The chimney cap looks great and we are very grateful.

Finally this fall, I re-checked regional listings for a Buck Stove service provider and found Hall's Pools Spas & Fireplaces. They've been in business almost 30 years; not sure whey they weren't listed before. They are an official Buck Stove dealer as well as for several other brands. What a refreshing experience! The initial phone call, I had a friendly staff member who provided several options about scheduling and whether to bring the unit in or have their staff come to the house. We brought it in (its very small and semi-portable). The in-store experience was great--the staff quickly examined the unit, patiently asked questions to understand exactly what the problem was that we were experiencing, and gave me an estimate for time and cost, and waited for me to confirm yes, that was fine. I already felt good, but then whoosh, they called the *next day* to say the work was completed, the fireplace was good as new! Different people on the return visit but the same level of knowledgeable, polite friendliness. They reminded me we live in their service area and the charge for them to come out (vs me dragging the unit to them) is nominal. Now the unit is working great and we are so happy to have a working fireplace again!

Comfort Living Fireplaces has been the ONLY provider that has actually done everything they said they would do, when they said they would do it and for the amount discussed. Thank you Kathy and Bob. Even with the difficulties my home gave the contractors, they came up with solutions to make it work. They cleaned up all the debris when the inside chimneys fought back and by the end of the two days, we had beautiful working fireplaces that were quickly claimed by the cats. Could not be more satisfied. Now to save up for the other two fireplaces.

I had a vent-less gas fireplace installed over two years ago & I just wanted to remark that it's been very good. I began the process before I moved to the PGH area by searching for such a company. I put in an offer on a house & knew I wanted a fireplace, if it was feasible to do. I called weeks in advance & set-up an appointment for a site inspection. They were very nice in accommodating my scheduled time in PGH as I was also having other estimates done in a short time span for carpet, HVAC work & a radon gas eliminator. Anyway, the technician determined they could do it & made his notes. Back in VA, I re-called & told them a date I needed for installation during my next trip up to coincide with the closing. Again, they were very accommodating to my schedule. I also had to decide what I wanted without ever setting foot in one of their shops. They directed me to their website where I could see the options. It was a bit more involved than I had anticipated, but it was nice to have different styles & finishes available to select from. As scheduled, they came the day before the carpet installers. A plumber ran a gas line to the back of the connection juncture & the installers put in the hearth, mantle & fireplace. They gave me a quick tutorial on using the remote controller I selected. Everything went well & has pretty much ever since. One note - the remote system uses a lot of batteries; 8 AA in the unit & 3 AAA in the remote & they need replaced more often than I anticipated. But it is nice to be able to control it like a TV, from your chair.

We worked directly with the manufacturer in AZ as instructed who sent all replacement parts to the Fireplace & Patio Place to fix this brand-new unit, which was under warranty. However, the Fireplace & Patio place refused to send their service to help until I agreed to pay an additional $240 to have them come. I had no choice but to pay for the service call to get the unit working - they refused to schedule the service until I agreed to pay. Not once did they contact the manufacturer and try to make this right with me - the customer. They had no problem taking my $4600 when they sold it to me, but showed zero support or effort to make this right for me when it didn't work. I spent hours/days going between them & the manufacturer and am still waiting to be reimbursed for the service call by the manufacturer as they promised. Also, when they sold me this unit, they sold me a log kit for $300+ that didn't even fit the fireplace unit so I had to drive back and return the logs, which they did refund me for. I will never return to this store nor would I recommend to others.. it was a really bad experience on several levels and a big waste of much of my time. I am grateful that the unit is now working and just pray I don't have to call for service again!
