Came to Precision in El Cajon to finally use a promo voucher my husband purchased for me to get my car oil changed. Upon walking in, I was pleasantly greeted by the front desk staff, which I appreciated. They were friendly and professional from the start. I was asked if I was there for tint service, and when I said yes, I was informed that they weren't able to work on my car that day. Apparently, an employee had recently walked out, which has impacted their staffing and ability to complete as many vehicles as usual. I was told they're currently operating on a first-come, first-served basis in the mornings only and are not accepting scheduled appointments due to being short-staffed. While I understand that staffing issues happen, it definitely left me unsure of what to think -- especially since we purchased a promo voucher with the understanding that I'd be able to use it at my leisure. Unfortunately, mornings don't work for my schedule, so now the value of that voucher feels a bit limited and of very little value. I left disappointed but not upset. The staff was kind, and I do appreciate the honesty. I'm willing to give them another try and see if I can make it in earlier one morning. Hopefully things smooth out for them soon because customer service-wise, the initial impression was good -- it's just the availability that needs improvement. I'll give an update when I get my car. I brought my car in expecting a simple service that my Toyota manufacturer's website clearly lists as acceptable (Groupon even states 0W20). Precision Auto outright refused to do it and then wouldn't even refund me. On top of that, the place is disgusting - it smells like pee, is dirty, and completely unkempt. Sadly I can recommend this repair shop anymore. After 10 years of taking my cars here and many many recommendations, this shop has changed! Changed in the worst way possible. I used to trust this shop 100%. Once Manny left the shop took a huge hit, but with Dad/Owner Karim still at the shop, I still trusted the place. But now Karim is rarely in the shop and remember the dreaded untrustworthy mechanic I mentioned? Well, with Luis in charge now that Karim isnt around, he is the ultimate in the mechanics everyone despises. After the last year of taking my cars, my parents cars, we have enough dealing with Luis! Then come to find out, most of my coworkers from the local area whom recommended this place to me 10-15 years ago ALL feel the same way and stopped going to this shop also because of Luis! I am not knocking the work they do there. But I do not trust Luis. The work he says needs done and the prices he quotes plus is unfriendly demeanor are what leads me to this feeling. Last note: This repair shop used to be packed with cars in the bays, other cars waiting for service. Now, half the bays are empty and the lot is empty! That says it all right there!! I suggest going elsewhere. I found a new very trustworthy shop to take me cars. And friends also started taking theirs cars there also. read more

Ask for Justin or Jeff they will treat you with respect. I was so disrespected when I confronted them about the shotty work they had done. 1000 dollars and no progress. I have an 01' S2000 it runs amazing thanks to CarTune. I take my 4Runner to this place and they replace the part without asking me if they could do so and essentially end up charging me for the alternator due to a bad cell. 1 day after picking up the car, it won't start and has a check engine light on. I've been coming here the last few years and they have done oil changes on my last 3 cars. They always have deals on Groupon and normally offer a $5 off coupon on their stickers for the next oil change. Yes, they do get busy and I've had to wait an hour or 2 for an oil change. But I normally walk to Starbucks and by the time I walk back it is ready shortly after. During quarantine they had an outside seating area as there was no seating inside available (due to COVID)... they have signs for requiring masks as of recently but the employees I've seen some wear them and some not.. I don't think it is enforced. Anyhow this is the first time I didnt walk to Starbucks but I watched the employees zip through the oil changes... while the seasoned mechanics were able to do twice as much, I know they had a huge turn over from the pandemic as I've come and they have been short handed and unable to squeeze in an oil change... and I had to venture to another place for an oil change... they do leave the door open so if your car is in one of the first two bays, you can keep an eye on your vehicle. Dont recommend this shop at all even tho I did at one point. Ive had brakes, rotors, oil change, etc.. got lots of services done at this shop. Had an AC leak from the valves, valves only cost couple bucks. they diagnosed the car, "changed" the valves and filled up the AC, charged an arm and leg dont exactly remember. forward couple months later AC goes back to hot. Got valves checked and theyre still leaking. probably didnt even change them just filled up AC that lasted very short time. Besides the crappy oil they use not even gonna get into that. Check the shop out for yourself, better if you dont! read more

People doubt honest mechanics but I took my car in as my breaks were making a noise and thought it must be time for them to be replaced. To my surprise I received a call from the shop to let me know my breaks were still good and gave me the measurement on each pad! I DO NOT recommend this mechanic shop to anyone! My car stopped due to the cooling issue that needed to be replaced so the towing came and dropped it at this shop because it was the closest one to me. It was my first time going in there and the guy( I believe his name was Loui) was very rude from the beginning and didn't even seem like he wanted to help me! Online it says they close at 5 pm Saturdays we got there at 3:50 and they said they close at 4! I had to wait till Monday only for them to tell me they are going to charge me $418 for replacing the thermostat! I called two other mechanic shops one of them told me they would do it for 250 and the other 150$!! They also charged me 75$ extra for "running the diagnostics" to see what the issue was when I already Told them the problem and what I needed! The guy loui got really mad when I told him I was taking my car somewhere else and also writing a review for the way he treated me as a woman he disrespected me and said "I don't know anything about cars". They wasted my time and days and still charged me 75$ for nothing and it was my first and last time there! They are scammers rude and they don't have good customer service. They have the worst customer service ever from the cashier to the workers yet they have a sign that states "sorry if wait time is slow due to shortage on staff". I just had to offer this updated review, even though it's another stars, because this place deserves it. I have been coming here for years now, and they still provide that same quality and honest service, but honestly, I feel that it has gotten even better. The attendance provide friendly service with good senses of humor. When I speak to the mechanics, they are open and take the time to explain what they are doing and why, and the owner "Ken" is about as sincere and honest one came be, especially with the type of business he runs. Over the years, for my past two vehicles, I've been in for hassle free oil changes, dealer scheduled maintenance, brake inspections and repairs, radiator replacements, smog check, light replacements, and cabin filter replacements. They do it all with the care and precision. I see myself bringing my vehicles here for the foreseeable, especially since there work meets the standards of the vehicle manufacture specifications for a very reasonable price. (From one business owner to another) With that said, allow me to additionally clarify some things you mentioned. #1 I didn't threaten your company with a negative review, I told you to inform the owner that I will be leaving feedback on Yelp & it will accurately convey the treatment I received. That is not a threat but a statement & one I followed through on. You may want to take a step back & review my reviews that I leave on Yelp. You will notice that 99% of my reviews are positive, I usually go out of my to do that.. In your case, your company seems to have to no comprehension of customer service. If you roll out a new policy that negatively effects current customers you might want to rethink your rollout of these policies. Please understand that your company dropped so many balls that I felt compelled to warn other people & that is very rare for me. I hope you make changes to the way in which you treat people. Instead of apologizing and do something to remedy the situation, you blame the customer. Instead of looking inward on the fact that your new policies caused this situation & again... you have a copy machine in the office, how easy would it have been to print it out & get the job completed?... Here's another statement (not threat). I'm going to make time in my extremely busy schedule to file an official complaint with your franchise board & with the better business bureau. I had the confirmation on my phone & they had it in their system but they still required a printout when in the past that wasn't necessary (Apparently it's a new rule). There was a copy machine directly behind the receptionist.. So I asked her, can we print it out from there? She said "it's not plugged in." So I asked and said "hey this was not necessary last time, any chance you can plug it in & help me out this time, I would really hate to drive all the way back home to printout something. She says "nope, I just enforce the rules." I said, but you already have me in your system. Then she says "too bad for you." Honestly I'm just flabbergasted all the way around I won't be coming back even if we ALREADY PAID. As an owner if your going to create new rules such as you need to have a printout of something that you already paid for EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE THE INFORMATION IN THEIR SYSTEM, you should be smart enough to have your printer plugged in & service your customers. This is a classic case of HORRIBLE customer service & a great way to permanently lose a customer. Came here on a Sunday morning , about 5 minutes after they open . There was already a long line . Ok , I get it they are cheaper than most places . But the receptionist was really slow , I mean it was inappropriate slow . She took about 6 minutes per customer to check you in . Then she slowly walked out to the cars to finish the check in . As I stood there waiting in line a very long time I noticed the mechanics also took their sweet time working on 1 car at a time . Maybe they're slow to wake up on a Sunday morning . I don't know but Sunday is your day to get a lot of stuff done and you're no going to get a lot of stuff done if you have to wait here two to three hours for a simple oil change, because they are very slow .. Today was my first visit at this auto care spot, and would definitely recommend. I was around the area, I needed a smog without even realizing it had to be star certified and landed at the right spot. I was greeted by a mechanic and he was very friendly and then directed me to the actual entrance. I was then greeted by Ken, which was so kind and helpful. They were able to see my car with no appointment and were very efficient. I waited inside(covid friendly) until my car was ready to go. Ken (Im assuming the owner) created conversation while I waited. While waiting customers kept coming in and out. Which is a good sign. After 40mins I was good to go and my car pasted the smog . He called me back and gave me a quote. 2 weeks later I brought my car in and one week later they inform me that they can't do the work.
