As an active person and someone who has trained religiously for many years, I have picked up countless aches, pains and minor injuries along the way; all part of the wear and tear that comes with an active/sporting lifestyle. When I was offered a free consultation at the chiropractors, I grasped the opportunity with both hands. Even though I didn't expect there to be anything wrong with me, I thought it would be a good idea to find out for sure, at least for peace of mind. Prior to entering the surgery, I had assumed that I would no doubt be diagnosed with some form of long-worded ailment that required immediate attention and would then be roped into a follow up session at a hefty price. To my pleasant surprise, this was not the case. Instead I was given a brief interview, asked about my training techniques, sporting background and day to day living. I was then asked about what areas of the body had troubled me in the past and what had been the most recent area of irritation and then told to arrange a follow up session the next day which would also be free of charge. The following day, I returned to the surgery and was put through a number of standard physiological tests, where the chiropractor moved a limb a certain way and reviewed how my joints reacted, etc. Following the examination, much to my delight, I was told that I was in full working order, but I could benefit from incorporating certain exercises into my routines, and conversely removing others altogether. The advice I was given has actually helped considerably and I am and have been pain free for quite a while, which in past instances, has been a rarity. The chiropractor provided an efficient, friendly and most importantly professional service and I would recommend him to anyone with joint pain or bone problems. He knew exactly what he was talking about and gave me some good, useful advice that has been beneficial and he did so without stinging me out of a few extra quid. Claire was extremely good, sympathetic, analytic and generally great. Even after the first treatment my daughter felt better. We've been back lots of times as my daughter's condition was chronic. She's pretty much cured now and is off back to her studies. Yay. Some people are cured with one visit. Totally couldn't recommend Claire more highly. Basically I had a very dicky neck and for about two years I had trouble looking down and left. Within my 10 sessions at £13 an hour my neck can look any way it dan well pleases now. The staff were great and very knowledgeable, the tutors swell supervise and check you over swell to make sure there are no mistakes made. I felt utterly safe the whole time. Wow, I can only say life changing, I went to see Gareth after a few friends had recommended him…read more I've tried doctors and physio's had x-rays, mri etc. I've even seen a spinal surgeon. So i thought what have i got to lose and it was the best decision I've made. My bad back was not the problem it was the associated pain in my Hip, leg and dead foot. So I found exercise a chore and being overweight didnt help. I booked a package of sessions, where after two I'd already noticed a huge difference. I've now completed my treatment with Gareth and I can only say that he is a weird miracle worker, his methods seemed a little strange at first but as he works he explains everything as he go's along and all makes great sense. I did not know at the time, in fact I was told nothing except it might hurt a little. I gave a visible sign of distress from the particular needle, but not enough to warrant an 'are you okay?'. I was unable to sleep for 2 days, which prompted me to do some deep research, i find out that it was a nerve that had been damaged. Acupuncture isn't supposed to cause significant pain, and that I should have immediately told the practitioner, except I was not informed about this when starting the treatment. It has now been 6 days, I reached out to contact for advice, since I want reassurance that the damage is purely superficial and will not cause any other hidden issues. It has been 4 days and counting with no reply. In my honest opinion, I would have rather chosen a different practitioner who would be transparent with me, describing what I am going through, what they will do, how it will help and what I can expect. Two sessions, altogether under 30 minutes for over £100, i feel like all I learned was that acupuncture can go wrong, and that was by doing my own research.
