I cannot recommend Precision Tree Services because they block your driveway, and when asked to move their truck, they refuse to do so. Their trucks take over the street without regard to the neighbors and their ability to get in and out of their driveways. I asked the guy to move his truck (which he had plenty of other places on the street where he could park, which was as close to where he was working), and he simply refused to do so. I hired Precision Tree again to prune some dead limbs from a large tree. I thought it was a rather challenging job (many of the limbs were quite high up) and their guys handled it with great skill. I contacted a few companies for removing dead branches off our tree. Joe of Precision tree is the first that reached back to me, and he got me the best quote, too. communication is great. They actually came a little bit earlier and removed all the branches before the storm. It also worked better for my schedule. Definitely will consider for future tree jobs. I agree with the other reviewer...if I could give them more "stars" I would! We needed a very tall oak tree cut down in our back yard because it hangs directly over our all-glass solarium, and it was dying! I called 4 other companies to obtain quotes. Precision's quote was considerably lower than all the others by $1,850-2,350! Chris and his team were prompt, flexible and courteous from quote to finish! He brought a team of 6 guys and in 2.5 hours the tree was down. My husband and I watched them work and I can report that they were extremely careful (remember this is over a totally glass solarium with a glass roof). When the tree was down, they blew away all the sawdust and leaves and left the surrounding area and our driveway cleaner than when they arrived. By the way, they are insured and have been doing business for 20+ years. read more

Well, this was an experience to say the least. I called Chris for an emergency tree branch removal from my Jeep. He came quickly, which was appreciated. That was all he did. He met my wife, who's Jeep was under a tree. Apparently, because I wasn't there, he told her to just drive out from under the tree before he would do anything. Her complaint was that if other parts of the Jeep become damaged since the tree was still on it, the insurance may not cover it since it wasn't part of the tree falling and they instructed to have someone cut the tree off the Jeep and then they would tow. However, this is all heresay. I wasn't home. Here's my experience: Chris called me to say that he didn't know who this woman at the house was but she kept shaking her head and telling him no so he wasn't going to do the service. When I asked him to explain what happened, he said "Let me finish" and then went into a tirade about how much work he does in the area and he "has no idea what is up with [us] people in Northern Virginia". Let me start by saying 5 stars is not enough for Joe and Precision Tree. We contacted 6 companies about a large, dead tree in our back yard, and out of the 4 that actually called us back, Joe's quote was by far the best (as a reference he was almost a THIRD of the price of the first company!) Joe let me know they were booking about a month out, which was fine at the time, until we woke up one morning to a massive dead limb in our yard. I emailed Joe in a panic asking if they had any openings could we get bumped up in the schedule...9 days later the tree is now gone. Joe and his team also chipped a woodpile that had been left on the property...and even went to the trouble of chipping all the branch debris I had put in our yard waste bin! I would have never expected a company to go so above and beyond what Precision Tree did...it is obvious they care about their customers, which I feel is (sadly) a rarity in this area. Chris and his people at Precision Tree are fabulous people to work with. I've used them twice, first back in August 2017 to remove a 70-foot-tall Silver Maple in front of our house. They did a fantastic job at a very fair price. They brought in a huge crane and made quick work of the tree, using an immense grinder to chew everything up. They ground the stump down well below ground level and regraded the soil. Months later the grass had covered over to the point you would not realize the tree had ever been there. More recently (July 2019), I had Chris come out to advise me on trimming a couple of large trees and possibly removing some smaller trees in my back yard, to allow me to install some Amateur Radio antennas. Chris immediately recognized what needed to be done and scheduled his team to come by one morning. Within two hours of their arrival, everything was trimmed, removed, and cleaned up. This is what customer-oriented service is all about. In both cases, they did exactly what needed to be done, effectively and efficiently. They cleaned up and left the yard in great shape and did it all at a fair price. I highly recommend them for any tree related services you may need. read more

This company was hired by a next door neighbor to remove trees. We made the employees aware of the property line and they were told not to remove ours. They did so anyways and did not stop until the police were called. The owner was made aware of the situation and did not bother to contact us to apologize or make it right.
