Our garage door was intermittently not opening from the outside. I called and Precision stated they were able to send a tech out same day; I asked to have them come the next morning. I was given a window beginning at 10 am. I was supposed to get a call 30 minutes before arrival but only received 10 minutes notice around 9:50 am. When the technician called he told me that he was training some new guys and they showed up with two trucks and so many people it was overwhelming. I really wish they would have asked me if I was ok with that beforehand. I was told the motor needed to be replaced as the transmitter was no longer working. I was so overwhelmed with the amount of people standing around in and outside my garage I asked them if I could think about it and get back to them. Several hours later I realized one of our garage remotes was missing. I had to call Precision who then contacted the tech via dispatch. He let me know one of the guys put it in his pocket and left with it by accident. I was upset because they then had a way to get into our gate and house so we needed to make sure it was returned. They did bring it back several hours later. To be clear, I do think them taking the remote was an accident but it still made me feel unsafe. We ended up hiring someone else to do the job who came solo and provided less pressure from a sales perspective. I can say the price was comparable to what was quoted by Precision. read more

He installed new sensors, wiring and an outside control panel. We received new programmed garage door openers too. He did the entire installation in 60 minutes. Our garage door spring coil broke, and I was going down my Yelp list -- whoever answered first was going to get my business. After the first two didn't answer, my third call was to Precision because I remembered seeing one of their commercials. Not only did someone pick up right away, but they also gave me an appointment immediately. I needed my car out of the garage ASAP, and they came the very next morning. Nicholas, the technician, did a full inspection and offered a list of recommended services and repairs. While I know he was just doing his job, I'm planning to tackle upgrades later -- right now, I just needed that coil replaced so I could get my car out. He understood, did exactly what I asked, and promptly repaired and replaced the coil. He also provided clear quotes for the upgrades we discussed for the future. He let explain my grievances and seem genuinely interested in what the company could have done better. Luis never tried shifting blame, and took responsibility for the actions of his technicians. He then offered me a refund on a large portion of the money I had already paid. I contacted Precision Garage Door Service for routine maintenance on my garage door. They were running ahead of schedule and were able to come early. While waiting for them, my garage door opener malfunctioned. I went to go close the garage door with the wall mounted service device and it malfunctioned as well.. How often does that happen when you're waiting for a routine maintenance and you end up having a malfunction? My Service Technician, Antonio Mendoza, called and told me his ETA as well as checking with me if it was all right if the Service Techs that he was training could participate in my service. When they got here, I told them about the door issue that just occurred. I requested an estimate from Antonio. We agreed upon the price. The guys got right to work. Antonio showed me the wear and tear on the parts that were causing the problem. He discussed the estimate. I agreed to the work and they finished promptly.. All of the service technicians on site were very professional and friendly.. My labrador retriever check them out as well and they all passed the sniff test...Haha.. Patrick Leahy was the technician sent to our home and It was readily apparent they had sent their 1st String Player. Patrick was professional, approachable, genial & unassuming in nature, who was extremely knowledgeable. He quickly assessed what was wrong with our garage door while educating me in the process (In Laments Terms) regarding their Recommended & Standard Protocol, offering me with options & choices, something "We Humans" always appreciate. My garage is over 20 years old, and Patrick eloquently elaborated that when "Owners" select "Quick Fixes", that it's often "Monetary Based", which he placed no value judgement on, but merely explained the facts as he experienced it. Patrick cared enough to be honest & candid with our family, alerting us to the "State" our current garage door was in, which he concluded, looked to be the result of many prior "Quick Fixes", resulting in the need for a much larger & more comprehensive job, which we gladly paid to have done. I cannot begin to say enough about our family's experience with Patrick, his attention to detail and steadfast approach in properly repairing our garage door, and "Thoroughly Testing" it to ensure he was satisfied was second nature to him. I called Precision Garage Door after the cable snapped on one of my brand-new garage doors. The technician told me my contractor had used "cheap parts" and pressured me into replacing both cables, adding new heavy-duty springs, and upgrading the second door as well--warning the doors might fail otherwise. Feeling uneasy but wanting it fixed, I agreed. The bill came to $1,929.70. Later, the manager at Overhead Door Company (who sold me the doors) told me I'd been misled--my doors already had the proper parts. I contacted Precision's manager, explained what happened, and thankfully received a $1,304.80 refund. Even then, I was billed $345 per cable--parts that cost about $25 each at Home Depot or Lowe's. Unfortunately, the same door later came off the track. A different Precision tech again tried to upsell me, this time claiming both doors needed new "heavy-duty rollers" for over $1,000. Overhead Door confirmed that was false and is now inspecting the issue themselves. Once again, the rollers are about $3.00 each at Home Depot or Lowe's This company uses fear, deception, and outrageously inflated parts prices to upsell unnecessary work. I'll never use them again--and I strongly warn others to stay far away. read more

So disappointing! When the belt broke on my 2004 Chamberlain/LiftMaster garage door opener I called Precision Garage Door Company after seeing their ads on TV. I was pleased that they were able to get a technician out the same day, and after explaining what had happened to my garage door, I was assured that the technician would have all the parts needed for the repair on his truck. The technician arrived and immediately began telling me that he was going to get me a quote on a new opener (motor/drive unit and track). I told him that the motor had been operating just fine and I merely wanted him to replace the belt. That's where things got fishy and "scammish." The technician told me that the company is not allowed to repair our opener because of a law passed in 2019. He proceeded to tell me that since our opener did not have a battery backup that they are forbidden by law to do repairs and can only replace the entire unit. I let him know that when I called in to make an appointment, that I clearly stated that my belt had broken and was assured that whoever arrived would be able to repair or replace the belt. He said he'd call his supervisor and see what he could do. A few minutes later, he came back, re-stated the 2019 law forbidding him from repairing our opener and that they didn't even carry those belts on their trucks. While he was on the phone, I looked up the law he was quoting. In fact there was a law passed in 2019 (SB969). This law clearly states that "All new or replacement garage door openers installed after July 1, 2019 must include a battery backup." There is no requirement stating that one must have a remote control in place to replace a belt, install a belt, or repair an opener. I read this to the technician and he re-stated that they didn't even carry those belts on their trucks and stated that he would not be able to help and left. I ordered a belt from Amazon for $52 and replaced it in minutes. It's obvious to me that Precision's business model includes hoping to scare homeowners and upsell them into buying unneeded garage door openers! I'm thinking their jingle, "Precision Door Service a name you can trust" should be revised! Shame on you Precision! read more

Our garage door opener stopped working on a Sunday afternoon, so I went online to find a repair service. Precision Door came up, and I was immediately impressed that they had a "Live Chat" option. They responded right away and scheduled an appointment for Monday. Caleb was our service technician, and he could not have been more professional. He replaced the entire opener with a new unit he had on the truck, then stayed late to help program both of our cars. He also took the time to walk us through all the new features, including remote access and video review. After checking the sensors and attempting all our efforts on our own, including purchasing a universal keypad that said was compatible with our unit ,we had to call them out, they dispatched the technician Brandon the very next day he came first thing in the morning, was able to look at the issue and although we did not proceed with recommendations for their service, they were very informative, and I appreciate the fact that they came out. We See their commercials all the time on TV and was in a pinch after work. Reached out to precision and they said they would not be able to come until the next day in the late morning plus there was going to be a service charge just to give us a quote, but if we went with them, then they would waive the fee. Unfortunately, they did not assist us with our broken garage that night and the commercials they air online, stating that they make calls 24 hours a day and they have everything on their trucks they need is not accurate.! I was in a bind, the spring from my garage door broke and my car was stuck inside of my garage. I called Precision and they set up an appointment for later the same day. We had to reschedule for the next morning because of a job taking longer than expected. When Manuel showed up he inspected the garage door and gave me a few different options. The technician showed up on time and ready to go. He quickly diagnosed that my original garage installation was mediocre at best which is why I had so many problems with it despite it being a brand new house. He rebuilt my garage door hardware in less than an hour and it's been working fantastic ever since. Price was reasonable, especially considering the quality workmanship. The door itself is worth 5 times what I paid to get it operating properly and avoid what was an impending catastrophic failure. 3 years warrantee gives me confidence the door will work properly for years to come. I requested precision garage door to come fix a ruptured spring in my garage door which trapped my vehicle in the garage. Of several garage specialists only precision door could come the next day which they did and they performed excellent service to the door as well as upgrading a few other features in the door. I called Precision to get a service inspection and to get my garage door oiled up. The mechanic put a suggestion to replace my wheels from the steel ones to synthetic. I have ten wheels that we replaced at 40.00 per tire because of the advise the mechanic gave to me make my door last longer. Not only is my door now smoother but noise is gone.
