose and treat any problems. If they do screw up, expect to be told one thing in person and another via email. We had agreed in person they would replace half our sod if they couldn't rectify the issue and instead received the attached email later that day. Ridiculous.
