I share my experience more from the point of a patient with a rare and notorious to diagnose heart…read morecondition. The rarity of my illness must have contributed to my interaction with Dr. Dao. So if your illness is more of the regular type, your experience could be different. I would prefer it to be 2.5 star, but there is no such thing, thus. On initial impression, Dr. Dao asked the most complete set of questions on my first visit. I came to Dr. Dao after visiting many Cardiologists, not being to get a diagnose. I had high hope at the time. From those questions, I think Dr. has a good grasp of medical knowledge a general cardiologist should. Unfortunately mine is on the special and rare type. At that time I got a not yet confirmed self-diagnose with the help of AI. (Yes, AI.) And interestingly, the diagnose was later confirmed via surgery with a prominent specialist cardiologist majoring in that field, after my visit with Dr. Dao. Dr. Dao claimed she had treated patients with my rare medical condition before, though she didn't fully agree with the diagnose before the confirmation surgery. And in later interactions with her, I often found her knowledge more from a general cardiologist point's of view, not covering the full spectrum of my illness's speciality. Quite a few times her understanding is contrary to what I experienced, and some suggestion could be even harmful to my situation. I think she covers the general side well, and she meant well. But unfortunately being a very confident cardiologist, she has an intention to center the interaction more around her opinion, it could feel like lecturing, rather than helping or listening. And the shown knowledge gap in that specific field often distracts me in our communication, aiding my dropping of confidence in her. I believe mostly because of the rarity of my medical condition, further visit with Dr. Dao on this topic may not help much. Again, your mileage may vary.

Dr. Dao And her office staff are truly wonderful people…read more Within 6 hours of my referral being sent, I had an appointment for the next business day. Not only were they incredibly accommodating, they were real human beings that spoke to me with respect and compassion despite my bitchiness. I'm not sure if it's because I'm getting "old" (30), or of my brain is degenerating but I seriously sometimes don't know what is coming out of my mouth. I have absolutely no filter and can be incredibly demeaning. ‍ I hate this about myself and after I realize what I've done I usually apologize profusely, but still--its a thing ‍ Anyways, Dr. Dao listened to me through my tangents and side stories and and spontaneous sons and she was professional and kind-hearted (pun intended) but not overly so, maintaining her acedemic and intellectual posture... Despite my totally rude behavior. I trust her professional judgement and will recommend her to those looking for an exquisite physician ‍ Side note, she looks like she's 22 which might take you off guard and the waits can be long. But like wait times can't even be considered because it means she is taking the time necessary with each patient--I've also vowed to never complain about doctor's office wait times ‍

We asked for a translator, which she arranged for promptly. The appointment with the doctor was running a few minutes late, which is quite normal for doctor's appointments. But once Dr. Balakrishnan came, the level of professionalism and patience I saw in her was unparalleled to what I have seen in hospitals in the Bay Area (and I have been to quite a few doctors with my dad). The doctor spoke to my dad via a translator, was very slow and patient in listening and responding, and made sure my dad understood what she was trying to say. I also added a couple of things, and she took them into account too. She suggested further tests and we will see her again in a month or so. I highly recommend Dr. Balakrishnan as a cardiologist for anybody who is looking for a thoughtful and thorough doctor.

My grandmother has been going to him for almost two years for varicose vein pain and has received no improvement. All he does is schedule pointless 'follow-ups' for the same ultrasound results, clearly just to generate more billing. In my opinion, this is unethical, appears fraudulent, and should be investigated by the medical board. Every single visit is the same nightmare: 3-hour waits in a packed waiting room because he deliberately books 50-100 patients at the same time. When you finally get called, he spends less than two minutes, doesn't look you in the eye, doesn't explain anything, and certainly doesn't treat the patient with any respect. It's seems like an assembly line scam, not medical care. We were there today and this appointment was the worst. After wasting three hours of our time, he repeated the exact same ultrasound explanation from the prior month. When I told him he was repeating himself, he stormed out--then came back in aggressively and tried reaching to grab both my grandmother's arm and mine to force us out of the office. That crosses the line into attempted assault. Only when I pulled out my phone and began recording did he stop. His behavior was not only unprofessional but also threatening, dangerous, and completely unacceptable especially in any medical setting. My grandmother has lost two years, thousands of dollars, and countless hours--and she is still in pain with no real treatment. Do not take your loved ones here unless you want to be robbed of your time, disrespected, and put at risk. This place is a disgrace and a danger to patients.

However, I had never heard anything back from him or his assistants for 4 months! After I made many calls to the clinic (most calls not answered), they finally referred me to a specialist, but that doctor is not even belonging to the physician group under my health plan, so the long-waited referral got declined! His office environment is a big mess, always overcrowded due to over booking, that's why he rushes in and out to multiple appointments without taking much needed time to each one of his patients. His staff hardly answer any phone calls, forgot to send my prescriptions to a new pharmacy, promised me to prioritize the referral process (that was after 4 months), but never updated me anything. I will never go back to that place again.

My mom has seen Dr Reddy for about 18 month, after she had an unexplained faint episode. He prescribed a number of tests, echocardiogram, heart monitor measuring electrical pulse signals over a month, and concluded my mom has Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), and referred to a electro cardiologist for a ablation procedure, which ultimately was not done due to possible complications with benefits not outweighing risks. 18 months later, my mom arrived at the ER and was too far gone to be operated on and be able to recover. She died of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). The surgeon said her aorta was like 7.5 cm, some 3x larger than the expected 2.5 cm. He said it would usually take 6-10 years to develop to this state, and he was surprised that it was never discovered. So, my mom, in Dr Reddy's "care", got all sorts of checks for her heart, but nothing for the rest of the cardiovascular system. No one ever bothered to look at the plumbing, at the aorta. Ultrasound, very commonly available these days, would have been able to notice such a huge abnormality. But no one bothered to look beyond the pump :-(

Since Dr. Asit Jain took over in the last few years, the experience has been very terrible and full of distrust and mismanagement. There have been several incidents of him being unprofessional, but the most recent one prompted me to write this feedback so that everyone is aware of the horrible practice he runs. I applied for life insurance, and the insurance company required my primary care physician to share my medical record with them. Unfortunately, Dr. Asit Jain is my primary care physician. To my complete surprise, I discovered that the medical records he has about me are incorrect '. it seems he mixed up my record with someone else's . On a serious note it seems like his health-related advice to me was also based on this inaccurate record. He shared the incorrect record with the insurance company, leading to the denial of my application. When I reported this to Dr. Jain's office, it took them 8 weeks to arrange for the doctor to speak with me to discuss a solution. He called me after the deadline provided by the insurance company. When I confronted him with these facts, he chose to hang up the call. I was not surprised because he is completely unprofessional, unethical, and a bad primary care physician. While he may be a ok or so-so cardiologist, I will not recommend anyone to hire him as their primary care physician. I have decided to report this to the medical board and a few others as well. I am committed to holding him accountable for his actions towards me. .

The front desk staff were by far the worst part of this experience. Smirking, making unnecessary side comments about children while working in a pediatric setting is completely inappropriate. I arrived 10 minutes late with a 1yo and a 3mo old, and there was zero attempt to accommodate or show understanding. I've worked in the medical field, and every clinic I've been part of allows at least a 15-minute grace period. If that has changed, fine, but the complete lack of empathy is unacceptable. Let's say I would've had make it on time, I would've had waiting 10min in the waiting room and 30min in the room for my 3mo old baby to be seeing. What a pathetic medical staff. Because of the front desk staff alone, this clinic felt unwelcoming and unpleasant.
