Making the Consultation Appointment
I called in to check whether or not this place took my insurance on a Thursday. They told me they'd call me back by the end of the day. They didn't. I came in on Monday and was told to get a referral from my dentist. I got one and came back an hour later. They told me they'd call me to make an appointment. They didn't. I came in again on Thursday and asked how long making an appointment should take. They told me a few minutes. I asked why I didn't have one yet. They told me someone would call me back at 3:00pm. They didn't. I posted a bad review on any social networking site I could stating this past facts. In one hour, I received a call with an appointment.

The Consultation Appointment
I came in for my consultation the 29th of August. I had an appointment at 2:00 and came in at 1:45. The front desk told me to have a site. Fourty minutes later I was requested to fill out some paperwork. I question why they didn't give me this when I checked in, but I suppose they didn't think that far ahead.
The place itself seems clean and modern. Fancy scanners and x-ray machines. A television in every room. It is quite cold there though, I'd suggest bringing long sleeves.
I was required to take an x-ray, and the first x-ray machine was directly behind the counters directly behind the front desk. I was then taken to a room where I waited for the doctor to evaluate my scans. The doctor was nice. Took a look at my teeth ...and checked my tongue? He answered my questions and told me about unclear spots on the x-ray. I was given a choice to take a supplementary x-ray to further resolve anything that required clarification. I uh... don't really see how that's a choice so went ahead and requested it.
I don't particularly care for the manner in which the lady who processed my visit wanted me to basically sit in a chair the entire time. It was probably innocent but just the manner of a the slightly exasperated "no, you're not finished yet. Sit down" seemed quite.... odd. Too terse? Sorry, the conversation ended and I thought we were done, so I got up. Other than that though, she was nice. Made small talk and the like.
I was required to take a second special(?) x-ray to look more closely at my teeth at a certain area. The second x-ray machine is in the far right right after the counters adjacent to the front desk. After processing the second x-ray, I was told I could sit in the chair in the corner. When I got up to look at the x-rays, I was again told I could sit in the chair in the corner. Yes, I was just sitting there, thank you. However, I would like to see what I just spent $290 on for this 'special' x-ray. I thought my insurance would cover... something? I have both dental and medical insurances, but I guess not. I'll call them tomorrow.
The consultation visit was overall, pretty okay. I spent a bit more time waiting than I had hoped, but in general it seemed quite ordinary. I did leave thinking about being told to sit down so many times though, which prompted me to write this. I don't feel angry or annoyed, I just don't quite feel right. Like the visit wasn't as smooth as it could have been. Or that I offended the lady assisting me somehow during my visit. I don't think she realized this, as I don't think it affected me enough to display any change in my outward behaviour.

The Surgery
The surgeon was nice and made me feel comfortable. I had IV sedation so I don't really remember any of it. Recovery took a week. That was that.

Billing
It's January, 2018. I thought everything was taken care of. A week ago I received a bill from the surgeon. I went there to question it, and they told me to ignore it. I called my insurance and they told me they didn't receive a claim. I called the oral surgeon again. They told me they needed some more information which I gave them over the phone. A few minutes later I received another call from an unknown (to me) number claiming to be from them. They requested social security numbers. I declined to give them over the phone, and that I would go to an office in person. The lady on the phone tried to clarify the situation by stating "So you do not wish to pay the bill correct?" To which I said 'No, incorrect, I want my insurance to pay the bill.' Immediately it seems like they want to pin this on me as if this is my fault for their incompetence in verifying all information is correct and complete before hand. It seems like they wanted to send my bill to collections or something. Jesus fucking christ when did I ever say I didn't want to pay my bill!?
TLDR:
This place is a fucking mess; rude, unorganized, and accusatory. I would rather drive someplace farther away then deal with this place. I get better service at a retail store! read more
