The team was quick to schedule and answer emails, etc. they were also super friendly. My issue is…read morethat we had to call them to come fix some mistakes they made, then after those mistakes were "fixed" it was evident that not all of them fully were. I ended up fixing them myself as it was more or less introductory work and was easier than scheduling a second fix. All in all, if your job is simple, I say go with them, if it's complex, it might be better to look elsewhere.

AVOID AT ALL COST! THEY WILL CHARGE YOU $188 PER HOUR TO GO SHOPPING!!…read more Mr. Handyman charges $ 188 per hour (currently). Even though, I sent pictures ahead, the handyman arrived without the necessary materials to do the work. He said, he needed to go to Home Depot (HD) to buy standard drywall to fill a few foot of a rectangular shaped hole that had already been cut out after a plumbing leak in ceiling. Already annoyed, that an appointment had previously been cancelled, I told him that there was no way, that I was going pay the company $188 per hour to go out and buy two boards ( the other being a piece of plywood). If that was the case, then they could forget about the job and he could leave. He then called the company and was given permission to not sign in, until he returned with the materials, and that I wouldn't be charged for the shopping time. He related this to me, and I agreed to let him proceed. He returned circa 1hr + 15 mins later. It took the worker 1.5 hours to do the job. The final price I was I initially presented with for 1.5 hrs of work was over $500! I then reviewed with their office, that the worker had gone to the store to purchase supplies and they had agreed that I wasn't going to be charged for shopping! Not wanting to hear that, She threatened to take me to small claims court for not paying that initial amount, stating that they put GPS in their vans and knew exactly where he had been. I told her the worker would confirm what I was saying and that I would give him the phone to do so. She expressed no interest in talk with him. Unfortunately, she must have just looked at his initial time of arrival and refused to hear that an agreement had been made not to sign in. She threatened to take me to small claims court for not paying that amount. I told her to go for it. . I was only going to pay her for the 1.5 hours of actual work. She then said they could reduce the amount to $ 400+ . I told her again, no I was only paying for 1.5 hrs. I asked for an itemized bill for the cost of the materials. She indicated $90 + I again asked for an itemized bill. She indicated she would email it to me after I paid. What I received was not an itemized bill! She temailed back that they don't send itemized bills for products purchased after telling me she would send one. Lesson learned, never go with a company that charges by the hour especially one's that make you pay to get supplies. One should question how ethical such a company is? Be kind to yourself. Don't use Mr. Handyman!

John did a great job installing my gazebo. I bought it, and had it delivered. There was an issue…read morewith the gazebo itself, but John was able to come up with a solution to make it work!

We had a lot of hope of working with John, to take care of certain things in our apartment. He came…read moreover to check everything out right away, and then said that he would send a proposal with the Estimate. And that is when we waited, and waited the first time. My husband texted him a few times, to make sure he had the correct email address. When that didn't work, I texted him and then finally found an email for him and sent a sternly worded email to him. Finally I was able to get an answer back, and after a little bit longer had gotten the proposal. We had to send it to our landlords for approval, and once we had that we sent it back to John to get things moving. That was sometime around July I believe. I did understand that he was working on other projects, and tried to respect that. So I didn't overload him with messages or emails. But when sometime went by, and we hadn't heard anything. I sent I believe two more emails to him asking when we can finally get our stuff done as we did everything he had asked. And we have heard nothing from him, it is 11-20-25 today. I think I sent the last email in beginning of Oct. And nothing, nothing at all. He apparently I have figured decided not to help us, and just forgot to let us know. All I can figure is our project was too small, not as exciting I am sure as other projects he might get. If you need something done quick, and not too complicated don't bother with him. He doesn't communicate, and he doesn't bother to tell you when he has decided not to handle your project taking months out of your time in which you could have been reaching out to someone else to help you.
